I really question some of the calls on the FX. I mean, making the entire living room CGI for the Jean vs. Xavier sequence??? What was the point of that?

How many times have you seen that sequence?...I mean, REALLY looked at it?

I agree - they did a really nice job of it (IMHO at least) - so at least it wasn't totally wasted.

I liked it actually. I thought the whole scene was flawless.

And the living room CGI served to show how powerful Jean's become.

I still don't understand how and why the firebird was cut out. Those designs were beyond astonishing.

I'm not sure...It seems that the Colossus/Juggernaut thing was scrapped very early and was replaced with the Kitty/Juggernaut thing. I'm not sure whether one would've been cheaper or taken less time to do, but we haven't gotten all of the facts on that to be sure...

I would've been fine if they didn't have a Colossus/Juggernaut fight in the movie. Juggernaut's role in the movie was fine, but I just think that Colossus was a little bit underused in the film. Showing him fight Juggernaut would've been nice (although seen before in other films), but I don't think it would've been necessary...There are other things that they could've done with Pete..

I'm not saying the CGI wasn't better than no CGI. Just that I don't know if the time/effort that went into was well spent.

I don't see why it ALL had to be CGI if it soo much work was involved. I'd have rather seen an improved Colossus or some Phoenix Flames.

EDIT: I'd totally go check it out again online, but now I'm home from school with gorram dial-up. I'm totally willing to concede that scene was all kinds of awesome. Again, I just don't think I'd delegate things the same way if I were in charge.

they didnt metal his hair up like they did in X3 as well in the comics..

Because they needed his entire head to be transformed when the shrapnel blew over and bounced off him and Rogue in the Danger Room sequence..

Not only that, but there is probably more realism there. I mean, here you have a guy who's like, physically invulnerable, yet if he ran through a burning building transformed, you're telling me that this is the same guy whose hair couldn't catch on fire if it looked like that?

People shouldn't give X3Colossus such a hard time for something so minor...

I don't like to count that photo since it wasn't really officially displayed on the official site..It wasn't even there for 2 weeks before they officially slapped on that photo of Daniel in a suit and put it on the site with Colossus' bio..

They were mostly using that background stunt suit as a basis for that photo anyway...

Just dug up this old promo shot from X2. You are right, it does appear that his hair isn't metalled up.
