    Happy Independence Day, Guest!

What if Bendis wrote a core X-book?

Bendis on an X-book? Well...I'm pretty sure he can't possibly screw things up worse than Milligan did, but just to be safe let's not give him the opportunity.

Oh, I never read what Bendis did with Layla in House of M. She's been pretty good in X-Factor, though. Is PAD writing her better?
Let's put it this way: saying that PAD writes Layla better in X-Factor than how Bendis wrote her in House of M is like saying Wolverine has sex with Asian women.

Simply put..."Yes."

By that logic Liefeld deserves credit for taking Deathstroke, filtering him through the '90s schlock machine, and turning him into Deadpool. I'll continue to heap my praise on Joe Kelly for actually making Deadpool a readable character instead, thank you.
Exactly. So should we give Bendis credit for providing the dirt that future writers ran with, or acknowledge that...that...he's not perfect and may even be overrated at times, but he's Marvel's cash cow so they believe he can write anything...which he can't. No writer can.

At least not WELL. But what matters is sales. Trust me, if it could guarentee a Top 5 book, Marvel'd hire Micheal Jackson to write an X-book.

I'd definitely buy a Michael Jackson X-book. The exciting new... opportunities... that could open up for the school would be mind-boggling.

You know it'd be everyone's favorite guilty pleasure book.

Not according to a Los Angeles jury.

That was a conspiracy. The truth is, they were just jealous of Michael. He got to be a werewolf, a zombie, a robot, a captain of a starship, AND the goddamn Scarecrow. That jury was just ignorant. :o

If Bendis wrote an X-Book?

Apocolypse and I don't mean the character. I think he was one of the signs too.

Rev. 21:1-20
And I saw the angel from heaven open the 8th seal and I saw a bald man holding two books in thy hands. One with a picture of Blue man with wings on his head and a big "A" on his chest. The other book was a red man with big white eyes and a spider on his chest. One said New the other Ultimate. The man then proclaimed "I have come to help usher in a new era in the Universe. Thou shall write thy new X-Book." The angel then looked down upon me and said "Beware he is the harbringer of death." I then looked upon in amazement as he re-wrote all of our history and ignored some of the most important parts. He then wiped out anything partaining to the ark of the covenant. And anything having to do with Abraham, and he then even said "I shall improve the deeds and miracles of David." As I opened my Old Testament David now slaughtered twenty lions, beat Goliath with a Photon Cannon, and wiped out the Babalonian army with a Psionic blast. He was amazing.

Bendis shines the most on books with one character,or at least non superpowered characters. He just can't do X-Men,team books isn't his string point at all.

I'd like to see him on a Heros for Hire with Luke and Danny.

powers works ok.

Yeah, but Powers isn't really a team book. I mean, there are two main characters, but it's more cop drama than anything.

Exactly, but Liefeld deserves SOME credit, just very little

(and though I love Joe Kelly, Fabian and Mark Waid made their marks on DP first in his two miniseries)

Bendis on an X-book

Rachel goes crazy and kills a bunch of X-men. The remaining X-men confront her but are unable to do anything so Dr. Strange shows up. He tells them there is no such thing as the Phoenix and all of Rachel and Jean's power stunts were them tapping into powers they didnt earn. Dr. Strange defeats her and Madelynn Pryor shows up and takes Rachel away while the X-men look on. Having failed Rachel the X-men disband.......until six months later that Wolverine reforms the team......with Spider-man, Blade, Ghost rider, Daredevil, Thing(all to capitalize of the movies),Arana and 70's D-listers who'll become the hot new heroes Moonboy and Devil Dinosaur(look them up).
