Viola Davis' Amanda Waller Posted In This Thread, Then Threw Away The Thread!

I'd like to see Viola as Waller in a future DC film, perhaps Justice League or the solo Batman film.

I think she will be in the solo Batman film. You can see the sparks fly
between Davis and Affleck
in that one scene.

Viola was the best part of this film for me, hands down.
Absolutely one of my favorite performances in a comic book movie. She nailed it.

Viola was great, but I think her role in the film wasn't very challenging for someone as talented as her. She kinda played a one-note badass. (CCH Pounder could've played this Waller probably given her work on The Shield) A lot of what makes Waller an interesting character in the comics is how she navigates politicians and contemplates the nature of the Squad and its members with the psychiatric staff, so I would've liked to see more of the latter. Of course, that's a far more complex movie than we what got and would've required more time and less bombastic action so of course that couldn't happen.

Still excited to see more of her in the future.

I imagine Waller would good in Justice League, maybe at the end trying to get the JL to come under government control but they refuse thus keeping Task Force X and ARGUS in place.

Having seen Amanda Waller in the DCEU, I want to see another morally dubious character like Niles Caulder appear in a DC film.

Viola as Amanda and Amanda as character were amazing! I hope she's in next DCEU films a lot. :woot: Loved her.

Yeah she was great, killed the role totally and had some awesome moments of bad assery.

I hope we see more of her. I really need a BIG badass moment when she just puts someone in their place, shuts them down, make them shudder, have them cry.

Everyone was good in this film. That said Viola took it IMO. I want to see President Luthor put the screws to her and pit her against Batman and the Justice League.

Viola was great. I bought her as Waller. All the main characters were well cast.

I got the impression that maybe Waller unleashed Enchantress on purpose to test out the Suicide Squad, but then Enchantress became uncontrollable and Waller's plan blew up in her face. I could be wrong.

Imagine if Oprah was cast in the role lol. I think they would have toned her down and made her less ruthless.

Haha, I remember those early casting rumors that said Oprah was their frontrunner. I have nothing against her but I REALLY didn't want to see her in the role. Viola was great, I just wish the movie around her was better.

She was one of the few highlights of the film for me. Just perfect casting. Would definitely like to see her in future movies.

Yeah. I hope they don't go full nutbar with her like they did on Arrow. "There are about 20 mercenaries with enhanced abilities attacking people in Starling City. LET'S JUST NUKE THE PLACE AND BE DONE WITH IT."

Shooting those agents was full nut bar.

There were hundreds of those mirakuru soldiers. Not that that justifies Waller wanting to bomb the city, but Sara did get the LoA involved so they were a big threat.

She killed those agents and later brought up that they didn't have high enough clearance. The reason she killed them is probably because she doesn't want the news that what happened in Midway is actually her fault and that is also why the event was being labelled as a terrorist attack.

Technically speaking, the Midway City Incident *was* a terrorist attack. Waller is just leaving out the fact that it was committed by someone previously ( as in "the hour before" ) in her employ. ;)
