The fact is Sony is bleeding money at the moment, there are talks of them closing down their tv/mobile division and shutting up shop in Canada, they also lost approximately $30 million on Interview.

Marvel could at this point out right buy Spider-Man back, which could help save Sony's hide, But being realistic I think a deal will be struck between the two companies as Sony as whole are backed into a corner.

Sounds worse than it actually is, I think they have under 20 locations?

I am not sure of that, but folding in one country will have a domino affect to other countries unless its nipped at the bud asap.

Sounds like Sony keeps on mutilating itself to stay in business. I'm still thinking about how Sony announced it's entertainment division would be shifting the focus from film to television. We'll see.

according to neogaf, in terms of merchandising he's number 1 comic book IP. Spider-man merchandising alone brings in more money to Disney than all other comic book IP merchandise combined from Marvel or DC; Batman, Superman, Ironman, none come close.
