This picture captures a problem I have with Routh's Superman look. His look was soft, almost meek at times and uncertain. Personally that is not how I picture Supes.

But the actor in this photo projects ruggedness, certitude, power and intensity. That is the look Superman should project IMO.

Don't worry dark_b, other than quoting you here I won't. You and I totally agree on this as I expect most fans do. Bringing the exact same team back with no changes at all would be crazy IMO but I don't know if WB cares enough about the franchise to demand changes.

BTW, I think it was 10 - 20 million wasted on these cut RTK scenes. Ironically they are probably the most powerful stuff SR had aside from the plane rescue scene.

Ottman should not have been both editing and writing the score. Editing a large film is on its own a full-time job.

They can make him badass if they choose him to be, its all about direction.

I am not sure that they can - Routh just does not have a "tough" look in aany of the head shots I've seen of him. But they obviously did not even try in SR so guess it is possible.

Obviously they didnt try in SR, he didnt have to fight anything in it.

For all we know the sequel may be all fighting and no story, you may get your 'toughness' in spades.

As far as Routh facially, he should be able to mimic Reeve's 'angry' look if anything.

Next time I'm in L.A. I'll break the windows on his car and see how he looks, sounds like a plan.

Think about how disappointing that would be. We need to keep things in perspective. You don't go from Lex Luthor, normal man with intellect that beats up Superman with kryptonite to Darkseid, god of Apokolips and enemy of Highfather of New Genesis.

if they use darkseid in nr2 then they have to use him in nr3..
orelse it whould be just stupid.. like when burton killed joker in the first batman movie..

Darkseid is TOO big for one movie.. but they will never make a JL movie so he has to be use in superman.. but in a 2 or more movie arc.. the best way to do it without getting to repetitive is to have darkseid beeing the master mind and having others (Brainiac and doomsday) work for him..
