Longevity seems to run in that family (at least maternally), since The Queen Mother died 50 years after her husband did and the Queen will probably live as long as her mother if not longer.

How can the show go on if Mike leaves? In a way the show has moved on from Mike being a central figure and now it's more of a regular law show. It'll be interesting to see where it goes without Mike.

Suits Renewed for Season 8

Suits isn’t going anywhere — despite the departures of Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle.

USA Network has renewed the long-running legal drama for Season 8, TVLine has learned.


Returning for the upcoming run are original series stars Gabriel Macht, Sarah Rafferty and Rick Hoffman, as well as new series regular Dulé Hill (who plays Alex Williams). Longtime cast members Adams and Markle will exit the show with the Season 7B finale, while Gina Torres is poised to get her own spinoff.

Well it makes sense for Adams and Markle to leave at the same time. At least they don't have to come up with some ridiculous plot to kill one of them off or have them break up. They can just get married and ride off into the sunset to live out the rest of their lives.

What I want to know though is when it's coming back. Is it in Feb? Normally it's in January. Why the delay?

Are they trying to time it to happen just before the royal wedding?

I also want to know which Suits cast members are going to be at the wedding. Rumours are that Amanda Schull might possibly be one of Meghan Markle's bridesmaids. We'll see about that.

But there definitely will be Suits actors there. The royal staff have been told to watch all 7 seasons of the show to familiarise themselves with the actors in advance of the wedding.

Apparently the second half of season 7 won't return until 28 March. The finale will air on 25 April.

That's a long time to go. Normally it's back in January and finishes by about March. Then there's a longer break between that season and the start of the next one in July.

Heigl will star opposite Gabriel Macht as Samantha Wheeler, a talented new partner at Pearson Specter Litt who challenges the status quo and will either become the firm's greatest ally or most powerful enemy.

I think that Aaron Korsh thought that USA are going to keep renewing this series indefinitely even when they expected to end this year after Patrick J Adams and Meghan Markle left.

So he must've spoken to his crew and said "What can we do to bring this series to a quick end? I have other fish to fry. Otherwise we'll be making this show until we're old and grey."

And then when someone heard the word "grey" they immediately thought of Katherine Heigl and said "Let's get her in. She'll get the show axed midway through the season."

Suits Promotes Amanda Schull to Series Regular for Season 8


Suits won’t be lacking in girl power despite the departures of original stars Meghan Markle and Gina Torres.

The USA Network drama has promoted Amanda Schull — who recurs as junior partner Katrina Bennett — to series regular for Season 8, TVLine has learned.

The actress — who also stars in Syfy’s 12 Monkeys, which airs its final season this summer — first appeared on the show in Season 2 as an Assistant District Attorney who went on to become Louis’ associate.

“Amanda Schull and Katrina Bennett have been a part of the Suits extended family for years, and I am very excited to welcome them both into our immediate family,” showrunner Aaron Korsh said in a statement. “Katrina will continue her journey on the road to senior partnership while learning some hard new lessons throughout the course of the season.”

Yay. Glad that Amanda Schull is a regular now. I like her but wasn't so fond of 12 Monkeys. I always preferred her Katrina character.

But now I remember that Katherine Heigl will also be joining the cast.

The Suits season finale was rather boring and anti-climactic. I didn't want to see a spin-off of Jessica Pearson's show for that last one. They should've focused more on Mike and Rachel instead, since it was their very last show.

I didn't really like how rushed the wedding was and that it was moved up at the last minute. If they had dedicated the full hour to them, some weeks could've passed and they could've had their wedding. Of course, it would have to be rewritten that the job offer from Seattle was still available even after 6 weeks.

The spin-off doesn't seem all that interesting. I don't know if I'll watch.

I wonder how the new dynamic will be now that there's been a merger with Zane, or rather, he's come over to them as a Senior Partner (and first named). I suppose he'll be bringing Katherine Heigl with him from his firm.

I didn't want to watch a Katherine Heigl show though. Why did they have to get her? Should've just had Amanda Schull as a senior partner instead. I'm glad she's a regular next season.

It was nice to see Lucy... I mean Scottie.

And the Suits cast including Timeless star Abigail Spencer are in England for the royal wedding.

But it seems that Amanda Schull is curiously absent while Christina Cole who played Paula is there.

I can't imagine Amanda has been left out. I thought she was good friends with Meghan.
