I think the hype will grow a lot with the trailer that comes with X3, it looks like it will be the one that sets audiences on fire for this.

I don´t worry about the whole "superhero movies are saturated" thing, I been hearing that since Hulk...

They all predicted POTC2 as the biggest hit. I think it'll flop. The first was a "hit" only because it had legs because it was a surprise. People thought it was a kids movie til they figured out Depp turned in an incredible performance. The sequel won't have that going for it. It has flop written all over it.

Pulling in numbers like that it may not need legs. Besides...looks like the bad reviews didnt hurt the film at all and if it did? Damn. I wouldnt underestimate anything just yet.

People are still having interest to DVC, that is why first 2 weeks will be huge for this movie.

And then it will lose legs.

POTC2 will not cross the 300 million mark. People are clearly over-estimating this movie much like Yoda over-estimated Darth Sedious. It will make less than the first POTC movie by say about 20 million. So expect 285 mil. As far as SR goes, this movie has got everything going for it. If it opens in more than 4000 theatres expect big time numbers and I'm talking recording breaking numbers. The Superman name alone will bring in 200 million. And looking at the way Singer is taking a more realistic approach to the movie mixing it up with a lot of action, romance, comedy and so on, it's sure to win with the general audience. There will always be at least 1 mega blockbuster every year and this year my friends is clearly the year of Superman. 20 years of anticipation and the hype will reach a whole new level come mid-june. You will believe a man can fly even the naysayers. Up, up and away!

Warner Bros has attached the second Superman Returns theatrical trailer to X-Men: The Last Stand, but thanks to the power of the internet you won't need to waste your $10 and sit through Ratner's bad comic book film attempt.

If there were any naysays who came out of the first trailer disapointed, I think they'll end up walking out of this one eating their words. We really get our first glimpse of Brandon Routh's performance as Superman, as well as a few cool clips we have never seen before. This may be just a little early, but - Bryan Singer, thank you for not disapointing us.

I gotta disagree with you. Pirates will definetly take the 1st or 2nd spot of the summer. I live on a college campus, and the only movie people are talking about POTC2, and it isn't even being marketed yet (besides the trailers). It was an entertaining movie and the second one looks like it could be too. Who knows though, it may not do as well as I thought. But it definitely will not flop.

In donners version Lex Luthor tried to make its own continent and in Singers Version he's trying to make a new continent. Isnt that kinda lame. I know Singer wanted to use Donners Version as a history but this is one similairty I dont want.

I don't think Luthor's actual criminal plan should be the focus of the movie...we all know going in he would have had some grand plan (like all supervillains) and superman would thwart him...his actual means of obtaining power should not matter so much.
