If I remember correctly, they made Javier Bardem grow some body fat for his naked scene in No Country, so he looked "creepier" as a result.
I wonder if something similar was going on with Bane, as well - after all, Tom Hardy did look genuinely ripped in Warrior, so he probably could've done that again.

Either way, intentional or not, his "fat" look (still with muscles underneath obviously) in that scene certainly worked that way for me - still very imposing and threatening, but also rather creepy and unsettling.
It's not like you're just afraid he might smash you with his abs - you literally want to get the **** away, as far as possible :D

Wonder if that would've worked as well with a Warrior look instead...

^^The featurette on the blu ray says Chris wanted a more 'circus strongman' and a mass of muscle look than a 'beautiful body'.

Well that one should've been snapped as well, then ;)

I mean I'm not an expert in this so I don't know the details, but I'm pretty sure if you fell from such a height and then were stopped abruptly after already gaining considerable speed and inertia... things might turn out a bit messier than they did in this movie.
But then again who cares - it's an escapist film, and the body showing higher resilience in those than it might in real life is a rather common occurrence :)

I mean Bruce did look rather... struck... as a result of that, even lost consciousness I think, so they did convey what the movie/genre called for.

I can buy what they show in TDKR when some true realistic aspects has to be pushed aside for a CBM, lol.

Huh? Watched it thrice altogether (after the DVD release), probably not gonna do it again for quite some time - it's not a very enjoyable movie to sit through. Some individual scenes are absolutely worth rewatching, but they're all on youtube you know ;)

Ah, I see. I thought the poster just butchered Mayor Garcia's name, but he was making a reference to another character that the actor played.

Ah, I thought you were asking whom I was referring to, but actually you were suggesting I had gotten the name wrong.
The point was I didn't buy his performance in this movie ;)

By the way, I didn't wanna mention it earlier cause it's kinda off-topic, but has anyone seen the German dub by any chance?
Ohh boy... if you thought the "trigger" part was funny in the English version, you ain't seen nothing yet :D

It sounds so... ridiculous... so downright farcical, I literally couldn't believe my own ears when watching it. I mean he sounds pretty funny throughout the rest of the movie as well, but when that scene starts playing, it's literally a descent into madness.

Man, the part where Bane's reading Gordan's resignation and, midway, he starts shaking his head somewhat dramatically has had me rolling lately. It's like he's saying in his head while reading it, 'God damn, this is too extreme, even for me.' gets me every time now.

HBO has been showing TDKR and maybe it's my TV but Bane's voice seems to have an added echoey sound to him now different than on Bluray but the other actors' voices are normal.

I chuckled a bit when Bane said "Gotham is yours!"

I don't know why but something about the way he said it gave off an Adam Sandler vibe.

Banes voice, sounded like Sean Connery at times.
