The Dark Knight Rises What did you notice after multiple viewings that you didn't in the first?

- Bane's body seems to have some wierd sort of acne all over.

Hardy clearly roided up for this movie. My best guess is that he did it due to lack of time to prepare.

One of the main side-effects of fast-acting anabolics is severe acne (which despite their best efforts to conceal, was still very visible in 70mm IMAX).

Hardy even had pimples on his pecs.

Kudos to the guy for putting on so much weight in just 3 months though. Completely transformed himself.

Did anyone noticed the sign in the football stadium that said "Hi Dad"?

There was also a reaction from a character that I thought was important, but god damn it, I forgot.

Although I do know that I noticed how big a prick the cement truck driver was being the second time, since I knew he was doing it on purpose.

No doubt coincidental but...

John Blake becomes a detective... a dick (Dick Grayson... Robin? :funny:)

JGL's character has a dark green jacket, at least I think it was dark green (a little homage to Robin's suit?) and a blue sweater (Nightwing?)

I'm watching it one final time more in the cinema on Saturday, wonder if there's anything else that I'll pick up.

In the love scene Bruce says "I lost power" which of course can be taken literally because he was financially broke and the lights went out of his home (or maybe a smooth move with EMP?) but now I see that this could possibly mean several other things: he lost he lost his wealth, his strength (he fights Bane afterwards who basically toys with him the entire time) or maybe even he became weak for Miranda

Noticed this on my 8th viewing lol

So early in the film, there an orphan who washes up dead from the sewers, and Blake visits that scene

Later, when Gordon goes into the sewers and there's an explosion, I guess Blake assumes Gordon's been captured/is in trouble. His instinct is to go to an outlet like where the orphan washed up (not sure if it's the same outlet), and viola there's where Gordon washes up too.

I never connected the scenes until now.

Also.

Batman's first appearance, the Batpod speeds away and all the lights go off in its wake (due to EMP).

A parallel to this is during the siege, when Blake is driving Gordon down the street, the lights go off in their wake (due to power shortage I suppose).

But it's some foreshadowing I think to Blake becoming Batman 2.0.

Interesting viewpoint/parallel that I hadn't even thought of.

There was the Joker in the movie, Private Joker from Full Metal Jacket

"women weaken legs", that's why Batman couldn't put up much of a fight after just having sex. :woot:

The final shot of Bruce and Alfred nodding to each other was somewhat similar to the ending of The Prestige, when Bale and Caine both nod to each other as Bale is entering the theater.

Could that not also be from wearing tons of pounds of make-up and costuming in the middle of summer? I am sure all of that had to be quite irritating. Has it been said if he definitely did or didn't use anything to bulk up? I'm curious....

Fox states that he was shuttling all of the defense projects together to get them all under one roof. To keep them from "falling" into the wrong hands...

Later Bane blows the bottom out of Applied Sciences, and a tumbler "falls" into his lair..

:)

Haha, yeah. I liked that one. :yay:

Yeah someone made a really awesome GIF of this a few weeks ago. I think it was on tumblr.

I am ASHAMED of myself...

Also: I noticed more of the romance the third time around. By that I mean, I understood why Bruce Wayne was attracted to both Miranda and Selina and got a better sense of interest between the characters.

I especially like when Miranda calls Bruce out on "Practiced Apathy", seeing through his playboy facade instantly.

Nothing official's been said nor will it ever be, but I know a guy on juice when I see one. The massive neck with arms nowhere near that level of size, the swollen hands, severe acne (even in areas where his tattoo concealing compound wasn't applied).

The biggest giveaway was the bloated face/overlapping neck that he couldn't hide when doing press for Warrior.

In Warrior he's not only bigger, but is much more defined with none of the side-effects he had during TDKR. Clearly had more time to prepare.

I thought Bane not being as defined was pretty deliberate. He looks beastly. I wouldn't have wanted to have Hardy in his Warrior physique in TDKR

Upon my third viewing, while I still didn't feel it myself, I finally understood the complaint that some have about the first hour being slow. I'm always so engaged by it that I don't notice, but around the time Bane killed Dagget I saw what people meant.

When Bane said that the detonator would be in the hands of one of the gothamites; he wasnt lying.
Nor when he told Daggett that everything was going according to plan, even though Daggett had not taken over Wayne Enterprises like Daggett had expected. :funny:

Miranda arrived at the mansion with the storm. And everything became bad for Bruce after that...

Again, very interesting point. I'm sure I remember that the rain wasn't originally planned for the scene, but anyway, it worked a treat in terms of expressing Bruce's feelings and state of mind. Perfect timing for it to happen in terms of the story. "There's a storm coming Mr. Wayne."

I even think is possible hear the thunders in Selina's apartment, but I'm not sure.

How is Barsad a reference to Deadshot?
Because he's seen carrying a rifle and he uses it at the Stryver/Selina scene shooting at cops on the rooftops, plus he wears a red bandana which are Deadshots colors.

I also finally understood why people complain that Batman has less screentime here.
