What....If any....Classic Bond elements would you like to see in Bond 23 ?

And I do not believe one person here has asked for Die Another Day-esque gadgets.

I am aware was just stating how that film was the reason I was put of gadgets, hell that film was the reason a reboot was giving the go ahead. Also I always found a majority of the Gadget aspect cheesy. Hell I wouldnt mind if they could give Bond a realistic inventory but nothing as extreme as a watch that shoots out laser or a ring that fires sleeping darts.

I do think the gadgets should be things that ppl have NEVER seen nor know exist. I remember seeing a special on the Discovery channel where they discussed that certain inventions used by the government were spawned by things that had been seen in the early Bond films.

The Invisible car was too much but i can't believe some are saying that the exploding pen in 'Goldeneye was too much.

Honestly, when I was watching Quantum of Solace, I had no feeling that "classic" Bond elements were not there. James Bond was very much there. It was never the cars or gadgets that made the films. The character is what was important to me. The gadgets was merely the icing on the cake. I will never say "it was not a Bond film because there were no gadgets" or any junk like that. I never got the people that said the movie was more like Bourne than Bond. James Bond is very much there, and just because the film did not follow the traditional formula, it does not mean it still was not Bond. James Bond is unique because he is the only film character that continues to remain relevant and have various films since the '60s. He'll change again and again just like he has for the past 40 years.

Of course, the huge thing that I think some did not understand is that Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace were precursors to the universally known Bond. The films established why 007 is how he is.

Moneypenny and Bonds relationship was always there. Brosnan sure made the scene good. Us fans in the final Bond film want a Bond/Moneypenny hookup. Q is next important and his spy stuff.

I'd like to see the clever inclusion of the movie title once again incorporated into some piece of dialogue during the movie:

Like in TLD, Bond said :I'm sure i scared 'The Living Daylights' out of her!"

Or during AVTAK "What a view. A View to a Kill"......

etc, etc.....

It's something small but i've always found it charming.

Great scene. Y'know, take Denise Richards out of TWINE and its really not a bad movie. Renard is a classic Bond villain, Sophie Marceau made an excellent Bond girl. The only thing that destroyed that movie was some of the more outlandish stunt sequences (the helicopter buzz saw) and Denise Richards.

I don't think Denise is anymore annoying than half of Moore's Bond girls and far less so than Halle Berry. But yeah, she is a terrible actress.

That movie has a good villain in Renard, Brosnan's best performance and an actually good plot that utilizes Judi Dench's M the best to date and is the only one where in a surprise twist, the main Bond villain turns out to really be the Bond girl. All the scenes between Bond and Sophie Marceau were good. When Bond executes her, it is Brosnan's best Bond moment in the series, I think. The action sequence at the beginning in Spain and then at MI6/the Thames River and the nuclear silo were pretty good too.

I know the skiing scene and the buzz saw chopper scene were both poorly shot/edited, but I will never get why that isn't considered one of the better Bond movies by fans. Richards is no worse of an actress than half of the other Bond girls. Take out two poorly done chase scenes (something there is more than one of in QOS) and it is much better.

I loved the tone of Casino Royale, and the direction and editing, more than QoS (which is getting a bit more flak than it deserved). I think the single biggest thing I'd like to see is a bit more wit. Some good one-liners, slow down the editing, and we're all set. And use the theme more! This is JAMES BOND, not some generic action hero.

I think TWINE is much underrated. A good improvement on TND, the return of Robbie Coltrane was most welcome, and Sophie Marceau was great. Just bought it on DVD, looking forward to seeing it soon!
