Drama USA's Suits - Part 1

I need to binge this series sometime this summer. I had a German friend who was quite obsessed a few years ago.

Was Meghan really pals with all of them or are they just enjoying the courteous invite to meet the Queen?

Probably. She is the one who made them more accessible to the public and danced with the likes of Clint Eastwood.

I wonder how much publicity Grace Kelly got when she became Princess of Monaco?

She was friends with them. She went to Paris with Rick Hoffman to accompany him to a wedding when his date broke up with him and he didn't have anyone to go with. A very Rachel sort of thing to do.

And she was good friends with Sarah Rafferty and Abigail Spencer.

I thought she was friends with Amanda Schull too, but she wasn't at the wedding.

But none of the Suits cast were invited to the smaller evening reception at Frogmore House. But somehow the likes of George Clooney and his wife were, as were Serena Williams and Priyanka Chopra.

And they should have just invited the Obamas. Trump and his ego be damned. Somehow John Major the former UK prime minister scored an invite even though they said they weren't inviting any politicians (which was done so they wouldn't have to invite Trump).

She did get a lot at the time so I've read. She was a big Hollywood movie star. Still one of the all time greats.

Not really keen on Katherine Heigl in this show. She's usually the death of a series.

It seems like the last season just ended because it ran so late, and it's already coming back in July now in just over a month.

Did anyone watch the season premiere of Suits Season 8?

Here is the new opening credits and title sequence. It doesn't show any of the actors' faces like before.

There's more focus on Katrina now, played by Amanda Schull. They've also introduced Katherine Heigl, who doesn't seem all that interesting so far.

I'm surprised that Wendell Pierce isn't in the regular cast credits. He's now going to be the first named partner on the logo of the firm.

Finally some closure.

I wonder if they will bring Mike Ross back for part of the final season at least. I guess they won't get Meghan Markle (aka The Duchess of Sussex) though.

If he does appear for the final episode, Mike will probably say that Rachel is staying behind at home because she's looking after a baby (which Meghan would be doing in real life anyway).

Isn't the show coming back this week? Or is it next week?

So in the latest Suits episode, I find it hard to believe that after Katrina stood up to Samantha and refused to do what she asked that, just because Donna showed up, they would all go out drinking together afterwards. Even if Katrina came up with a different solution, in these sorts of environments it's often all about pride and wanting to make sure the other person (especially if they are less senior than you) does what you say. It would seem more likely that Samantha would hold a grudge against Katrina, even if secretly.

I don't really know of anyone who so readily goes off drinking together and socialises like that after having a class of personalities and wills.

In fact, I don't really know of anyone who operates in real life like you see people do in films or TV where people simply respect the other, or even come away with a better understanding of the other person after they start off on the wrong foot.

They bond over being women.

This week they got someone who looked like she could definitely have been Donna's mother. The resemblance between Sarah Rafferty and Lolita Davidovitch is strong. But the young Donna looked nothing like Sarah Rafferty at all. I find it hard to believe she would've grown up into her.

So in the season 8 finale of Suits, Harvey and Donna finally got together at the end. But that was unexpected. What has happened to her relationship with Thomas Kessler? I know he was questioning who she is to Harvey (that Harvey would not want Donna to be implicated), but that doesn't mean that their relationship was suddenly over. Didn't they have a good thing going? Kessler also seems a man of integrity, so why would Donna just abandon him? Although we knew it was inevitable, I thought they would at least have a scene where Donna says she can't be with him anymore, or vice versa. But there was none of that.

And Zane has lost his licence to practise law, so I guess he won't be around next season. The firm will be back to being Specter Litt Wheeler Williams.

But if he was going to lose his licence, then why didn't he simply retire as proposed by Rand Kaldore? That would've allowed Daniel Hardman to join that firm and Zane wouldn't have gone down with his reputation in tatters.

Next season will only be 10 episodes as opposed to 16. I think they're planning to continue the Darvey storyline. They might try to also get Mike Ross back for a cameo. The creators said though that there was probably zero chance of getting Meghan Markle back for an appearance.

In other news, the Suits spin-off with Gina Torres has been renamed Pearson from its previous title of Second City. I preferred the original title, but I guess I can understand why they might've wanted to use Pearson because of the name familiarity from Suits. Although couldn't they have come up with a term similar to "Suits" to describe the world of politics?

Anyone catch the season premiere this week? They're picking up right where they left off in January with Harvey and Donna together. They're also dealing with the fallout from Zane and trying to get his name removed. His name was never up there that long anyway, so it won't be such a big loss if it goes.

Denise Crosby showed up at the end. She reminds me of Carrie Anne Moss now in those few minutes she was on screen. Maybe it's her voice or personality, or a little bit of the way she looks, even though her hair is a different colour. I didn't think of Tasha Yar as the first thing.

Anyone catch the first episode of Pearson with Gina Torres? I tried watching it but didn't get very far. It felt rather boring and too serious, and I don't find the characters very interesting at all. Not a patch on Suits.

I started this show recently and it's been really good. Love the lead characters.

Oh yeah, just look at him he belongs in the Suits 'cinematic universe '

I hope he's not still playing Oliver Queen, because he was boring. If he tells someone in a deep and slightly distorted voice "you need to stand down" then we'll know he's doing a repeat.

We'll soon get Emily Bett Rickards as his ex wife.
