Venom has way more of a fan base then those two and u know it. the evidence is on these boards.

that's not true at all. GG and dock ock has been around from the BEGINNING. 1960s. venom's relatively new, and with the GG or Dock Ock, spider-man's universe would be COMPLETELY different than what it is today.

maybe people talk about venom more on these boards cause we're all pumped for the new movie, not the old ones.

oh, and these boards don't account for the entire population of the world.

thank you.

it's not like i'm....HOPING they kill off venom. i'd be happy if brock or the symbiote were still around after the finale. the venom story should end there, though.

Since Raimi is apparently not a Venom fan, which seems kind of obvious with the re-imaging he seems to be doing on the character [we don't even know what his personality or story is], I wouldn't hold high hopes of Venom living thru this one.

As I said,if Ock and Goblin can be "killed off", then Venom has an even bigger chance of it.

Thank you. I've been trying to figure this out:

What siginificanct event other than his prescence did Venom bring to Spidey's universe?

Nothing. Not one damn significant thing other than discovering Spider-Man's identity, but what has he done with that?? Again nothing. He hasn't had a decent story since the early 90's.

Marvel seem to have finally run into a dead end with him, hence why the Scorpion is now running around as the new Venom.

okay Cmill if u dont really like the character then why u got Brock as your avater ? Not trying to be a smart ass but its a logical question , no

dude...the kid still loves venom. it doesn't matter if he likes the GG more. we all love venom. we just have different opinions on his story aspects.

and ALL of the villians have found out spidey's identity at one point or another....

Don't any of you get it? Snowgoblin, Sandbox, VINO, they're all gonna get it in the end. I think it's a greek tragedy.

Electro, the Vulture,Mysterio,Carnage,a couple of the Hobgoblins,Rhino,Shocker, the Lizard and oh so many more have not discovered his identity.

If we get Brock's movements in the Bugle, the symbiote, Brock going to the church because everything is falling apart, him getting the symbiote, and him in an epic battle at the end? Really, that's not that big of a deal.

As I pointed out earlier, Venom was given a three-part miniseries in 90s toon and really, the first two parts were just about the symbiote's possession of Spidey and Brock's relationship with Peter/Spidey. Venom himself got only one episode all to himself. Hell, how many did the Hobgoblin APPEAR in? Better yet, how many did Doc Ock appear/star in? Or GG?

They have run into a dead end with most of teh spidey villains at this point not just venom

1.) I have TOPHER GRACE in my avy because I think he looks great in the Brock getup.

2.) I like Brock/Venom. He's a solid character. Do I like him more than GG? Hell No. Doc Ock? Not really.

well they were talking with molina about possibly bring doc ock back...and if done right, it could work, and i would love to see him again.

Carnage knew who Spider-Man was. Remember the Petey, Petey-O scribbling on the wall? However, it was erased afterwards. I'm sure you know what, and who i'm talking about.

I'd also like to point out that part one and two were also consumed by Kingpin,Smythe,Rhino and Shocker.

Venom himself got only one episode all to himself. Hell, how many did the Hobgoblin APPEAR in?

Seven episodes for Hobby.

Better yet, how many did Doc Ock appear/star in? Or GG?

13 for Ock,four for GG [Norman],but he appeared as Norman Osborn in lots of other episodes, for example he originally hired the Hobgoblin to kill Kingpin.

Goblin and octopus may have played bigger roles in the history of spidey but Venom is just awesome thats really the best way to put it i guess

we all know that. but that doesn't make him more awesome than GG or Dock Ock. that doesnt mean he deserves two movies for himself.

Ya know? :D

Brock was hardly "super developed" in that miniseries, and yet I felt like the character was handled well.

Seven episodes for Hobby.

Which is ridiculous I might add. :down

I loved that they brought Ock as the Spider-Man Universe villain for the Secret Wars. Smart choice. ;)

Pffft, yes it does.

I didn't buy that.If Carnage had the slightest clue who Spider-Man was,MJ or Aunt May or Peter himself would have been visited by Kasady.

He's not exactly the subtle, plan from the shadows type of villain ;)

I like Venom, when he's written correctly. But I can count the amount of decent Venom stories on one hand.Marvel over did the whole anti hero rubbish angle they did with him.

He went from Spidey's antagonist to a self appointed Punisher type villain.

but just to introduce a well known villian at the end, and a favorite to the majority of people, and then just kill him off, many fans will be very upset. i think he should get a a chance to do a little destruction in another film, but definitely end it in the next.

They have been around a hell of a lot longer obviousley so yeah thats why they were in more episodes. That was like in 93 or 94 so Venom was still relativley new dont forget

I personally feel that most of Venom's coolness isn't so much venom himself, it's everything that happened regarding spidey, the symbiote, and so on. it's the plot. Venom is like an add on to the symbiote story line.

I also think that most of what Carnage has to offer the story spidey mythos is character development for Venom.

by himself? I don't think Carnage would do good in a spidey movie by himself. He's just a guy who looks cool and kills people. There is like nothing else to him. The only way he should be brought in is if Venom is in that same movie, and carange merely serves to help develop Venom's character.

Hence, why I said "knew".

Just wanted to throw out a few thoughts on SM3

I was reading that part about Venom appearing in the last 10 minutes of Spider-Man 3 and then all of a sudden it hit me. If Venom is only in SM3 for the last ten minutes, then it's obviously a set up for SM4! So my guess is that MJ gets killed off in SM3 (her contract is up,remember?) GS is the new love from here on out, and the Venom rivalry segue ways into SM4.

So what do you guys think about this?

i wouldn't want to see carnage at all in the spidey films.

if they do a spin off with venom, then by all means do carnage, but he doesn't belong in the spidey films.
