So i started chapter 12 and finally the game has started to pick up and get interesting. I felt the the first 11 chapters were good but no where nearly as great as the first 11 chapters of Among Thieves. Hopefully i can beat the game today if i can if not definitely by Fri.

oh and by the way Kal i freakin' LOVE your Avatar!

I don't wanna knock Uncharted 2, it's the only other game I would truly give a 10/10 this generation bar maybe MGS4, but it's opening chapters aren't all that.

The first train climb is incredible, sure, but the museum heist is laborious and Borneo, though visually stunning, is pretty basic. Nepal is one of the best bits of the game, but where Uncharted 3 soars in its second half, I've never been keen on U2's village to sanctuary battle that drags on. I'd say they're about equal in slow bits by the time the credits roll.

I agree. I was surprised at how quickly the second half went for me, not because its not as lengthy, but because its so full of action whereas the first half is more full of puzzles. Granted, the action sequences were giving me a lot of trouble because they weren't the typical 'hide and shoot' kind of sequences.

The slower bits are my favourite part a lot of the time... There is a such a thing as 'epic overload'. I mean, it's nice sometimes to walk across a bridge and NOT have it break :P

I have to say that this is the BEST looking game on consoles without a doubt. It really amps up the bar and no other title is nearly as polished, detailed and clean looking. Its not just the character models (which look amazing) but all the little details are phenomonely done. There are so many little trinkets in the environments and locations you visit which add so much to the atmosphere and give it life and personality. Im really impressed with the lighting when it comes to the outdoor sections. And the fire effects? Wow. ND has really outdone themselves. This will definetly get many best graphics of the year awards

One of the most exciting games Ive played. Great piece of entertainment, definitely gives most movies a run for their money. Only complaint I can think of is after a few of the epic set pieces the ending felt a little underwhelming. Kept expecting for them to out do themselves, but whatever. Near flawless game and one of the best Ive ever played.

I will admit that some of the bigger sequences didn't leave me as shocked since they were already shown in trailers and stuff. But considering how awesome they were when I first saw them, I think they still left a nice impact.

Yeah, finished it, great game but feel the same as others on the ending. Was also a little bummed at

the lack of supernatural elements in this game. One of my favourite moments in all the UC games is when they first reveal whatever monster is hiding in the temple or whatever and I kinda missed that tense, scary part of the game. I suppose the fire djins was kinda like that, but was just a hallucination. I also thought we needed more time with Marlowe, like an extra scene with her and Drake before she died. And I was disappointed Talbot was just a normal dude. After Charlie shot him in the chest, I was hoping he was going to be like, eternal or something cool like that.

Still, very fun game.

That's actually been one of the things I hated about the games.

I never liked how the game felt real until they introduced some supernatural being. Especially in the first one, I felt like I was playing a Resident Evil game for a while.

But yeah, I feel like there was something missing with Marlowe and Talbot. I remember there was some specualtion about Marlowe being 400 years old, and I thought that would turn out to be true with someone.

They admit they were going for more of a modern day Indiana Jones with the franchise, so it made sense to include those elements.

Yeah, overall, I think this game hands down has the best character development in the series... Some scenes, I was just so entirely hooked into the dialogue, the characters, everything. Fantastic writing, direction, acting, you name it.

I've never seen the Indiana Jones movies. :(

I finished the story, WOW FREAKING WOW, This masterpiece is easily, and I mean easily a 10/10,:up: the water physics and animations are among the best I've ever seen, the writing is superb, way to go Amy, and the action is incredible!!!:awesome::up: The game is gorgeous, I've already started it on crushing, let's see how far I make it, it's one hell of a ride!!!:D:up:

Wha!? But, how!? I mean freaking how have you NOT seen those movies? Get on it man. Go get them. You'll love them, i promise.

I just completed it and of course, nothing short of spectacular. REALLY love the final scene, that was something i wanted to see. [BLACKOUT]Hopefully ND will keep the two together and won't break them up...again. Maybe even introduce a baby Nate. I dont know too many games where you are controlling a father and that could add a level humanity to the character[/BLACKOUT]

Overall though i think i enjoyed Among Thieves slightly more. There were some battles at the end of this game that were never fun, just frustrating. Still though, great, fantastic, amazing game. I just love all the characters in these games. can't say enough positives about this series.

My thoughts for the next game are

that it'd be nice to see Drake settle down, perhaps leave the treasure hunting be for Elena but have something pulling at him to force him back into it, something from his past or something to help someone, or perhaps even something Nate and Elena stumble across and get sucked into. A Nate/Elena centric game could be really damn interesting.

I loved the way they used Elena in this game, to question just why Nate needs to go on these quests. Tying that into his past shows just how damaged he actually is, it's great. It's funny, because up until that point, I was thinking that this quest didn't seem as personal to Drake as U2, or the stakes didn't seem as high, he was just kinda DOING it for the sake of it, but then when Elena actually pointed that out, I realised that was the point, it's an addiction. It was such a great story.

I agree with that man, I think that would have to be the next step.

I was never a big movie person growing up, so I haven't seen a lot of the "classic" films from the last 20-30 years. But I'll definitely make an effort to watch them this weekend.

I mentioned this earlier, but
I wonder if they would follow the trend of the Indiana Jones films, where we get three games that seem to make a trilogy, then we don't get a new one for a few years. Then finally we'll see Drake return, much older and with a son who he takes on this adventure with him. It could start off as a family vacation thing and then he suddenly has a reason to go chasing after something again.

I don't think we'll see a sequel anytime soon because it really feels like Drake gave that up for Elena. So I wonder if we'll see a prequel, not like Golden Abyss, but more like something showing young Drake growing up with Sully and learning from him. I feel like there's still more to Drake's story that wasn't really touched on. Like what is his real name and was he even a descendant of Francis Drake or was all that made up too?

Wow, so I just got finished with the post-plane crash ordeal. Holy crap. This game has been incredible. I don't want it to end!

Stayed up pretty late and beat the game last night lol, just couldn't put the controller down. Overall? Great, great game. Finished it with 84 treasures, probably my best run hunting treasures in an Uncharted game...There were alot of things that stuck out to me particularly chapter 2, what a surprise:

20 years earlier I'm thinking what could this be? To my surprise it's a young Nathan Drake! Very well done chapter and explanation as to what would become a great friendship between Nate and Sully.

Chapter 7: Just one word...INTENSE.

Chapter 11:

That chase with Talbot was really fun, without a doubt playing that chapter over again.

Chapter 17, omg the epicness:

I found myself saying HOLY ****! What in incredible predicament Drake was put in, definitely a stand out chapter.

Really credit ND for the amount of effort they put into the desert sequence, truly a terrific accomplishment.

Chapter 21:

The doors open and the sight is SPECTACULAR. The Atlantis of the Sands = eyegasm. Was shocked when Sully took that bullet, one had to wonder is this REALLY the end? Thankfully the answer was no and Nate was hallucinating.

Last but not least the fight with Talbot, really great stuff and a suitable ending for the third installment.

UC3 succeeds in alot of areas, a thrill ride to the very end. I'll be honest and say I put UC2 just a SLIGHT step ahead of it though by a very small margin. This series continues to prove why it's my favorite for the PS3, can't wait to see where ND takes Drake next.

I'll be playing it on Crushing later tonight, I'm ready for seconds!

So many awesome parts in this game, but for some reason one thing sticks in my mind the most.

After the Boat capsizes and you walk into the overturn ballroom. Turning the corner and seeing millions of gallons of sea water behind the glass made me stop in my tracks. A sense of panic set in and I was frozen in place. It was awe inspiring.

A couple of other things:

When Sully got shot near the end and apparently died, I felt shocked and eventually angry with revenge. I was feeling the same emotions Drake was going through and that is a testament to wonderful writing and acting.

After being sucked out of the Cargo Plane was nerve racking. I loved that there is no music in the background during this part. Wonderfully constructed.

The Puzzles. We have to give them props for listening to us. We wanted better puzzles and we got them.

The ending. I like that it sort of went full circle with Nate/Elena and the plane. Hopefully it doesn't get shot down by pirates. Lol.
