Has anyone heard anything about a Voltron live action movie? IMDB has it for 2008 and with Transformers coming out I think its the right time. What do you guys think?

UM...
Hell Yeah!
Voltron would be sweet to see in live-action.
It could be star wars meets...
Well i don't know what lol.
Hopefully next is Gundam.

Voltron reminds me of power rangers.

Haven't heard a thing about this movie. *checks IMDB.com* Under company credits are two production compaines...and no studio. One of the companies did have a hand in making Day after tomorrow and saving private ryan though.

Voltron should remind you of Power Rangers...

PR is pretty much a live action version of the show...

It sort of is, but Voltron is like Empire Strikes Back compared to Power Rangers, superior in EVERY way.

yes i saw, very psyched.

and power rangers is such a low-rent version on voltron it was very disheartening to see.

I wish I still had my Voltron toys. :( Can't wait for this. I don't really remember much, except that the villains would arrive in these giant.. coffins?

as much as the little kid in me wants to see a voltron movie, i'm pretty sure it would never work. maybe a new cartoon series, but never a movie.

The problem with a Voltron movie is that everyone would know how the big battle ends.

It seems like every battle between a Robeast and Voltron ended with tVoltron forming the blazing sword (or what ever it was called) and then chopping the Robeast in half. Kinda made you wonder why he didn´t form the sword right at the start :P

Still, I would love to see a live action version of Voltron.

WEll, something could happen that could prevent Voltron from using the Form Blazing SWord.

Like, it could be destroyed, or stranded in another dimension, or Voltron could not have enough power to wield.

Or maybe the writers can create a monster SOOOO powerful, that not even the Sword can harm him.

Ahh, thanks, I remember now. I found this site as well with all the toys on it and the memories just swarmed back to me.

I must look for on ebay. :up: :up: :up:

I watched it the same time as i watched He-man, Thundercats and Transformers. It was the likely influence of Power Rangers 1- infinity. This should be interesting if Transformers come over well to the big screen. Cause no one who liked the cartoon wants to see it as badly done as Power Ranger mega zords.

Keith=
Hunk=
Lance= Chris Evans
Pidge= Haley Joel Osmet
Princess Allura= Scarlett Johanssen
Coran= Liam Neeson

Lotor= Timothy Olyphant
Zarkon= Alan Rickman
Haggar= Famke Janssen

thats all i can think of for now.

with the impending success of Transformers,

Voltron has to be taken seriously.

as long as they do NOT go the cheezy power rangers route.

damn right :(

i really hope they do justice to the Voltron movie. it would kill me if they screwed with such a classic.

What makes me mad is that people are going to see Voltron and ignorantly think its just a rip off of Power Rangers.

Uh... If Transformers works I am pretty sure Voltron could.

As for the characters:

KEITH: Orlando Bloom
LANCE: Owen Wilson
HUNK: Jack Black
PIDGE: Macauly Culkin???
SVEN: Val Kilmer
PRINCESS ALLURA: Gwenyth Paltrow
