WandaVision WandaVision: season 1 Episode 9: “Series Finale” (Spoilers)

Disappointed that the two Visions didn't merge; I can't help but wonder why real Vision just flew off, rather than aiding Wanda. Maybe the coding within his programming is in conflict and he needs to find himself again, but he's still around in some capacity, so that's good. He'll be back.

In the comics White Vision had the memories but didn't have the emotional connection to them. So I don't see Wanda & Vision getting back together, but I am glad we will get more Vision. Maybe he will join Nick and Monica in space?

I assumed it was a temporary ability bestowed by Agatha after the reveal, not hard to to assume.

His appearance was slightly changed, and at this point in the story it didn't seem like SWORD was still attempting to identify the residents, so it made it easier to say they overlooked it, especially since they were, like us all, assuming it was actually Pietro.

He was an inside spy to get info out of Wanda (easier to do if she thought he really was her brother) than Agnes attempting to do so herself without screwing things up and being outed.

I can only assume she didn't know what he really looked like since he was, you know, dead and buried somewhere outside the US. Sure if she tried maybe she could have found video of him from those protests shown in AoU, but maybe only SHIELD had that, who knows?

Marvel using EP for misdirection was great to me and worked like a charm. Really, all of this isn't hard to answer or decipher if you stop to think about it for a second. I'm sorry if it angered you, but I thought they played their hand extremely well.

In other words, it’s my responsibility to do the shows job for it, by assuming the answers for myself. I’m not in love with that, but it is what it is, at this point I guess.

One other downside is that this really shows Doctor Strange to not be on top of things. Two magical beings were unleashing literal chaos and he couldn't be bothered to show up or send anyone to check it out? He managed to grab Loki moments after he landed on Earth, but Agatha's antics and Wanda capturing a small town just slipped under his notice?

I know getting him on the show in even a small cameo appearance would have taken some doing. But, this kind of event really does fall under his job. Doctor Strange 2 is going to need to open with him being absolutely swamped with things that he couldn't give the ascension to power of the Scarlet Witch any bit of attention.
Its the same issue Iron Man 3 had. Killian is setting suicide bombers loose across america and kidnapping Pepper and experimenting with former soldiers; the Mandarin is murdering civilians on live TV and kidnapping the president and trying to burn him alive on national TV; an army of superhuman, damn near invincible minions are trying to kill Tony and Rhodey; an american shipping port is being blown up by the minions; and no one calls Nick Fury, SHIELD, Cap, or even Banner. Instead Tony goes to a home depot and makes weapons like some DIY domestic terrosist and tries to do most of it with the worst armor he has which he has to charge with a damn car battery. It's the sort of plot that might have worked before Avengers 1, but seems absurd after Avengers 1.

With that said, this show takes place after the snap and its unknown what kind of effect that's had on the higher planes of existence and Strange and the other sorcerers may be dealing with a lot of fallout. Wanda and Agatha may not be his biggest problem of the week.

misdirection only works when the ultimate conclusion is still satisfying, or the question is left intriguingly open ended, this was a case of the answer being a huge let down for the sake of a stupid joke, this was the Mandarin all over again.

Yeah...that's not true at all.

Loved the Season Finale.

If you're upset that your individual theories didn't come true, I don't know what to tell you. That's not how entertainment works.

Well if you watch a series naturally you will have thoughts on how things will play out etc and when those things don't pan out i have every right to not like the "entertainment" provided

Good finale. One of the better episodes.
I'll rate it an 8.5 out of 10.

I thought the first half of the episode was a bit muddled but thankfully the second half delivered. Some great stuff and a few shining moments, both action and emotion-wise. I do feel a tad disappointed though, i thought they could've chosen better and more exciting narrative roads.

Vision vs Vision - A bit underwhelming because even though the character can be cool and display amazing abilities, they're fighting each other which basically cancels out some of the excitement. Also Vision is dead but he's back to... I guess you can have the cake and eat it too. Meh.

Scarlet Witch - She looked freaking incredible. The moment where it was shown that she cast the spells in the hex gave me chills... really well done conclusion to their battle. "More powerful than the Sorcerer Supreme" What an upgrade.

I also liked the kids "taking care of the military". That was a great line and they worked really well together with a good display of her abilities. The emotional last third was pretty great with SW gradually turning everything back to normal and them going through the motions of a "final" goodbye. Also that last post credits scene was pretty sick and ominous.

Anyone else felt they were teasing something with Jimmy and that line about him being good as a leader?
I hope it's not the last we see of him.
Or Darcy! It was fun seeing her and she didn't really have closure here.

The Quicksilver thing was an epic troll move. I know a lot of people are gonna be upset, but I'm kinda glad, tbh.

The new costume looks better than I'd expected.

Can't wait for Captain Marvel 2.
I'm glad too. I want a recast for the Xmen. The costume looks great.

Can't wait for Captain Marvel 2. And it seems like Monica is also going to be in Secret invasion. Monica is becoming a major player in the MCU and I'm here for it.

I really liked the way this wrapped. Even with Pietro it was clearly to screw with the audience and keep us guessing. They wanted us to be included in the sense of "what all can Wanda do?" and "What's real?".

So loose end wise: White Vision is off some place, Monica is headed to space, Wanda's consequences though clearly she's isolating herself.

Dr. S not being there I'm fine with too. The whole series takes place over maybe 3-7 days. Even though Wanda may have been at the site as much as a week before. Agatha seems like she's constantly looking for new energy to absorb, while Dr. S is in pursuit of knowledge. While he does keep a watch list as evidenced in Ragnarok, it's possible there were no alarms on Wanda because she wasn't seen as a threat. That may change.

No idea how this sets up Spidey 3 and Strange 2. Very dissapointing for me.

Regarding Monica and the soldiers/Hayward not making a fuss about her abilities, I think that the way the scene played out, seemed to suggest, that they all thought it was Billy who made the bullets go through her.

Loved the Finale. I cried when Wanda said goodbye to the twins and Vision, I felt like I was losing them too. At least we still have white Vision even though I don't think he has emotions like the other vision. He has his memories but he has no feelings about it. I like that not everything went back to normal. Thanks to the post credit scenes, I think we'll see the twins again.

I'm glad that the show was focused on Wanda, this is her show and tptb really delivered. I can't wait to see what she does next. Dr Strange MOM has always been my most anticipated CBM and that anticipation just went up after this show, I can't wait.

Anyone else think the end credits scene was like the one from The Incredible Hulk with our hero self isolating in a cabin and trying to control their powers?
I knew it reminded me of something. Excited to see where Wanda goes from here.

I think you mean...

Perfect gif. :funny:

Now I can't avoid but to wonder if the "Multiverse" part of "Multiverse of Madness" jsut refers to alternate dimensions/timelines. Which isn't what it means in the comics but its kinda how the first Strange movie used the term.

Dan Murrell also compared it to this:

I also hated that Pietro had super speed, but he was just an actor hired by Agatha. Did she put a spell on him to create his speed? What happens to him now?
She could have been stealing the super speed, transplanting it onto Ralph, through one of the twins... without the kid feeling it, boom. Hell, the kids and Vision were “manifested” and we know Agatha could interpret Wanda’s powers off of her.

This isn’t that hard.
