The Dark Knight What are your biggest Dark Knight Fears?

Well BTAS had a wonderful twoparter about ClayFace that was better than any Batman movie and made me fall in love with the character.

I would love to see him in a Batman movie but I admit, he wouldn't fit in Nolan's ultra realistic Bat-World.

The story was intresting - but not exactly a masterpiece by any means (certainly not on par with some of the better B:TAS epsiodes).

I mean a goo that melts your face? Come on.

I dont think the Joker being done to death is a fair argument against him being a villian for this series. I would be a bit offended as a Batman fan not to see Joker as the main villian in Nolans films. His vision is competely different than the previous movies.

It would be like your favorite band doing a tribute to Hendrix and leaving out purple haze. Or going to your favorite bands concert without hearing their most famous song.

How do we know if TDK will even be based on action? Hand to hand fighting, though important in any comic book adaptation, might not even come into play concerning the main villians.

The more I hear Nolan talk about what TDK will be the more I get the impression we will see a psychological thriller/detective story instead of the normal comic book adaptation action movie structure.

Im betting he saves the big action for the last movie.

I am agreed with new formula as thriller/detective storyinstead of the normal superhero movie.

But still, there should be something from usual superhero mvie (c'mon, it is Batman!).

Also, there should be 5-6 action scenes (TDK is summer blockbuster, not fall thriller).

I think Nolan will make 2.5 fights between Batman and Joker, because there just should be action.

And hand to hand fight is very important, because, then how will Batman fight with thiefs, gangs and others?

1. They will ignore Martha Wayne... again.

2. They will act as if Rachel Dawes never existed.

3. They will ignore the impact Ra's al Ghul must've left.

If these names aren't mentioned even once, I will be a bit disappointed, because I'm hoping for a stronger continuity with this Batman series. You don't forget your childhood friend like that, just like you don't forget the mentor that became your foe and tried to destroy your entire hometown. Okay, so the sequel might take place one year later, but still! Plus, in Begins, Bruce hardly payed any homage to his mother.

BB was Bruce getting through his father stuff, mainly, fear.
Maybe TDK will show him struggling with his mothers side, compassion.

Im sure there will be action but I can see the action taking on a more 1940's detective type. All the pounding footsteps through darkened alleys, criminals blind siding Bruce ect.

I think Nolan's Batman films will be more film noir than Summer Blockbuster.

I think so too, but this doesn't mean there will be less action that BB had.

BTW, before we start a new argue about box office numbers (noir movies don't make enough usually), I'll saythat BB has it's fanbase and people liked new Bat-movies, so TDK will be enough huge hit in box office :D

Yes, saying the Tumbler was bad-ass is terribly illogical. Because, you know, logic can even be applied to an opinion like that. Or perhaps it's my ignorance. Perhaps if i studied up on the subject of bad-assness a bit more, i'd see the Tumbler's not so cool, and that giant batfins on a car half an inch above the ground is.

If you were smart and studied hard, you'd see both suck.

Kat's is one of the best posters around here, boy and the Tumbler is one of man's greatest achievments in history.

Be that as it may, the tumbler and the Batmobile in general is a stupid idea for Batman. In BB there were hundreds of other ways Batman could have helped Rachel that didn't involve major property damage and personal injury to innocents. For instance, why didn't he drive in "stealth mode" all the way? And so on and so on.

Batmobiles are stupid since they basically paint a target on a "car" and say: Batman is here! Hardly stealthy, unless he drives it in stealth mode all the time, which he doesn't.

I personally want a good story if that means only one fight scene then that is fine by me. Unlike some of you I am not obsessed with the big fights I prefer a good story.

I personally don't give a damn about Mad hatter never been a fan of him. I do like Clayface but he would never fit in to Nolans verse.

exactly I coulnd't agree with you more. Hell it doesn't even really fit in to Nolans verse the stealth mode thing is such a joke.

Well, I also prefer more good story, but action is always necessary in Batman movies, though I liked action scenes in BB.

I enjoyed them as well but for me the action is not a driving factor I don't really care.:batty:

The Batmobile is a symbol, as is Batman. Think about it, when your speeding down a road and you see a cop car - what do you do? You slow down and be extra careful. Sure, cops could do just as well having a normal car to get around with - but there is no symbol so it limits their effectiveness.

I'm not going to pertend that action isn't important to me (not that anybody is pretending) but Batman was never a character that you would expect to have huge Spider-Man/Superman fights.

Now that I got that out of the way.

I fear that the action/fight scenes will be as lame as they were in the first film.

I fear Bale's awful Bat-voice will stay the same.

I fear the return of lame ole Katie Holmes.

I fear the Joker will be turned lame by the extreme realism angle and won't be the Joker, but just a "crazy guy".

I fear the movie will look just as visually uninteresting as the first.

I fear the movie will fall apart in it's second half, like the first one.

Okay, thats it for me!

Wanting Jessica Biel for Wonder Woman makes me instantly disregard anything you say!!!
;) :D

I fear we will get many cast members or even many villains but Im sure
that's not the case. I will wonna get to know more of Bruce-Batman,Alfred, Gordon,Rachel and even Fox.

None really. I had fears with Begins before it came out but Nolan has proven himself.

I know its off topic, but I would want them to get an unknown beauty who is exotic and fits right into the role.... but if they want a known actress, and are going for an American I'd say go for Biel.... she's be better than many of the other names mentioned.

Where did you get that Avay?

i think it's from one of batman's (1989, by tim burton) unused posters...

Then you must be killed....

I agree unkown is fine with me a long as she can act and will work up some muscle. I'd love Jennifer Connelly to play Wonder Woman but that all depends on how soon they are going to get this done.
