I was on the edge of me seat with the clone saga for a while, untill it got to the end. then it sucked. I think it was a good plot, gone bad by greedy marvel guys who wanted to suck as much money as they could out of it and ended up killing the spider-man world for years.

Since Raimi is apparently not a Venom fan,which seems kind of obvious with the re-imaging he seems to be doing on the character [we don't even know what his personality or story is], I wouldn't hold high hopes of Venom living thru this one.

As I said,if Ock and Goblin can be "killed off", then Venom has an even bigger chance of it.



Nothing.Not one damn significant thing other than discovering Spider-Man's identity,but what has he done with that?? Again nothing.He hasn't had a decent story since the early 90's.

Marvel seem to have finally run into a dead end with him, hence why the Scorpion is now running around as the new Venom.

All the villains are pretty much at a dead end now dude.....gg wouldnt have been as big as he was if he didnt kill gwen. Venom stalked mj and aunt may and even scared her so much spidey needed to change back to the old suit. He just stands out as a villain cause he purely and truely hates spiderman.Though hes a villain....he still has a little bit of hero in him, Its why he stands out...hes different compared to your gg's and doc ocks.

Lol gg aint doin to well either......in ultimate spider-man hes a mindless beast like the hulk, but instead of sayin ArgGHH RAGGHHH BETTY he says ARRGGH PARKERRRRRR ARRGGHRRUGHH. I think id take the venom scorpion.....its the writers not the chars.

he's not about fighting, or looking cool, and being around.
his story is about spidey's struggle with the symbiote, brock's personal struggles, and then brock and the symbiote.

the DRAMA is what makes venom so cool. not his tongue, or him being really muscular.

Yeah Mr popular didn't even get a movie to himself like GG and Ock.Why?? Because he's not as important as they are.He wasn't even considered for the first two movies.They originally wanted Ock in SM-1.They set their minds on him from the get go.And you can hear that on the SM-2 special features.

Heck Venom was the least used villain in the bloody cartoon show as well,as we discussed earlier.

Just because the writers screwed up his story and gave him bad storylines doesen't mean he isan't popular, marketable or unable to carry a movie.

Venom IS popular in the lines of GG and Doc ock. You walk to a random person on the street and ask them to name 1 spiderman villian they're going to say Green Goblin, Doc Ock, or Venom. You're telling me bad guys like the Vulture, Kraven and Rhino are more important then Venom?

Venom is popular more for his image then for his story. He is popular for his powers, his image, and even his lines ( We will eat your brains! ) . Venom's sadistic humour is VERY entertaining. Especially when he sings "Stranger in the night"

His voice, his image, his powers... just as long as they keep his story true to the comics, I'm sure he can carry multiple movies by himself.

There's a reason why Venom was the only Spiderman villian in games like Marvel Vs. Capcom

Green Goblin and Doc Ock are good, don't get me wrong. But Venom is Venom, badass regardless of what the writer's do with him.

You don't know if Venom is thrown into the movie with Sandman and GG. No one knows much except Venom is in it for 10 minutes. You really think all three are going to fight Spidey at once? From what we know, Venom himself is going to be in it for 10 minutes, and logically that'll set him up for Spiderman 4.

Man no one beat up spider-man the way venom did...........spider-man was affraid of him. Spider-Man only beat venom once Fairly and it was in a stupid way (amazing spiderman 300) everyother time he got fantastic four help everytime. And everytime venom got close to the kill something besides Spider-man got in the way.

I dont recall Spiderman asking the ff to help him take out Electro.
And yes venom is Spider-mans most fan fav villain overall. Its why theres so much venom merchandise and why every crossover from Spider-man video game always contains venom (marvel vs capcom 1 and 2). And why his 1st appearance in ultimate spiderman was harder to find then anyother villains.

I know story concerning venom aint that good now, but you can only blame the writers......I can think of atleast 100 ways to write a good Venom story.

Venom had a good run in the cartoon and made many appearances and had sagas dedicated to him......to tell the truth kingpin i think was the most used sm cartoon villain and as you know hes quite unpopular. and why is venom playable in usm the game???

Just because Venom wasen't in the cartoon as much as other villians doesen't mean that should determine his popularity or the role in the movies.

The Kingpin isan't popular and neither was the Hob Goblin but they were in the series ALL the time.

Sandman wasen't in the series once and Doctor Octopus was defeated by Mousie the cab driver.

Besides, Venom appeared towards the end of the series that only had 4 seasons. If it kept going, Venom would of eventually been in it the most.
