The Dark Knight What are your biggest Dark Knight Fears?

yeah that's the one. but this link says that its early Pre-Crisis Joker plus The Killing Joke. i cant find the link where he said The Man Who Laughs although i distinctly remember he mentioned it.

well, isn't The Man Who Laughs basically an updated retelling of the early Joker stories? I haven't read either, but it's what I've been told.

Also, The Joker's Five Way Revenge was mentioned by a BOF insider, so they might be going for that too.

My biggest fear is that it will be a huge letdown like Begins was for me.

Well, he mentioned first 2 appearances of Joker (B#1 and TMWL).

unfortunately those interviews don't say anything about the appearance of joker, It's good that they're taking the right direction with the characterisation of him but if they stray too far from the classic look it'll bother the hell out of me, like many people keep saying there are certain physical elements to the joker that make him what he is, so I hope they come through on that side of things aswell

Is it his physical appearance that makes Joker Joker or is it Joker that makes his physical appearance Joker.

*does a jig and exits to the left*

It is Jack Nicholson. :joker:

Ledger is for Joker what people think Topher will be for Venom... i think Topher will do a good job on Venom, and i think the same for Ledger playing Joker...

^But your're forgetting one thing. TOPHER IS VENOM.

Yes, it is.

In any case, while Ledger's reception has been one of surprise, he hardly has the negative following Topher has/has for playing Venom.

I prefer Topher as Venom over Ledger as Joker

My biggest fears:

-The joker not looking like THE joker (as far as the character design, nothing to do with Ledger). And dont tell me "the looks dont matter its how he plays the character" crap because I've seen Elvis impersonators and just because they're good doesnt make them Elvis.

-Ryan Phillipe

All eyes on the Joker with hype and high standards could lead to disappointments. Its not TPTB doing but the fans.
Balancing the darkness in a way that its not all blood and gore but handling the script just right. Good storytelling is the recipe to success.

Well, you really should read what Ledger is saying about Joker as a character.

I thought batsuit looked cool in BB, but yeah, I'd like to see some changes.

Don't worry, Holmes comes back for sequel.

 I thought Bale's voice was normal in BB.
I find it funny how the uber fans of BB pretend that only one or two people didn't like Bale's Batman voice or that it's an insult. It's not a out of the norm opinon, some people actually didn't like Bales batman voice. That doesn't mean they hate the movie or don't think that Bale did a good job overall, they just didn't like his haggard old, 30 packs for 30 years a day, hooker batman voice, sheesh.

I found his voice utterly cringeworthy, it wasn't cool, scary or "animalistic". It seems to me like just another little gimmick which didn't work too well on film

Agreed, I laugh everytime I watch the film and couldn't stop giggling when I saw it in theaters last year. I just hate it and really hope they change it in the second one because if they don't the movie will lose a point from it's overall score before I even see it.

Well, as I remember, Keaton also wasn't 100% perfect with his height and hair.

If Bale had any negative aspect and it was his voice, at least he didn't have more than 3 of it.

Perhaps when people remember the whole "swear to me" scene (which I still think sounds corny as hell) but by far the most laughable scene voice-wise was his conversation with Holmes in the narrows. I mean, you're indirectly telling her your secret identity anyway, why keep up the lame voice? For a film that takes itself so seriously, there sure is some hillarious stuff in there

I see nothing wrong with the voice I think it's great also He isn't telling her who he is he is giving her a clue and she isn't the only one there why let his normal voice out when there are others around.

Bale's voice was okay, but several times it sounded like a too light voice trying desperately to sound low and raspy. And he HAD an animalistic voice... but just in the Swear to me scene. As with weak dialoges, Bale's acting skills were superior to his weaknesses.

but even an actor of Bale's talent was hamstringed by that voice, I can't remember if he ever said it was his idea, I'm not sure, but jeez, he didn't pull it off very well at all. Just think how cool it would've been for bale to lower his voice just a little, but still have that strong, confident 'batman' tone, instead of an odd, and frankly off-putting raspy whisper, I don't mean to bang on about this but it still takes me right out of the movie every time Bat's opens his mouth

"Swear to me!" is the worst delivered line in comic book movie history.

I fear the Joker will be all work and no play.
