"No real strength", "no fighting skills" and BTW, you don't need to lift weights to be strong. Some people are naturally extremely strong.

Superman doesn't loose his Adonis body nor does he shrink and becomes a dwarf. He would still be a impressive bulit guy who is taller than 6'3''. Even without "skills" most people couldn't not trash him - at least not in the way it happend in that restaurant.

Yes, I know it, about the "show him the mistake" but they should have at least used more guys - like a gang. And he should have fought back.
He wasn't used to having to fight back. And he was used to people instantly respecting him as Superman. As Superman, he would show up, the humans would have an "Oh crap look" and become instantly meek as there is nothing they could do. He did not have the survival skills. He was trying to get the guy to go outside to have a fair fight as he was always given instant respect once he became Superman, but that was not the case anymore. That is why when he came back as Superman, he fought a dirtier fight than he would have had he not had that experience.

And he was sucker punched from behind and went through a pane of glass. Was the first time he was vulnerable. That is why he was so shocked to see his own blood. He was very much out of his element.

been done if you ever bothered to watch
Been done....when and where? He was manhandled by Rocky "the bar brute" and accepted his a$$ whuppin. He got man handled by Lex and his goons kicking and screaming to no avail. He showed at one point when Lex was repeatedly kicking him like a dog when he caught Lex foot in mid air that maybe he was going to put forth an effort but I guess the krypto had just taken its toll on him as they proceeded with the beating. It was the one fight we got in the movie and unfortunately it was lopsided like a young Tyson in the first round of a fight. And Supes was the KO.

it just makes him a pathetic guy. Like a bully at school. Tormenting the weaker ones but with guys on and above their level they become silent and shy. Not what Superman is for me.

Reeve did, but he was surprised how mortal he was against that bully
Exactly. It was to show his mortality and his confusion at what it is to be mortal for someone who had been godlike.

I for one am sick of the "take away Superman's powers" plot device. It's been done and it's totally unnecessary.

oh yeah... lol, duh...

see, even Reeve fought back... Routh didn't even do that.

That because Reeve wasn't that powerless like Routh. Not to mention Reeve wasn't exposed to Kryptonite that made Routh more weaker than your typical wuss. That cheating! :p

excuses, excuses, excuses... don't give me them. Routh should of fought just as hard as Reeve did, no matter the situation.

he's Superman, dammit... and the last time I checked, Superman try to just sit there and take a beating like a b***h... unless, of course, Singer's Superman wasn't really Superman.

To be fair here, in the diner Clark was sucker punched. Did he really have a chance after that. His demeanor tho was still super indeed.

Depending on what is used as accepted canon.... any Kryptonian's body is physically the superior of any Terran, in every respect, hence even a Superman stripped of his super-powers should still be formidable.

1) Kill the kid
2) Fix the Costume
3) Consider a new Lois, or at least make Kate Bosworth look as hot as we know she can.
4) Can Richard...I like the guy, but Lois is Supes' gal...make it right!

i did vote for the marketing thing. was completly wrong. like the graphic design, the posters was so bad!

i did add some of the things who can change, some "universal" things. i did like to add things like:

*routh's hair
*the kid again (if somebody didnt notice)
*the \s/ on the belt
*lois
*the superman love crisis
*the superman stupid things (like the hospital scene, almost kill him really that scene...) or the superman vs the guys punching him.

I want a superman suffering for people, with all his strong, vs a real villian more powerfull than him, i want the suit destroyer and people crying for him. and epic legendary scenes of the comics who are fantastic.

It's funny how Routh's hair looks much darker in real life than in Superman Returns, probably due to the lighting. Honestly there were shots where it looked medium brown.

I want a hard PG-13 rated film. Not because I feel that Superman should be hard PG-13, but I feel that villains like Lex Luthor, Brainiac, and Metallo should be hard PG-13 villains.

Lex should be cunning, calculated, charismatic, and charming. But at the same time, ruthless, merciless, cold, and homicidal. I want to see Lex shoot someone. It's been long enough. It was great to see him stab Superman in the back with the Kryptonite, that was my favorite scene (one of them) in Superman movie history. But I want to see him shoot someone in the face, point blank like in Superman: Doomsday. I want to see him as a terrible nemesis deserving to be Superman's greatest foe. I want him to be a grave threat.

Brainiac it is enough said. He should be dark, sinister and have no problem killing as many people as it takes to get to Superman. I would do him like the Animated Series did. I would have him a Brainiac/Eradicator hybrid. He would be just as Ra's Al Ghul is to Batman. He would represent everything Kal-El is looking for, a heritage, a family but morally Kal-El cannot join him. Just as Ra's represents an end to Batman's crusade and a father, a wife (in Talia) but because of his methodology Batman can never stand beside Ra's. I want that dynamic with Superman and Brainiac.

Metallo is simple for him to be dark. He was a killer before he got a metal skeleton.....now he's superpowered and unstoppable with a killers mind. I would want to see him tear people apart.

Bottom line: I want the threats to be real this time. Not a giant rock in the ocean, or an earthquake in California. I want people to die. I want people murdered. THAT is how you make Superman fail. Each death is a loss for him. I also want what Zingo wants, "I want a superman suffering for people, with all his strong, vs a real villain more powerful than him, i want the suit destroyer and people crying for him. and epic legendary scenes of the comics who are fantastic".

That's the changes I'd make for Man of Steel.

Here's an idea for the revamp of the suit.

Of course after brightening the colors, there is a simple repair of the back-story which could make the suit a bigger symbol if the plot involved Brainiac. The mystery of the clothing’s fabric has a special ability to repair itself upon being damaged. You can see this in Superman's kryptonite wound in Superman Returns after Luthor stabs him several times. There is little explanation behind how his suit has this power, it just happens without ever a second thought, and upon his reawakening at the hospital it is completely repaired. It should be mentioned for how this is possible. My idea would involve introducing special developed Kryptonian clothing where the design had self repairing nanites for damage. As it will likely turn out for the origin of Brainiac, he may have had a hand in producing this type of material for soldiers during Zod's uprisings as a means of making sure the rebels brought as much chaos as possible to attract attention.

In controlling it, he could be granted emergency powers by the Kryptonian Council to govern the planet while they focused on the crisis at hand, or vise versa for the war. His suit could be a tiny piece of a much larger plot which would involve Brainiac hacking into technology all across Krypton and manipulating every single piece of technology and bending it to his will.

Of course how would Kal-El come across this type of suit if not being in the possession of his parents? Of course behind Jor-El's suspicion of Brainiac, would it be impossible that he has proof where Brainiac was manipulating the governing body of Krypton for his own needs? I find that this would fit into the evidence of a power play the Jor-El decided to present the damning evidence to the council to remove Brainiac from power. It could of course be easy to assume that Brainiac simply knew of his plan through spying with the technology of the suit and instead hides the evidence upon being presented. This kills Jor-El's credibility with the council, who soon threaten to arrest him if he creates anymore trouble for the government.

Upon returning to home when Krypton is on the verge of disaster, it could be that the earthquake which rumbles the planet in the wake of the core collapse. This is where Jor-El gives his son the suit before sending him off into space. His intention for it: to serve as a means of protecting him from any harm which could overtake young Kal-El on a habitable planet his ship would encounter.

Once on Earth, Brainiac will have the ability to control the suit because of his previous connections to the technology on Krypton. It would give him an upper hand which very few villains would secretly. A simple murder plan could exist where the nanites in Superman’s suit intrude his body and slowly kill him instead with causing his organs to fail. Or perhaps they begin to mutate him where Brainiac could use the Man of Steel to do his bidding, and thus ruining his reputation with humans. Either in helping Luthor, or not he would be after power on Earth and information he did not have which existed on Krypton. It presents a new way to try and kill Superman would have no way of knowing it was going to kill him, unless someone else intervened. He would have means of fighting back, which would make him even more of a powerful being.

They have to keep Singer. I need to know where he was going with the series....

from what I saw, he would of just watered the character down more and more and more until there would be no Superman anymore.

it would just be... Man.

Definitfly the suit, the cast and the style of the script. Oh, and the Kid must go, too!
