The Dark Knight Rises Unintentionally Funny Moments in The Dark Knight Rises

That trigger scene is going to be parodied big time. Whereas "this city just showed you it's ready to believe in good" made want to cringe, the trigger scene in TDKR made want to burst out laughing.

"this city" also had that ridiculous Bale-face.

1. Talia's death followed by the WTF looks from Gordon, Bats, and Selina.
2. Alfred getting teary eyed and choked up every time he tries to speak to Bruce.
3. Bane snapping necks left and right.
4. Bruce's back "healed" followed by Bruce in pain screaming.
5. Foley dying.
6. John Blake explaining why he knew Bruce is Batman.

The close ups of Gordon's bum when he was on Talia's bomb truck.
They actually showed Gordon's, Batman's and Catwoman's butts all on close-ups while they were on a vehicle in this film...Cat and Bats both on the pod.

Nolan Schumachered it up for his swan song...:cwink:

TBH, Bane's voice made me chuckle the whole way through. And it only gets worse on repeat viewing's for me.

Especially after seeing it with one of my best friends, who came out going 'What was with the 'old man voice' Bane had', and then proceeded to do an impression that had me crying with laughter.

I'll never understand why they used that stupid voice.

Because Bane is old & disfigured.

When they're leaving the stock exchange, Bane saying "Thank You" in that almost sweet manner when he takes the red helmet from someone LOL. The slightly higher pitched voice is delightful. He sounds like a Victorian gentleman. :woot:

I actually LOVED his voice throughout and thought the pitch and just how different he sounded from everyone else, was one of the best things about him! It gave him more character. And the way he says "lovely" at the stadium almost had me in stitches. I'm glad he wasn't all doom and gloom.

The way John Blake says "Not every cop", the look on his face was parody-esque.

When Bane breaks the Bat, just the way he says "body" was a bit funny.

I can see why people saying Talia's death its a classical dramatic death but again very parody-esque.

I just found it funny that Bruce still used the Batman voice when nobody was around, like "So that's what that feels like." and when he was only with Blake, who already knew who he was. It took him getting stabbed in the ribs for him to actually speak normally while in the suit.

Im sure this was funny when read on the script. but it did not come of as that. He should of just gave a blank stare, it would of got the message across.

Also, Bane hitting the woman. Because I thought he wouldn't, then he does it.

*Sees that the bridge collapsed*

"Okay, everyone get in a circle and hold hands."

Bane's voice in the prologue.
Batman's "Where's tha triggarrrr?!?!?!?" tirade.
Talia's death scene.

While Batman's "then you'll have my permission to die" line was certainly a "hell yeah" moment, I couldn't help but laugh a little bit.

Probably because it is impossible to take him seriously with that voice.

It's literally on par with being threatened by a child putting on an grown-up voice over XBox Live.

Bane's voice in the prologue. Awful.

"His Speed. His ferocity!" line from Alfred.

Bane dropping the mic at the Football game. But that might have been intentional.

The trigger scene. It was both unintentionally funny, while at the same time, kind of exciting, because you knew Batman was desperate.

Gordon pointing a gun at Blake from behind at Hospital.

I also thought it was funny that Bane sounded like he had a cold when he was talking to Bruce in the prison.

"We will destroy Gothab."

When Bats & Cats are fighting the goons on Dagget's rooftop, there's a beat when they start getting shot at from afar and the way Batman reacts always makes me laugh. He stupidly stops punching his goon, turns to face the shoots wide open, and THEN decides to run away. He even runs faster than Catwoman.

Also, It doesn't make me laugh, but the part where Batman lands his plane next to Gordon/Selina after Talia's truck has landed on the lower level of the street, he runs to attach a wire from the Bat to the bomb all while yelling something.
I don't know what the hell he says and I've seen this movie 4 times.

It's not the accent or the distortedness that bothers me, it's how high pitched it gets in places. It just sounds really off, and doesn't fit with the mood the actual words are trying to create.

It makes takes me out of the moment, and makes me laugh.

Which is a shame, because there are moments like the 'Do you feel in control' line, where Bane literally owns.

This bomb is MOWWBIIIIILE and the EYEDENTUHTEE of dA TRIGGAHMANN is A MEEESTAHREE.

When Bruce attempts to climb out of the pit a second time and falls. Some people in the audience laughed while he was dangling.

I know it wasn't meant to be funny but the weird look Batman does when Talia stabs him, the mask already makes Bale look odd because he never has his mouth closed but he had a funny expression I felt was rather funny.

Bane: Sooo, you came back to die with your city?

Batman: No. I came back to stop you.

Bane using Batman's own fist to punch him. "Stop hitting yourself" I thought. lol

You've all covered most of the good scenes already but I have to echo how laughable Talia's death was.

A few more:

  • At some point in the last 30 - 40 minutes of the movie (can't remember when/where exactly) Batman enters a room where an armed goon is guarding Talia. The guy immediately charges Batman with his arm extended and pistol aimed right at his face, only to be knocked down effortlessly an instant later. This got spittle-through-pursed-lips laughter out of me. It's as if he traded weapons with Talia at some point and completely forgot.
  • Selina's reaction right after Batman says, "this isn't a car." Honestly if Batman slapped her ass for a job well done right after the preceding fight, that's the expression she'd have.
  • The cop getting his hat blown off as the Bat makes its first appearance.
  • Not really laugh out loud funny, but the word "heist" is misspelled in a newspaper headline when Bruce is looking up Selina's criminal history. Interesting how that snuck by right under Nolan's nose given his movie tastes!
