What do you want in a Dead Rising sequel?

The main character of Dead Rising looked like Arnold in an old build.

Well, he was ridiculously strong. They must've dubbed over the voice though. :p

I have a question about Dead Rising; Can you customize your character? If so, how detailed can you customize him/her?

If customization isn't in the first I'd definately want that in the sequel.
I also like Panophobia's idea
would love for it to take place in a large, fictional, NY esque city. The game would start out normal for a little while, essentially a GTA game. Then zombies start popping up slowly, and you get to build your arsenal of weapons, and food supply to survive. It would then play like the Survival mode of DR, with the city of GTA, and good graphics. In the city, there would be stores, a mall, police/fire stations, houses, etc. Vehicles like cars, trucks, tanks, copters, and motorcycles would be available, though they would become scarce as the game goes on, and people flee the city. Basically, in the game, you'd have plenty of missions to do (not as many escorts), but none are required. You basically just have to survive for a week before the zombies are destroyed (1 hour = a day), so a total of 7-8 hour game, with infinite replay options. Finally, achievements would be numbers of killing zombies, places visited, and maneuvers performed, not achievements like completing missions.
Except for the part in bold. I don't like games with a time limit. Maybe have it as an option though.

You can change what you're wearing, but that's about as far as the customization goes.

^Okay, then I'd want to be able to customize how they look like the way in Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain but with civilian clothes. And after that I'd like if your character would react like CJ does in GTA:SA when he eats too much, too little, works out, etc.

That remark is pretty much null and void with that Eminem avatar. :o

That part in bold was meant to be a main story-like idea, with complete free-roam after that, like a different mode.

But I'm glad you like my idea. :woot:

I think it'd be cool if in order to End the game, you need to leave the city. Like right when you pass the outer limit, you get rescued. So you have to survive for as long as possible in the city, but be sure to leave the abilities needed to make it out.

Saint's Row-esque world + Zombie hoardes = Best zombie game of all time.

No Otis. The next Dead Rising games need to have no Otis, and no one like him.

:woot: I agree. But, seriously, though, 72 hours (excluding overtime mode) wasn't enough. I want the sequel to be like a week. That way, players would be able to take full advantage of the open-ended city (if it is a city) without having to be worried about getting to a certain case file on time. Or, they could throw out the whole time/case file thing and just make a great story without "time" being a major factor.

The only great thing about Otis was getting to Megablaster his face in Infinte mode.

I think you can go a week.

1. a More open enviroment. It was big in the last game but I'm sure they could do bigger. I heard a rumor it might take place in a theme park

2. More mayhem. People running around screaming, not sitting in a room hidding and crying.

3. More weapons (Whip, bazooka, lightsaber, etc)

4. More vehicles to use

5. More agressive suvivors and you be able to put "ANY" weapon in their hand this time. If you can carry it then they should be able to.

6. Better save system. The ability to save in different slots. In the first if you saved and miss a key mission you would have to start from stracth.

7. Heres a good one. In the first one you could get the mega outfit and blaster. How about in the second you're able to get the full HALO master cheif outfit helmet and all!

6. Of course co-op. Do NOT make a sequel with out that. that would make the game 10x better

7. Mini games and quest

8. Combo fight system "Ahhh maybe"

1. LARGER FRICKIN TEXT.

2. A patch if there's a problem.

3. A zombie invested city. (Think Raccoon City only much much bigger, I think the RE movies had a pretty huge Raccoon City something that size would be nice for DR2.)

4. No freaking Otis/Betty Sue Anne character that calls you every three steps.

5. More weapons.

6. A customizable main character. I didn't care for Frank at all. He looked like Chris Redfield's inbred cousin.

I want a sequel/spin-off where you can play as that old lady with the dog in the original game, and you have to run around a find your dog who's hidden somewhere in side a zombie-infested city.

Your only weapon: The brain-exploding shrillness of your constant screams of "MADONNA! MADONNA!! WHERE'S MY MADONNA!!! MADOOOONNAAAA!!!!"

Just a big city, no time limit
The game starts of slow and easy, and slowly builds up with more and more zombies and crazy people
And you see how long you can go before dieing or leaving the city.

And unlike Infinite Mode, you can save.
