What happened to that Captain America Footage?

Nice to know that I wasn't the only one who sees what I see. I knew I wasn't nuts.

It does seem a bit silly to have Cap in such a pose, given that he's buried in ice.

Not really cause he could've been thrown and landed on his back, though he probably should be in repose. And does this mean they're going to have him in costume in the '40s not in a stylized uniform like in The Ultimates

No-one lands on their back striking a pose like that from hundreds of feet in the air.

If he lands in the sea; no one gets frozen like that either.

And I think they have deliberately not committed themselves to showing too much so as to not paint themselves into a corner, costume-wise.

I doubt Marvel have decided yet just how they will put Cap in the ice.
I would hope they stay closer to the original story with Bucky's death* (and have him in his army uniform over the costume with the shield strapped on his back), but I don't think we will know for sure for some time yet.

*Come to think of it, a variation of the 'Winter Soldier' storyline would make for a damn good follow up Captain America film. All the more reason for sticking with the Bucky part of that story.

Yup, whoever decided on that didn't give it much thought really. Looks like they were told to put Captain America somewhere in the arctic scene and rather than make something where the shape would make sense and look right they just took a generic hero pose of Cap and super-imposed it over a shot they'd already made.

As regards painting themselves into a corner: With something like this I think it is vague enough for the CA makers to simply ignore.

"Seems a bit silly"? Now that I've seen it, it's quite possibly the most laughable easter egg I've ever seen.

It's like they took no effort at all to try and integrate Cap into the landscape. :funny:

That kind of sucked. I thought he put the gun to his head or something. It was too subtle.

Looking at the pics again; It's clearly the ghost of Steve Rogers.

:D

Yep it sucked.

There was nothing wrong with that scene which made it too dark for kids so it had to be cut.

The cinematography is great, camerawork, music and location but the climax of the scene is poor.

In the first draft we actually have Banner put the gun in his mouth and pull the trigger, we then see two of Hulk's hands and Hulk spits out the bullet into one of his hands.

Can someone please let me know the title of the alternate opening clip up on YouTube? Im using my mobile phone and can use Vtap to find and view the clip.

It makes me wonder if Marvel made them edit the scene In order to be put on to the dvd.

This is the right one:

Exactly. I mean, they showed the Hulk strangling the Abomination almost to death, it couldn't have been much worse than that on a kid's psyche

Well...Cap was probably buried under mountains of ice...but, we all know that global warming has caused his body to slowly be revealed layer by layer...

;)

A presentation that 'coincidentally' has Ben Ryan in it?

Pluto, please give it a rest.

Pretty please?

LOL, no way in hell is Marvel getting that unknown and unproven guy. After seeing thier latest hire (Cheadle), Marvel's going to get a really top calibre actor for Cap.

That's as silly as that other guy wanting Deisel for Thor.

Thanks for the screencaps Kingman.

It's a nice easter egg but frankly i was expecting something more. The way it was talked up i thought we'd get more than 2 seconds where you can barely see a thing unless you freeze frame.:o
Yeah, no kidding. Like it would be a big moment or something.

I love how it's like we've found Bigfoot or the Virgin Mary. :oldrazz:

I doubt that they would use that scene in the beginning of The Avengers movie. That'd be so cool if that happens.
