Westchester RPG Character Application

Screenname: Byrd ManCharacter You Would Like To Play: Dr. Henry "Hank" McCoy

Powers: Superhuman strength, speed, stamina, agility, flexibility, reflexes, coordination, balance, and endurance. Genius level intelligence

Basic Origin of the Character: Born with an ape like body and large hands and feet, Hank McCoy spent the better part of his life being discriminated and feared. Hank graduated first in his high school class and attended Columbia University, where he earned the first of his many PHDs, this one being in genetics. Becoming one of the foremost experts in the so called X-Gene, Hank dedicated his life to the studies of mutants and what cause their mutations. One year ago, Hank was offered a chance to study mutants up close by Charles Xavier. Now, Hank lives on the Westchester campus, teaching physics, biology, and chemistry. Hank also does his mutant research on the side.
Three Reasons Why You Have Chosen That Character:
1.
Beast has always been one of my favorite X-Men
2.
I like to use big words, wanna fight about it?
3. Kelsey Grammer FTW.

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character As A Person : Personality wise, this version of Hank will be much closer to his 616 self, he won't be as self-conscious as his Ultimate version is. Also, Beast isn't blue and furry yet.

Two Complete Sentences In Proper English Explaining What You Can Bring To This RPG (As A Player): I can bring an okay RPer who's been around the block a few times.
What Fonts Do You Plan To Use For Your Character’s Speech? (Makes the roster look better): georgia and blue

AP Physics Class, Third Period

"Now, this being your first day. I'll start you off easy."

My big feet slap on the carpeted floors of the classroom as I walk around with a piece of chalk in my hand.

"How here can tell me who wrote the legendary paper 'Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica'?"

Most of the students are silent, but one hand shoots up in the air.

"Ahh, Miss Grey?"

"Issac Newton?"

"Correct. Can anyone tell me who discovered the law of the photoelectric effect?"

Another hand shoots up.

"Mister Bishop?"

"Einstein?"

"Correct. Who discovered the field of Quantum Mechanics?"

Now there is complete silence, I smile as I walk down the aisle's between the desk and sit at my desk at the front of the class.

"That's what I thought. It was Paul Dirac. Welcome to advanced Physics, I'm your teacher. You can all me Dr. McCoy, Professo McCoy, Mr. McCoy, or just Hank. But let me tell you this, after you're done with my class you'll either love physics with a passion or hate it with a passion."

The students look at each other with uneasy looks.

"Let's begin, shall we?"

Interesting. Very interesting.

Approved.

I assume that Wilson and McCoy will interact on some level?

I would assume that, in a setting like this, everyone is bound to interact on some level. Teachers more so than students, however.

Diggin' the concept of this RPG, and I think the students at Westchester might have a little more trouble than other mutants to deal with.

Screenname: Andy C.
Character You Would Like To Play:
Nicholas Joseph Fury, aka "Colonel Fury" or simply "The One-Eyed Man"

Powers:

As far as anyone knows, Colonel Fury has no known extrahuman abilities. There is, however, some debate on how he has operated for so many decades without any visible signs of aging.

Basic Origin of the Character:

According to all of the government's public records, there is no such person as "Colonel Fury." All files show that there was a Sergeant Nicholas Joseph Fury, who was killed in action during the Battle of the Bulge. However, it is a name that is well known to conspiracy theorists worldwide, spoken in the same hushed tones as Roswell and the Kennedy Assassination. Fury is the focal point around countless urban legends of a black-ops wing of the CIA or the military--depending on the story--meant to deal with situations deemed too dangerous for public knowledge, including everything from counter-terrorism to alleged extraterrestrial invasions.

Some theories claim that Fury and his organization were founded in the wake of the terrorist attacks, while others date all the way back to World War II. All of them, however, involve one figure--a man in his mid-40s, wearing an eyepatch and smoking a cigar, who can issue orders to United States soldiers without any visible rank or name. Whatever this man's true purpose is--or if he even exists--is hotly debated by conspiracy theorists. The government, of course, denies everything.

Three Reasons Why You Have Chosen That Character:

1. I think it'd be important for the crop of students at Westchester to have the occasional test as to where their loyalties truly lie. After all, if there's going to be a gathering of extremely powerful (and possibly dangerous) individuals in the country, Uncle Sam is likely to want in on it.

2. I absolutely loved playing Fury in One Universe, but was hindered with what I could and couldn't do with S.H.I.E.L.D. Here, however, I have the opportunity to build it from the ground up, and incorporate it into the X-Men universe a little more naturally.

3. Fury's a great character to play for the simple fact that he can play both sides. One minute, the mutants could be running in fear from his black helicopters and shadowy G-men, and the next, he could be bringing in the cavalry to wipe out a supervillain stronghold.

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character As A Person :
I plan on making Nick a character who's intimidating, but not entirely unsympathetic (more along the lines of Noah Bennett from Heroes). More importantly, everything that S.H.I.E.L.D. has at its disposal will be based on actual, real-world weapons and gadgets and whatnot that are at least in some real stage of production (including Fury's means of staying alive so long). Operatives will be few and far between, acting more like the assassins from the Jason Bourne stories, rather than the NPC-fodder that they usually are.

Oh, and I do plan on filling everyone in on Fury's full back-story....just not yet.

Two Complete Sentences In Proper English Explaining What You Can Bring To This RPG (As A Player):

I can bring a knack for solid characterization and story-telling. Also, I can make a mean chicken fajita.

What Fonts Do You Plan To Use For Your Character’s Speech? (Makes the roster look better):

Times New Roman, Size 3, Bold.

*CRASH!!!*

A pair of trashcans tumbled noisily out of the alleyway, followed shortly by the man who had knocked them over. Long-limbed and fascinatingly ugly, he ran down the street as fast as his legs could carry him, his breath coming in ragged gasps and his wiry muscles burning.

Only a few minutes before, he was on his computer, engaging in a knock-down drag-out argument on his usual message board. It was only his years of reading all the stories and hearing all the rumors that he was able to notice the black sedan parked just outside of his apartment. That was his only warning, and he took it.

He couldn't let the One-Eyed Man get to him. Not before he let everyone know what happe--

*KZZZZZT!!!!*

When his senses returned to him, he felt hard asphalt on his face, and two prongs sticking into his neck. And standing over him...

Oh, God. Him.

"Mortimer Toynbee," said the One-Eyed Man between puffs of his cigar, "I think it's time we got to know each other."

*Shifty eyes, tempted to apply.*

I don't see Gambit as a teacher, unless he's one of amour. ;) But I doubt he'd be a student; he's not the type that likes being scolded-- note the fights between him and Wolverine that occur almost daily. I suppose he would fit best as an outsider, but I'm not sure at the moment.

*Needs to character study more, because I love him so much.*

I think i know who i'm going with... But is there going to be an arc here... you know the good guys vs bad guys and all that... or is it just like a school days type thing?

Just to clarify, despite how confusing this might sound, Wolverine is going to be a student, not a teacher....:)

Westchester RPG Character Application

Screenname: Nowufacedoom

Character You Would Like To Play: John Allerdyce Aka Pyro

Powers: Ability to manipulate flame yet unable to create it. Is immune to heat and fire damage.

Basic Origin of the Character: John was born to a loving family in a rural town somewhere in midland America (Yeah I'm changing a few things, I can't write the Oz accent without parodying it.) On his 16th Birthday he caused an accident, burning his home to the ground, witnesses said they saw the candles on the birthday cake engulf the room John was in, spreading quickly, it was a miracle no one was seriously harmed.

John wasn't seen again, filled with fear and shame he fled seeking answers.

Three Reasons Why You Have Chosen That Character:
1. Cool power, I mean come on, who wouldn't want this power?
2. I am a fire starter! A TWISTED FIRE STARTER!
3. Lots of potential for new stories and interactions with other students.

What Do You Plan On Doing With This Character As A Person : He's going to be a bit timid at first but grow into a complete show off with an ego the size of Texas. Have a firey temper (ha! get it?) but deep down he knows whats right and wrong.

Two Complete Sentences In Proper English Explaining What You Can Bring To This RPG (As A Player): Another player and (after this week) hopefully a consistant one. Also, The Prodigy.

What Fonts Do You Plan To Use For Your Character’s Speech? (Makes the roster look better): FIRE! DUN DUN DUNNN DUN DUN! FIRE!

The bar's atmosphere made the teenager gag, grasping his throat as he entered, coughing. He was drawing too much attention to himself, the boy knew this, he pulled his hood down over his eyes and skulked into a seat in the corner of the bar. He could feel the barman's eyes on him, burning into his very skin. To John's relief the bartender's focus was pulled toward a customer, sighing under his breath John relaxed a little more.

"Mr. Allerdyce?" Came a calm soothing voice, John looked up with terror in his eyes. Terror that soon subsided as he recognized the man the voice belonged to.

"P-Proffesor Xavier?" John stuttered willing it to be true.

"Yes son, I got your phone call and got here as soon as I could." The wheelchair-bound bald-headed mutant said with a friendly smile "I understand you recently had a realization in your life?"

John cowered away, bringing his knees up to his chest and hugging them.

"I... I'm not normal... and... I saw you on TV, talking about... about mutants." John mumbled, obviously scared.

"You did the right thing in contacting me Johnathan. Come with me."

John flinched

"Where? where do you want to take me?"

Xavier smiled a friendly smile once again and placed a hand on the frightened young man's shoulder.

"To school."

I'm going to go out on a limb here and approve you. At this point I don't think that there would be any objections to important government figures being PC's.

I think i know who i'm going with... But is there going to be an arc here... you know the good guys vs bad guys and all that... or is it just like a school days type thing?
Both. There'll be arcs.

Just to clarify, despite how confusing this might sound, Wolverine is going to be a student, not a teacher....:)
My mistake.

Yeah I was gonna say 13 seems a little young.

Pyro is 15/16 in my continuity anywho.

well mutant abilities manifest at puberty so I thought thirteen was a good age. But after seeing the ages of the other students I really didnt want Scott to be the youngest.

Puberty...

OR Heightened emotional stress :cwink:

Could go with that excuse for him being older.

I'll think about this, still might keep him fifteen though.
