I liked the opening chapters a lot. Its nice seeing Nate as a person with a normal life. Plus absolutely loved when [blackout]Nate picked up the nerf gun and was acting like he was in a gun fight in his attic. And getting to examine items from his past adventures made me all nostalgic.[/blackout]

I didn't mind slow. Actually, the game really took advantage of being the final installment and allows you to kinda savoir it. Like, take your time with these characters.

I love the atmosphere of the flashback scenes with younger brothers. Reminds me of my own childhood, when the world was much bigger and full of mystery. Naughty Dog are magicians.

I had unexpected company yesterday so didn't get to start this 'til this evening, but goodness, I'm loving these early chapters (on Chapter 6 now).

Yeah that was some great stuff during Chapter 4. Very well done.

Glad you finally got started and are loving it. I'm in the middle of Chapter 6.

In chapter 10 when
the jeep goes off the cliff :shock!!! My stomach was in my throat!

Im loving the stealth aspects of this game. The enemy AI is as incompetent as its always been but its still fun sneaking around and clearing an area by stealth.

TLOU MP is fantastic. I loved watching COD Bros who tried to play it like cod just getting murdered.

Sorry guys, I gotta spaz out over details again. Ok so I noticed that when I rolled through some mud, that the mud would actually cover my rifle. Like seriously, what developer thinks to add detail like that!? That's insane.

Dude walk in snow and then look at your tracks. You can freaking see the boot tread in it. I've never seen that before. The actual bottom. Of the boot.. Right there.. Wow I mean they could have left it blank.. Just an imprint.. But they didn't.

Completely agreed. there is something to be said about what great character they have created in this universe. something tomb raider could learn from.

also, i think the two brothers are symbolic of the two thieves. Nate saint dimas, and sam is the mocking one who needs to return to the life of wickedness.

I just finished the entire Madagascar area and holy smokes, even though we already saw most of it from the demos, it was still a blast to play and I hit such a high that I'm exhausted now. I'm taking a short break now so that I can get at least another hour in.

It's weird though, I ended last night on chapter 9, and now I'm only on 12. The game really does slow down once the main story kicks in.

I'm in the same exact boat. The earlier chapters are so short (relatively speaking) that I was worried I'd fly through the game, but once the real story begins, the levels definitely expand in scope and time.

Ha, I just stopped at the beginning of Madagascar because based on what all we'd seen, it just seemed too huge to tackle after playing for 5 hours straight. Sounds like I was right, lol.

That's exactly why I didn't watch any videos other than the extended E3 video. Iv never gone into a game this fresh and it's paying off in spades.

I'm on Ch 19 myself, should finish the remaining 3 tomorrow.

This is EASILY, the best story and "treasure hunt" we have seen in this series. It's just been remarkable.

The details in this game are insane. Your shoes leave tracks in the snow, when you slide down gravel it leaves a trail, and when you shine a flashlight into someone's face, they squint like they're trying to keep from being blinded. :D

To be fair Lara leaves tracks in snow in Rise of the Tomb Raider. And they fill in. Snow sticks to her clothing as well. So that isnt something new.

On another note, some treasures are under boxes. You have to blow up the boxes to get the treasure. There might be some treasures under other destructable things as well.

Aw, thanks. I know I've missed a ton already. I was just thinking how sparse the treasures seemed compared to the previous games. That explains it.

There are 109 treasures total.

Compared to:

Uncharted 1: 61 treasures

Uncharted 2: 101 treasures

Uncharted 3: 100 treasures

so both the bundle and the original have arrived home, i'm expecting the collector's today or tomorrow

Has anyone else gotten some Assassin's Creed vibes from platforming aspects of the game?

It's not just tracks tho. You can see the tread on the bottom. Of Nates boots in the track. Uncharted has been letting tracks in things since the first game.. But this is the first time I've ever seen actual tread in a foot print... Ever.

Not really. Nate actually goes where I want him to go while jumping.
:funny:

I mean more in terms of locations and vistas. The platforming in chapter two really reminded me of the start of Assassin's Creed 2, and there are some other areas later in the game that look like buildings straight from an AC game.

Has anyone been noticing an issue with some of the "cutscenes" where the character's faces (usually) look a little blurry. It usually happens when they turn they're head slightly. It's not entirely bad, but it almost looks like a slight vibration whenever there's movements.
I found a good example of what I'm talking about. I'll post the pic in spoiler tabs since this is about halfway through the game, and it's also a large file.

Basically, the left side of Nate's body has a slight motion blur despite him standing relatively still. I've noticed this a lot whenever I try to use photo mode during a cut scene. It all depends on timing it properly in order to get a clear freeze frame of a scene.

I'll do most of the treasures and trophies on my 2nd or 3rd playthrough. Whatever ones I get now I get now, but more focused on the story.

Nope, I've had no hiccups or glitches yet.. Which kind of blows my mind.

And I agree.. My first play through of Uncharted is always for story. I'll do deeper treasure hunting on my second play through. I doubt I even attempt crushing or brutal as well. I don't have time for that kind d of garbage difficulty anymore.
