Given that quote from Rawdog Mitchell Flubber about how the movie will feature a new generation of pilots, I’m guessing these are all new characters. I guess I don’t really care that much (I haven’t watched a Voltron cartoon since I was 5) but it’s little weird to me if they don’t just use some canonical characters since we’ve never had them in live action before. Not a huge deal though.

Just keep Dwayne Johnson the hell away from this.

"New generation of pilots" sounds like new characters to me, which I have no issue with. At least now the mitching and boaning will be about how the new pilots suck instead of how they race swapped or gender swapped some of the pilots, heh.

I guess it depends on where you are coming from. From the classic series, yeah, sounds like new characters. From Legendary Defender, that was kind of the set up for the classic pilots. And considering Voltron Force was not exactly well received....

Not that Legendary Defender doesn't have its.... own baggage.
