Veronica Mars

Ending line with Duncan "CW?" . . . ."It's a done deal"

Think it means they'll be surviving into season 3?

A little old but...

TVGuide.com: On the topic of whether Duncan actually ever succumbed to Kendall's charms, Mars creator Rob Thomas said here at TVGuide.com, "Duncan's not built that way." Is that ego-deflating for you to hear or — and this is my theory — is Duncan simply built the wrong way?
Carpenter: The latter! [Laughs] I guess Kendall is just not very discerning about to whom she gives her body. But, given some new insights I've been given from Rob, apparently everything has a purpose and a meaning. My character's IQ is about to jump up about 50 points, did he tell you that? Things are about to become very clear.

TVGuide.com: What, has Kendall been putting on some sort of act?
Carpenter: [Coyly] I guess.... Rob likened her to Annette Bening in The Grifters, which as you know is an amazing role. I was like, "Really? That's goooood!" I just love those people [at Veronica Mars]. They're awesome.

I wasn't sure whether I should bump this or just let a new one start now that the new networks launched. Then I decided I didn't care, but I was going to bump this anyway so that people could waste precious time reading this.

I'm really hoping that Gilmore Girls helps pull in an audience for V Mars, but then later on doesn't cater to them, because that would be horrible.

I'd think the GG audience wouldn't be able to hold much interest given the yip-yap, fast-talking their accustomed to.

Just saw the premiere online.

I've gotta say... Pretty good. You could tell in the first few acts that Rob was REALLY writing down to the Gilmore Girls crowd, trying to hold onto his lead in, but towards the end, they got right back to the cool, Veronica Mars-y twists, such as
Kendall's death and Parker's rape
.

Watched it streaming tonight myself. More spoilers:
Not the most amazing episode ever, but it was really but as a season opener to set stuff up, it worked really well. SO glad to see all these characters again! And the dialogue was so snappy! Veronica really felt perfectly Veronica-y again, if that makes sense. And BSG references! Yay! And I am so, so glad that Tina Marjorino is a regular this year. Mac is awesome.

Loved the new credits. Seemed more grownup, but kept the song, which was really all I wanted anyway. :)

Logan and Veronica - still together, who expected it? I figured they'd break up again over the summer. Was it just me or did he seem more into her than she was into him?

Like the way the Rapist mystery ties back in to the episode from last season.

And BSG references! Yay!

If she ends up with Piz I will be very sad:(

The new credits are sweet, but I'm not sure the remixed song matches with it. Mac seems really downtrodden this year. Her hair doesn't even have the coloured streaks in it.

Dick is just so completely ****ed up this year. Logan taking him in was a great gesture. Logan seems to be in a much better place than last year, when he was practically suicidal.

I also really loved the very small Lilly reference. Good to see the show hasn't forgotten her.

Oh, what was it? I missed that! Man, I loved Lily. I always thought it was so amazing the show made you care about her so much, and you never even saw her "alive".

It was just [BLACKOUT]Piz's comment about "your friend who got murdered" when they were staking out the house at the end.[/BLACKOUT]

Tiny mention. Got a huge reaction out of me, since I had been noticing all through the show how far we've gotten from season 1, and the Lilly mystery.

I hate one of you a little bit.

It's JL.

Did Dick get smarter? I mean on season 1 and 2 he did a bunch of mean sh** but he was stupid while doing it. But in the premire, after he was talking to Mac and the lady caught him in the dorm, he started saying stuff and he was being a smartass, instead of a dumbass. I dont know, it was probably just me....

JL, yeah, I totally missed that. Though it makes me feel tons of love for the show when they make the effort to remember Lily, even a little bit. :)

I think he was a little bit of both? I know I'm about to be really lame but his t-shirt choices always seemed to say "smartass" more than "dumbass"?

Can't wait to see the first episode of the third season.

I'm especially curious as to what the season-long mystery is going to be. I liked the bus-crash plotline from season two, but didn't think it lived up to the Lilly Kane murder mystery. I hope season three's is back up to season 1 standards.
I'm also curious to find out how the show is gonna work now that Veronica et al. are no longer at Neptune High.

Anyone else hoping George Michael Bluth and Maeby Fünke (from Arrested Development) will still be attending Hearst College ? :)

I thought that Rapes of Graff episode was so weird, seeing as Alia Shawkat and Michael Cera (currently respectively 17 and 18 years old) had to pass for older than Kristen Bell (currently 26).

I liked the season premiere. As a new watcher of the show, seemed like there were a couple storylines were leftover from last season, hopefully I'll understand them a little better as the season progresses. The rapist storyline seems interesting though, the show definitely requires a lot of attention though.

The new opening credits suck.:cmad:

I don't like that they all go to the same school.:cmad:

I wanted to see more than five seconds of Charisma Carpenter.:cmad:

I wasn't impressed by anything.:cmad:

I want a philly cheese steak.:cmad:

The new opening credits do suck. :(
It's not so much the visuals, but that toned down, completely ball-less version of 'We Used To Be Friends' that sucks major cock.

I really liked the season premiere though. Damn funny stuff.
I didn't completely (as in : at all) get the whole Keith and ex-con road-trip plot though...

I liked everything about the season premeire except the new craptular credits. I mean who thought they should have changed the opening credits?

I like the visuals, but I don't like the Dandy Warhols remix. I'd actually like to see the new visuals mixed with the old music, I'd like to see how it'd look.
