For me,I couldn't get into the characters at all,with the exception of Rorschach.

Very depressing and dark storyline which I couldn't get excited about.Many parts felt like a chore to read.

I'd also like to be clear,I've never bashed Watchmen calling it sucky,crap or anything immature and demeaning.It's just never been my cup of tea since I first read it,and I don't see why people have such a hard time accepting the fact that people don't like it.

I've enjoyed stories like Golden Age,Planetary and American Way much more than this and I know that there are hundreds of people who are going to disagree with that.So what?I'm not going to call every single one of them stupid just because of that.Different strokes people,it's not a hard concept.

As for CC,it's quite odd that you pointed out Darthphere as one of the reasons you stopped posting,when it's quite clear that your attitude is the exact same poisonous fanboy attitude that plagues message boards.

But I stand by my feelings on Watchmen. It's a seminal, ground-breaking work, and remains a benchmark in the industry to this day. To dismiss and undermine that is narrow-minded and short-sighted. Anyone should be able to appreciate that and see the value in Watchmen.

Wow a thread without about 40% on the subject matter and 60% of what could be an interesting discussion.

In any case, I did read it and realise that it did seek what it wanted to do very well. But given I do not like the idea of realism in a world which is extremely unreal, this comic book was not among my favourites.

That does not mean it was not a great peice of work.
