The Dark Knight Rises What did you notice after multiple viewings that you didn't in the first?

OK everyone just ot back and my cousin didn't like it all that much, said Bane sucked(booooooo!) but I did notice some of the stuff that was pointed out! One thing I would like to add that wasn't mentioned and went over my head the first time was at the end when she was telling the story of how she was the child and Bane her protector a single tear came down Banes cheek. I'm guessing it was his emotions for being her caretaker and how touchingly she remembered him for it, but was also thinking that maybe the fact that the mask was broken by Batman made him finally feel pain and he reacted through crying? I'm guessing it's the former.

Ha good thread, was about to start one very similar in fact!!

From what I can remember now, there were several things I didnt pick up on until the second viewing at least, things like:

- Why the fingerprints of Bruce were so important, I sort of lost that thread the first time.

- The role of Dr Pavel and some of the stuff in the prologue made much more sense second time round.

- The scene where Bane shot his own man to follow Gordon made much more sense the second time as well. I missed him giving him the phone the first time I saw it!!

-There's a whole crowd of bystanders across the street when Bruce is leaving Wayne Enterprises (as his car is being towed) that looks like the crowd that had gathered to watch them filming the movie instead of just extras who were part of the scene.

-That after the stadium explosion, someone in the booth was able to compose himself enough to be able to get a perfect shot of Bane onto the Jumbotron while he's giving his speech.

-The guy from the boys' home warns Blake to be careful, because "they're hunting down cops like dogs" which I took to mean that not every Gotham City cop was trapped in the tunnels, a plot point which had been griped about a lot.

It could have been just "luck" that it was on that spot when the bomb went off anyway, no necessarily a manned camera by that point, but does seem a little "convenient" none the less, looked great though!!:woot:

The Doritos banner behind Bane during the stadium speech.

Yeah I didn't really get that until after my second viewing.

After Batman saves the day and some Gotham residents come out their homes, a Philadelphia Phillies banner hangs from one of the windows!

Nolan & Co don't remove any buildings from NYC's skyline, and they added additional bridges, mostly towards the southern tip of NYC.

Sitting further back is a bit better than sitting in the first row, which I prefer.

The Tuttleman IMAX in Philly has the best screen, but the AMC IMAX has better sound. :/

The different amounts of image quality makes this re watchable for me. You have the sharpest scenes ever in film contrasted with some of the most blurry scenes in film.

They used his thumbprint at the stock exchange when they were bankrupting him. When Fox showed Bruce the newspaper with the article about him being broke, he told him that the transaction was "verified by thumbprint" so it was going to be tough to prove fraud.

But Fox can prove that transaction was fraud as Miranda Tate was Talia Al Ghul and she was a member of LOS, and they used the fingerprints to do the fraud. Also, the stocks were transferred in the name of Dagget and Miranda, who were involved with Bane's plan, so it could be proved that there was a conspiracy.

Cops must have rounded up some of the LOS members who could confess that in the court.

Fox says that he will try to prove that as a fraudulent transaction and that he would recover the control of Wayne Enterprises.

At the Harvey Dent Day function at the beginning of the movie, Selenia says "Shrimp balls?" to the Senator that just grabbed her @$$. DOuble entrendre. ;)

The first Batpod chase after the stock exchange mess: the old cop who tells the young kid to "put that away before your hurt yourself!" after he shoots Batman's EMP gun. Same old cop shows up later, two times. One, when Gordon and some others are meeting the special forces guys. He's just over Gordon's...right shoulder..I think. And again, at Gordon's trial, over Gordon's left shoulder. Don't see him on the ice though.

A few of the signs in the football stadium scene. D Fence. Capital Letter D plus a picket fence. Rogue Wave was another clever one-Gotham Rogues.

The little serrated edges on Catwoman's heels. They're not just a fashion statement, they're useful!

Judge Crane is using a ballpeen hammer instead of a gavel.

I didn`t notice Batman disarming Catwoman in the rooftop fight on my first viewing.

Yeah the second time I saw it thats when it clicked, must have missed it the first time, not surprising seeing who I was sat with the first time:woot:

I noticed on my third viewing that Bane saying, "You fight like a young man" gives you a bit of a hint that Bane might be older than Batman. Just because if he was a young man himself, he probably wouldn't say something like that.

Would've been a treat if he said this. :D

Bane's right-hand man. The guy who made negotiations on the bridge.
Yeah I didn't know his name was Barsad until reading the novelization, a few other things from the novel:

- Blake gives a tank of gas to the orphanage caretaker and mentions that he had to siphon it out of the abandoned cars on the street.

- Bruce actually comes back to Gotham with a full beard.

About the beard thing

In BB, he had a full beard - most liky fake as Bale cant grow a hockey playoff beard

In TDKR, it seems to be Bale's real facial hair

Anyway, Bruce Wayne's beard is very inconsistent in this trilogy

Bruce's weight seemed really inconsistant IMO. He was quite skinny for practically the whole first act then suddenly in the Tate love scene without a shirt he was really muscely. Then he as thrown in the pit and seemed muscly throughout all that then when he returned to Gotham he looked quite skinny again.

His face looked skinny because he was depressed. Doesnt mean his body was thin

The funny thing is some of the scenes where he looked bulked up (prison scenes, love scene with Tate) and the scenes where he looked skinny (hermit Bruce at the manor) were shot at around the same time so there's really no pattern and it's not like he was skinnier during the early filming and bulked up at the later half. :funny:

Another from Alfred: when Bruce asks about a car and Alfred realizes he's want to leave the mansion, he replies with a "yes" like he was thinking "finally!".

True! And I noticed something else, in the exact same scene. He's happy to hear Wayne wants to leave Wayne Manor when he asks about a car, but just a few seconds later, when Bruce mentions he wants to get to whatever hospital Gordon is in, he's worried once again; probably because he knows that means he's going back to the 'monster' / obsession that is Batman and his mission.
