Uncharted 4: A Thief's End

I personally never got the love for Chloe as a character. While both female leads were kind of walking cliches in their first appearances, Elena easily emerged as the more interesting, three-dimensional and frankly, lovable character as the games went on, imo.

Exactly

Its the total recall/ chris nolan dynamic. one leads the lead character toward a healthy life style, one leads toward an balanced unhealthy lifestyle.

na I still do care that this game came out significantly later than it was supposed to. it's the middle of 2016 now. in the end it doesn't matter because it is what it is but i didn't suddenly forget that we were supposed to play this game at the end of last year.
You remember, you just don't care. This is not something that bothers you now that you've played it and had your expectations met and surpassed. You're completely satisfied with the end product. If it wasn't what you were expecting, then you'd be bringing up how the delays didn't help it. But like you said yourself, it is one of the best games you've ever played. Would you exchange that, as of today, for a sooner release but with lesser quality? Of course not.

it met my expectations I guess. well, sometimes it did surpass my expectations but most of the time it was close. in hindsight, yes it was for the best that it delayed the first and second times, but it still sucked that it got delayed. it just is what it is.

Yeah, I look at a game like Uncharted 4, and the last thing on my mind is that it was delayed several times. But then I look at a game like Homefront: The Revolution, and all I can think as I'm playing is "This game should have been delayed" or "This game was in development hell for so long and went through so much that it's no wonder it's bad."

I'm perfectly happy with the end product of Uncharted 4. The only lingering feeling I have is about what the original version was supposed to be, but even then, it's not in the case of "Man, this game could've been so much better had they done that instead." My mindset is more out of curiosity than complaint.

I beat Uncharted 4 yesterday and I don't think I've been more satisfied with the end of a game in my entire gaming career. If this is the end of the series they definitely went out the best way imaginable. Though if they wanted to spin off the series to follow [BLACKOUT]Drake's Daughter[/BLACKOUT] they could. I'd be perfectly content with this being the last we see of Uncharted. It's a great ending to a great series.

I like Chloe as well. Both characters are great in their own ways, which was intentional. That being said, I would say that Chloe is the more interesting character (note: interesting does not equal better). Chloe is more complex and mysterious. In Uncharted 2, she toed the line between being a hero and villian really well. Her hinted at past with Drake (both romantically and criminally) was compelling. What made Chloe great was that the was what Drake could become, and both she and Drake tried to push the other to their "side".

Elena is a good character as well, but she is the clearly defined "good" character, and with that comes the typical lack of complexity and agency, especially in comparison to Chloe. Where Chloe would push and fight against Drake every step of the way, Elena is (primarily) almost purely reactionary to Drake, but we forgive it because it represents her love and loyalty for him.

Both characters represent things any guy (especially a treasure hunter) would want. Chloe is the bad girl who'll seduce you with a tight tank top and promises of adventure; Elena is the girl next door who loves you despite your faults and will be there for you when you come home bloodied.

Chloe was a very interesting character in Among Thieves. Has a great arc, and serves the story really well.

She's alright in Drake's Deception, but has very little to do. I understand why they didn't bring her back for Thief's End.

I still get the "unable to join party" issue in multiplayer. How pathetic. As polished as the campaign is, I expected this issue from the beta to be dealt with by the time the final product was here.

Likewise I've had no MP issues. Maybe your connection Baneful? Doesn't always mean the problem is with the game could be on your end.

nope, not a connection issue

I asked this question on neogaf and apparently this is a problem from the patch; the patch was created to fix a separate issue but in the mix it reopened this wound apparently.

Hmm weird, like I said I haven't experienced any problems. Hopefully it's fixed for you though soon.

it's a very specific issue, apparently it only happens
whenever you're trying to join a party that has backed out of matchmaking and apparently is solved by the party owner going into Private Match menu.

other than that though I don't have any connection issues with mp. i connect, there's no lag. it works just fine. sometimes after a lobby is loaded it's empty again but i don't know if that's a fault of the game itself.

I suck at the multiplayer, lol. Still can't even figure out how to get more loadout points to do a good custom loadout. I've seen a lot of people have like 25 or 26, and I'm stuck at 20.

In other news, I'm doing my 2nd single-player playthrough and becoming obsessed with photo mode this go-round. This game is just too damned pretty.

I wrapped this game up the other night.

I enjoyed the fact that there was not as much combat in this one as previous games. Definitely made the encounters more enjoyable, and with the large levels and multiple gameplay styles, you can do some pretty radical things with these encounters. Reminded me a of Crysis in a way.

The huge car chase in the game is probably in my top 5 for best set piece in a video game.

This is an absolutely terrific conclusion for the franchise and these characters. I am a bit disappointed with the lack of a supernatural plot twist as I really enjoyed the twists in U1 and U2.

I'm really glad they managed to make a definitive ending without anyone dying. It's a completely happy ending with the priority being family. It reminded me a lot of The Last Crusade. You get the flashbacks to young Nate and Sam is a pretty good analogue to Henry Jones Sr. in that they both force the hero to deal with their family ties and eventually realize that was the real treasure. It sounds totally cheesy and rote on paper but Naughty Dog executed it wonderfully.

I really like how ND link the whole ending with the truth about Avery's treasure. It really fits the series and give a sense of closure. It was really good

Playing on crushing, with infinite ammo, bullet slow down, and the magnum.. Reeeeeeeally makes the game easy, lol.

Main menu, Bonus.

word i'll check it out

anyways as for the party issue, it turns out the trick works. if it says unable to join party, just start a private match, then do the invite. i did it and we got back together.
