What If... Spider-Man #39
What If Aunt May died from the stress worry about where Peter was?

What If... Spider-Man #40
What If the Green Goblin had killed Peter in his hideout?

What If Norman didn't have memory loss?

In Spider-Man #40, it was revealed that Dr. Stromm was the creator of the chemical formula that turned Norman into the Green Goblin. Norman stole it, tinkered with the formula, and turned himself into the Green Goblin.
What If.. Dr. Stromm had become the Green Goblin?

Oops, double post.

What If.. Spider-Man #40
What If Peter had killed Norman Osborne thinking he had to in order to protect his secret identity?

What If... Reed Richards decided to stay with the army of Reed Richards in the alternate dimension crossroad?
Reed met a group made up of Reeds from many different worlds. They banded together to protect the Universe, but had to leave everything being.
Reed eventually left them behind, and decided not to worry about all the world's problems. But what if he didn't?

what if MR HYDE was aHERO not a villian

What if The skrulls copied every super power from every hero and villain in the marvel univerise.

What if Gwen Stacy was revived in BND.

What if Ironn Man was killed by Doctor Doom?

What if the justice league fought the x men?

what if Magneto fought superman?

What if Gwen Stacy was revived in BND.
Not sure what the story would be exactly, but I am sure fans would be saddened and angered that Gwen was brought back to life.
Her and Uncle Ben are the only characters who have been killed off and cannot be brought back ever.

What If... Peter Parker:
Peter was always the smartest kid in school. Even as Spider-Man, high school was never a problem because he was so ahead of everyone. But when Peter got to College things got harder, Aunt May got sick, Peter's life seemed so busy that school took a back seat.
What If it didn't? What If things went more Peter's way in College? Aunt May never got sick, in fact because of Peter's Spider-powered blood transfusion she was stronger than ever. Peter put his scholarship to good use, becoming the top student in his whole college.
Even being Spider-Man never got in his way, Peter was eventually approached by scientists like Tony Stark, Hank Pym, Reed Richards, and Hank McCoy, to work with them. Not because he was Spider-Man, but because he was Peter Parker scientific genius.
Um, thats all I got right now. There needs to be some problem that arises because this wasn't how it was meant to be. Perhaps Aunt May develops Spider-Powers because of the blood and becomes a target for the Green Goblin (who decided to stay hidden longer than he did in 616).
Peter has to cancel several appointments, job interviews, and meetings, and scheduled experiments with Pym, Stark, SHIELD, McCoy, Richards, and the Avengers in order to save his Aunt's life.
In the end Peter is unmasked in front of Aunt May, but he is able to stop the Green Goblin (who Peter accidentally kills while trying to stop him and save Aunt May). The Sinister Six is stopped as well, with a little help from the Avengers.
In the end Peter saved Aunt May, continued on his path of science and became a name mentioned alongside Stark and Pym and Richards and McCoy (one of the smartest men on Earth). And as Spider-man Peter went on to becoming a regular member of the Avengers. And Jameson had to stomach watching Spider-Man (and his papers photographer) become loved by all.
OK, maybe its too hokey. But maybe not every What If universe has to be worse than the real one. Maybe this Universe would have been better for Peter.

It's amazing how in one damn-day everything can come crashing down. I was supposed to test in front of Reed Richards today. No more interning, I was going to be a full blown partner in the lab. And then Norman appeared. That would have been less of a problem that it was. He brought back his Sinister Six. Even that I might have been able to handle... But he attacked Aunt May. He had no idea who I was, some sort of amnesia from being killed I suppose. He attacked because he had some sort of spider-powers tracker. Aunt May hadn't told me she'd developed them.

I missed my test to say the least. Aunt May's alive, plus I guess. She knows about Spider-Man and me, the truth now; Minus. Osborne had an ace up his sleeve this time though... he didn't have just the Sinister Six. He managed to hire a Sinister Sixty... okay, closer to 37 from what anyone could get an accurate count, but Sinister Sixty just sounds better. BIG FRIGGIN' Minus. The Four got involved, the Avengers... But they were at the edges of the fray, the guys who were hired to keep people like them busy.

Aunt May managed to help, I tried to pull her back, but he blocked with his glider... I shouldn't have done it, I don't know why I did but... I yanked. The glider hit the side of the building I was on, right where I'd been standing seconds before I'd leapt, and smashed. It wasn't easy getting it's weakest point to hit the building with maximum force, but my engineering classes had to pay for themselves somehow. I collided with Osborne, delivered three punches to key points of his body and he fell away. I grabbed Aunt May and hit the building with slide-webbing (webbing designed to Slide along a surface without loosing it's cohesion so as to cushion a hard swing) because I didn't think Aunt May would be able to take the sudden stop... I wouldn't make that mistake again. With one hand holding us up and the other holding Aunt May I didn't have time to shoot a line for Osborne, and the guys I didn't put on the ground, were busy with the other super-heroes. I watched helplessly as Osborne hit the ground... and died.

I was ready to be arrested. I was ready to go to jail for what I'd done. The Avengers however, told the press the full story. Somehow... I was a hero. THey told them who I really was, how I lived. The papers (except for the Bugle of course) called me "The Every-Man's Super Hero).

I with nothing left to go home to (My apartment was trashed by someone) I took the test, finally... here comes Reed. I must have failed, his face looks astonished.

Wow, great work. I didn't actually expect anyone to write it up. Cool stuff.
Only one thing, small and not too important, but i was actually thinking this would take place when Aunt May nearly died because of Peter's blood. That happened before he found out who Goblin really was and before Gwen.
But maybe it would be better if it took place after Gwen died and after Norman "died". Might have a better impact.

Pretty cool.

I can picture one final page, like a two page layout splash page showing Peter's future acheivments. Peter working with Reed, at Stark Tech with Tony, a giang Dr. Pym and a wall crawling Peter working on something in the lab, a group photo of McCoy, Pym, Reed, Stark, and Peter in the center. a Doctorate diploma. a maskless Spider-man with the Avengers. maybe like a wall of framed photos. To sort of show, without a word, how his future was better than anyone could dream.

Cool take on my idea, thanks. I like the perspective of Peter, expecting the worst. I also love the reaction you gave Peter to Norman's death. Even though he was trying to kill Peter, Peter wanted desperately to save him, but he couldn't do everything. And he felt so responsible he was ready to go to prison. And how, even though she had Spider-Powers Aunt May didn't get involved like a superhero.
Great stuff.

zoken you havent lost your touch good story

I didn't realize the time-line with her poisoning. I wanted Peter's future to be open to be a free agent, though if memory serves Gwendy didn't like Spidey too much. Was Capt. Stacy still around in the proper timeline? if so she might stick by Peter.

I just read those comics, thats why I thought of the time line, thats all.
Captain Stacey wasn't introduced when Aunt May nearly died, and when Peter first met Gwen.
Peter started college, and Aunt May instantly went into the hospital.
Turned out it was connected to Peter's transfusion.
When Peter met Gwen she didn't like him at first, thought he was stuck up, but did sense something about him that she liked.
Around that time Green Goblin came out of his sort of retirement (he had been laying low to get Spider-Man off his trail).
I guess even if Goblin died around that time, Captain Stacey was killed by Doc Ock right? So she would still hate Spider-Man.
Is that what you were wondering?

what ift..
he deadly foes of SPIDER-MAN exiled spidey into outer space?

What If... Tales of Suspense #78
What If Captain America joined SHIELD?
7810-2007-8618-1-tales-of-suspense_.jpg

Released in 1966. In Tales #78 the Avenger mansion is visited by Nick Fury, who is looking to see if the Avengers know anything about "Them" later known as AIM.
Cap is the only Avenger home, the others are taking the day off.
Cap and Fury remenise over old times and then one of "Them's" secret weapons, a genetically altered human that can change its chemical structure, attacks.
After Fury and Cap defeat it Cap mentions how he had tried to find Fury to see if he needed him to join SHIELD. But now its too late, Cap is sort of needed by the Avengers now. Fury tells Cap that he would fight alongside him any time no matter what crazy costume he wears. Fury gives him contact info and says next time he wont be hard to find.
Brief history,
But What If... Captain America had left the Avengers at that time in order to join Fury at SHIELD? How would that have effected the Marvel Universe? What would that have changed the Avengers? How would Captain America's life be different?

i think the avengers would have been absorbed into SHIELD sooner or later

"You're not a soldier anymore," Fury grunted. That stopped Steve cold. "You're a mascot, and an icon," He continued. "But not a soldier."

"You don't know me well enough, Fury," Steve nearly growled.

"My people are soldiers. We fight the good fight and we don't get our pictures in the paper. We don't get comic books or posters. You want to fight the good fight, my organization is the one to do it."

Steve hesitated.

And from that hesistation sprang many years and many strange turns.

"Hey kid," a voice said behind Spider-Man.

Peter turned quickly to see two men behind him.

"I don't think this is..." began one wearing an eye-patch.

"Just let me talk to him," the blonde one said.

"Who are you?" Spider-Man asked.

"We're from SHIELD," Steve explained. "We've been watching you for a while now... you have potential."

"Wow, I may blush," Peter deadpanned.

"We want you," Steve repeated, extending his hand.

Peter blinked. "Are you... were you...?"

And of course, how does one say "no," to Steve Rodgers?

What If... Kang had Conquered?
What if, during the very first encounter, Kang had killed all the Avengers?
What if Kang killed Iron Man (secretly Tony Stark), Thor, Captain America, Giant Man, Wasp, and even Rick Jones?
What would have happened next? Would he have taken over the world? Would have be ruler of this era ad move onto the next? Would other heroes rise to stop him?

What If... Loki had beaten the Avengers?

Loki was the very first bad guy, almost the reason for the Avengers to get together. What if instead of the avengers winning, Loki had killed Thor, Iron Man (secretly Tony Stark), the Hulk, Giant Man, and the Wasp? What would have happened next?
Would Rick Jones get some more heroes? Would the world be controlled by Loki? What would happen to the, then still frozen, Captain America? Would Namor still find him?

Charles Xavier's
What If...
Charles_Xavier_Earth-1610.png

For years the Watcher has brought stories of alternate realities and What If tales to the public, stories of alternative outcomes. Now I, the X-Men's Charles Xavier, bring my own What If stories to you, the reading public.
Using my mutant powers to delve deep into the minds of heroes and villains alike, I examine their deepest worries, wants, fears, desires, and fantasies.
These are stories of what the patient, say Spider-Man, thinks could have happened, or could happen.
For example, What If Peter had revealed he was Spider-Man to his Aunt May from the very beginning?
Years have passed now, and over time Peter has regretted and be glad that he hadn't revealed his true identity.
So now I, Charles Xavier, will show Peter Parker, and you the reader,
What if Peter Parker had revealed he was Spider-Man to his Aunt May?
I am working on this, the idea I was posting here was that Xavier hosting his own What If stories.
Peter reveals he is Spider-Man to his Aunt one day when he doesn't feel like lying to her about where he has been. Aunt May is so shocked and upset that she throws Peter out. She immediately calls her neighbor Emma Watson, and continues to work herself up over Peter's revelation. So riled up that she has a heart attack. Emma races over. Peter arrives just as the ambulance and the doctors are taking Aunt May out. When Peter asks what happened Emma reveals that Peter did this to her, and that he is Spider-Man. Peter runs as word spreads that he is Spider-Man and is responsible for an old woman being in the hospital. While Jameson spreads the word, Captain Stacey sends the entire NYPD after Spider-Man. While Peter is on the run Aunt May dies in the hospital. Peter's only ally during the whole thing turns out to be Flash Thompson, who hides him for a short time before Peter runs off. And the one person Peter thought he could count on, his on again off again girl friend Betty Brant, shuts the door on him forever. Peter is New York's most wanted, everyone is after him. He can't even see his Aunt to see if she is ok, or go to her funeral. Jameson even rigs it so that Spider-Man's top enemies release to capture him. In the end Peter becomes cornered, and there is no way out. Peter must fight. He battles the Sinister Six, and the NYPD.
(Because Xavier is reading their minds, perhaps he can intervien. Reveal to the patient what the reality of the situation would have been or would be. Or help them face their fears and come out stronger than ever.)(These shouldn't just be showing peoples hopes and worries. It should be an entertaining story as well.)
I remind you, these are not stories from another world or dimension. These are stories created by the minds, the psyches, of these heroes or villains themselves. Is this what would have happened? I cannot say, but I can tell you that this is why Peter never revealed his true identity to his Aunt.
I have shown you a scenario created by Peter Parker's own mind, and now I must leave you. But I will return to show you the thoughts and fears of other Marvel heroes and villains such as Bulleye, Galactus, Cyclops, Hank McCoy, Magneto, Maria Hill, Susan Storm, and others.

What if the New Mutants (old school) had become the new X-Men by Claremont, Art Adams, and Sienkiewicz double sized issue!

What if Xavier had recruited the members of the Brotherhood of Evil mutants and not Scott Summers, Jean Grey, Hank McCoy etc?

What is the FF used their powers for evil?
