The Avengers What if Thor, Captain America, and The Avengers are hits?

Potter is a one time see with current costs of movies.

I think in general it's hard to get people going back multiple times with prices

This is true for me. The only film this summer that I saw multiple times was Thor. I'm a die-hard Harry Potter fan, but I only saw the last film once. I still have yet to see Cap (tomorrow I hope).

Y'know, that's odd. I ended up seeing Thor multiple times in theatres too, and I haven't done that for a film in ages.

I would personally love to see a "Civil War" Movie with all the original actors

because that story line is so topical and modern

but ya never know ;)

If Avengers is a big hit, then you can bet your left nut that the WB will respond with a Justice League movie. Guaranteed.

Thor was well liked & Captain America seems to be a hit. The WB must be getting ready to fire some people over Green Lantern

Which would be kinda late in the game . Also a huge issue would be the fact that we get a JL movie before we get a solo origin film of Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman and a proper Green Lantern origin film.

If Man of Steel works as a new origin film and if the next Batman film after TDKR decides to included Robin then that could be the start of Batman moving from a dark loner to becoming a team player in the Justice League.

Yeah, you would think that DC being owned by a movie company, all those characters would have hit the big screen by now...i dont understand what the problem is....

The Problem is their Fn morons who can't seem to get in gear. It's pretty sad that they were the first to producer the first comic book film on the big screen with Richard Donner's critically acclaim blockbuster film 1978 "Superman: The Movie" follow by 1989 "Batman" way before 1988 "Blade" and then 2000 "X-Men" and of course their biggest franchise 2002 "Spider-Man"

IMO WB should've made a Wonder Woman film after Batman Begins and instead of Superman Returns they should've done Man of Steel, then Flash followed by Green Lantern and Aquaman that should've lead up to a Justice League film with the debut of the Martian Manhunter coming to warn earth of an Alien invasion that brings the league together.

the way dc has been going about things they will probably just make origin films for flash and wonder woman, then a jla movie and not tie anything together. all be in separate universe, which would be horrible.

Personally, I think Warners would be better suited by testing the crossover waters with a Worlds' Finest movie, teaming up DC's two core franchises --- Bats and Supes. If they could get that to work (and shoot down once and for all Nolan's mule-headed stubbornness in continuing to insist on segregating Batman from the rest of the DC universe), then the doorway would be open for JLA.

A JLA movie in the immediate future, with only the TDK trilogy and MOS as predecessors, would smack of desperation in playing catch-up to the Avengers Initiative.

Honestly, to set up a JLA movie, I really believe the best plan of attack would be:

TDKR 2012
MOS 2013(? --- I'd still fasttrack it to a Holiday 2012 like originally planned)
Wonder Woman 2013
Flash 2013
Hawkman (in development) 2013? 2014?
Aquaman 2014
Green Lantern 2 2014
Worlds Finest Batman/Superman Holiday 2014
Green Arrow/Black Canary team-up early 2015
Justice League* comes together, introducing J'onn J'onzz in summer 2015

*tentative roster:
Superman
Batman
Robin (introduced in Worlds Finest movie....?)
Wonder Woman
Flash
Aquaman
Green Lantern
Hawkman and/or Hawkgirl
Green Arrow
Black Canary
Martian Manhunter

and with the Justice League set for 2015 I would of already wet my whistle with IM IM2 Cap Thor Avengers and possibly Avengers 2 Thor 2 and Cap 2 possibly Black Panther as well.......WB and DC would really have to blow me away after that horrible display that GL was, and yes I went to go see it lol im not just saying it because others on here are saying it or Im a pure Marvel fan. I love the Batmans I just dont think they had an idea from the get go. Marvel had this wheel turning ever since IM.

Marvel made a well thought out, up till and including now well executed plan on how they were going to portray/tie each Hero into eachother. I feel it would only hurt DC WB now to say "oh god The Avengers!.....wth are we doing with ourselves..." I really think they dropped the ball, thats not to say in the next 10 years they cant develop something....but its going to take a long......long time...and by then.....Ill be enjoyng my Marvel Box Set Blu Ray's lol

The problem is that they don't value the characters, and no one has shown them that they (other than Batman) are valuable outside of cartoons. In fact, they are very well connected with the word on the street that DC heroes are too perfect and considered jokes and etc. The problem is also that they had Harry Potter to handle all their big summer event needs until now, and now that they're trying to develop their superheroes, they don't have any experience doing so, so they're making the same mistakes FOX and Sony were making ten years ago, but with a much less forgiving audience.

That seems a bit busy for a live action movie that takes time to flesh out its characters so that they don't seem to be just walking powersets (aka cartoons).

I do think that World's Finest would be the best way to 'test the waters' and the one that WB would be most likely to accept. I'd do this:

TKDR 2012
Man of Steel June 2013
Flash July 2013
Wonder Woman Christmas 2013
Aquaman Spring 2014
Batman Reboot June 2014
Green Lantern 2 July 2014
Justice League May 2015
Flash 2 June 2015
Last Son of Krypton Holiday 2015
...

Roster: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter. That's more than enough for a superhero movie. LOTR could barely handle that many main characters, and that was a master work that didn't have to explain anyone's powers, and was 3 hrs long each!

Maybe something like this...

The Dark Knight Rises - July 2012
Man of Steel - June 2013
Superman & Batman: World's Finest - Summer 2014 (Henry Cavill + new Batman)
Green Lantern 2 - Winter 2014 (lower budget/expectations because of release date)
The Flash - Summer 2015
Wonder Woman - Winter 2015
Justice League - Summer 2016
Batman (World's Finest/Justice League continuity) - Winter 2016
Man of Steel 2 - Summer 2017
Green Lantern 3 - Winter 2017
The Flash 2 - Summer 2018
Wonder Woman 2 - Winter 2018
Justice League 2 - Summer 2019
Batman 2 - Summer 2020
Man of Steel 3 - Winter 2020
Justice League 3 - Summer 2021

Less bankable characters like Aquaman, Green Arrow, Martian Manhunter, etc., could feature somewhat prominently in the JL movies and have smaller roles in appropriate non-JL movies.

They're not going to release a Green Lantern 2 and I don't see WB green lighting another superhero other than Batman or Superman for a while.

I don't think they'll do one, either, to be honest. I just couldn't think of anything better to put there.

The problem is that Snyder has said that in his Superman film's universe, Superman is supposedly the ONLY hero, like how Batman is in Nolan's universe. If there is a JL film, it won't feature Cavill or Bale in their respective roles, and even IF they cast a new person to play Batman and say that this new batman is from the same Continuity universe from the Nolan films, Cavill will still be playing Superman in his solo films, and I don't think he'll be able to play Superman in the JL film, thus they'll have to have a new person come up and have a new backstory for that Superman, which will be that more confusing.

Heck worst comes to shove, they could just get Routh for the role of superman in JL since he's an already played the role, but again, this would be stupid to have two different versions of Superman going around in different films.

Indeed. I do recall Snyder saying that, which is unfortunate. I don't like the idea of one guy playing Superman (or Batman) in one movie series and another guy playing them in another series, while both series are still running. It just seems wrong to me.

They're not going to release a Green Lantern 2 and I don't see WB green lighting another superhero other than Batman or Superman for a while.

Isn't Hawkman already green-lighted?
And Green Arrow's SuperMax movie went into development hell somewhere/ sometime ago, but could be dusted off.

But honestly, Wonder Woman is a no-brainer. This *definitely* should be the next movie on WB's DC roster. Wondy deserves a full-fledged epic feature film, not a cheesy TV show. And unlike GL, WW could get by on name recognition alone....she's a pop-culture icon, and always will be.

TBH, I could see them actually fast-tracking a Justice League by focusing on just 5 core DC franchises --- Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and Flash. Pretty much every other DC hero is secondary to those 5 core granddaddies/ grandmammies.

You've already got Bats, Supes and GL released to the general public; bring out Wonder Woman and Flash by 2013/early 2014, and a 5-man/woman Justice League could be box office gold by summer 2014, only 2 years behind Avengers.

Hawkman never got Green Lighted. It was only in development.

DC I don't see greenlighting any movies soon, especially if Man of Steel fails.

I'll say this much, CA and Thor are the two films in Marvel Studios that they were able to create and end on a way where it left a lot of its audience members WANTING for more right away to see on what happens next with those characters.

Tbh, I never had that feeling with films like Iron Man 2 and TIH; Iron Man 1 to a lesser extent, but with Thor and CA recently and how those films ended, I just want to see the conclusion of their stories.lol

And what's even worse is that even though we'll see them again next year in Avengers, we'll only get a tease when it comes to addressing the some (not all) of the cliffhangers that were last left.

Anyone else ready to pop the champagne? I already have mine on ice.
