M**********r!

I'm kind of shocked by this news. I really shouldn't be but it just doesn't feel right. I'm not entirely against remakes / reboots either but some things are better left alone or need more time.
This is what happens when you put idiots in control of multi million dollar movies companies and give them the mindset of allowing no new ideas. I dont understand the lure of remaking every 80's movie and being stuck in that era. I can understand if you want your audience to know about those movies but christ there classics for a reason. Instead of trying to remake movies like lethal weapon, total recall, karate kid and others just pay some new, younger and hungry writers who have ideas and make new movies for the audience. I dont know why there is such a scare like mindset from hollywood to make new movies. besides avatar and district 9 what was the last big original idea hollywood churnned out?
Obviously this movie needs Channing Tatum and Tyler Perry. I probably shouldn't have said that. WB might be reading this and get inspiration.
But seriously. I hope you guys are ready for a Back To The Future remake. It's going to happen. It really is inevitable. The entire world will weep. I keep telling myself everyday, "Today is the day that they will announce the Back To The Future remake," and I have to look in the mirror and emotionally prepare myself for about five minutes, because I'd probably hang myself otherwise. I suggest you do the same, because it's coming. Get ready.

Inception.
The thing that boggles my mind is that WB is remaking Lethal Weapon after Inception made a butt-load of money. Did they forget? Why is "original" such a four-letter word to these people? I'm assuming (at this point) that WB made a special deal with Nolan where since TDK made a zillion dollars, Nolan was allowed to do whatever he wanted with an unlimited budget, since there was plenty of profit to throw around, and Inception was the result. They need to just do that all the time.
What I see happening in the future is Nolan leaving WB, and WB will be the new Fox from the early-to-mid 2000s. It's all a big cycle. Fox gave us nothing but turds, and now it's WB's turn to remake Lethal Weapon.
I can't see this going anywhere to be honest.

Hollywood's still scared to take risks. It shouldn't be a mystery that Hollywood hates spending money so they always want a sure thing, and studios think that remakes and reboots are sure things (I'm not saying sequels because sequels 95% of the time are sure things financially.)The reason those films made money is because they all had a big name backing it (Cameron with Avatar, Nolan with Inception, and Jackson producing District 9).
I think it's too early to call WB the new Fox. Just because it's a reboot no one wants doesn't mean it will exactly suck. The Karate Kid wasn't bad at all and surprised many (I still didn't it in theaters though). Maybe this will surprise.
I love how people get so upset about something that is...maybe just was... being talked about.
So much in Hollywood doesn't happen.
The title of this thread is misleading.
