Granted, he's always been known as the benevolent leader who only uses violence as a last resort, but from other people that have seen it, he seems to pretty much be a straight beast in this one, ripping **** off, tearing Decepticons apart, all that there. I saw the forest scene and enjoyed it, but was that out of character for him, or was it just him saying, "I gotta do what needs to be done because these ****ers won't do any less to me or the humans"?

he was pretty brutal in Transformers the movie running over Decepticons and what not

I just think it was the situation, when the situation calls for it, Prime acts, he always did this in the cartoons and has always done it in the comics.

In the forest, he went brutal because the Decep's were going to tear Sam apart.

Well, it's war. But I have to be honest, him executing Demolisher just like that, by shooting him completely defensless in the face, I didn't think that was very Optimus like.

Ok, Prime is supposed to be a noble, benevolent leader. But he also has to kick some ass. Do you really think that Bay would take the time and effort to limit his action scenes because it might be out of character for Prime?

"Character" is a word unknown to Bay. You are asking too much.
He can be making lectures for peace and the next second he can be raping babies as far as Bay is concerned. As long as they are "punkass" decepticon babies, its alright.

But anyway, its war, he is fighting the bad guys. I dont think he ever murdered anyone in cold blood or anything.

And he terminated that defeated decepticon in shangai... What's wrong with you, Optimus? :(

He was still a very bold and intelligent leader, but he can whoop ass with the best of em. I liked it.

What were they supposed to do??? Put him in Transformer jail???

Shouldnt he like... give them a chance to turn into autobots (unlikely possibility) or emprison them or something? Its not Cybertron and i dont think that earth has any means to restrain huge machines forever, but executing prisoners isnt very noble or legal (in our world) is it?

So the correct question would be: "What's wrong with you Bay?"

My answer would be, avoid those tricky, gray areas by resolving the situation in a different way. Have demolisher fight to the bitter end because in earth at least there are no TF jails. That removes the dilemma of "what do we do with our TF prisoner". Just like in TDK, Nolan could have killed TwoFace without Batman pushing him. Its complicated now that he did. What about his one rule and all?

This Optimus was so Beast Wars Optimus Primal

no bcuz if he didnt kill demolishor he would still pose a threat it was needed bcuz there was no reason to hold him captive

Maybe dismember him and keep him at a secure location like the last fragment off the Allspark? After he said the Fallen shall rise again, I might have kept him around for questioning. Or put him in stasis.

Primal was no murderer. And he always gave the enemy a chance before drawing out his guns. IIRC that is...

im pretty sure he didnt give anyone a chance in the Movie when the Decepticons attacked Autobot city

1) there was a beast wars movie? Damn, how did i miss it?
2) when the enemy is at your gates, he has made his decisions. Its a different thing when you have overcome the enemy and you shoot him in the head. And i blame Bay for this, since Prime isnt an actual person to make his own character choices.

1)I was talking about Transformers the movie. Pretty much when you tell someone "One shall stand one shall fall" is a cool way of saying we are fighting to the death.
2)We dont know what rules NEST was going by. What if it was the humans who wanted all Decepts killed on sight

*sigh* I dont understand how people think he was too brutal in this film. A lot of people complained last film that he didnt even fight at all. Expect when he destroys Demolisher, now this film He pretty much owned everything that came his way. I thought Optimus was held back last time, but this time he was unleashed.

i like OP in the movie .

''i rise, you fall''

And in turn everyone else got turned into a Wuss. Yes, people complained that Prime was man-handled by Megatron in the last Movie. What they wanted though was to make them even. Not have him rape everyone and everything in sight.

I found Optimus to be too awesome for words in this movie. He got me cheering many times with his awesomeness. Megatron almost never stood a chance in this movie. Total ownage!

Like I said, dismember him. He could survive with just a spark and his head. Get him to spill the beans.
I think that is a little more rough and evil than just killing him. That would be like torture. Plus, most of the big Decepticons aren't going to spill the beans and since he was hiding, I doubt he was in touch with Starscream or Fallen.

Ah, nonsense. They are robots. Starscream attached his arm back on no problem.
