What If...
Punisher Vs. SHIELD:

For years Frank Castle thought his family's death was random, killed by some crack head. It was his family's deaths that turned him into the vigilante named the Punisher. As the Punisher he acted without mercy, outside of the law. Killing more criminals than he can count. But recent events have revealed a far more disturbing truth, his family's murder is somehow connected to SHIELD. But how is it connected, and how far up does it go? Frank spear heads his investigation through the belly of the crime world, renewed in his war on crime. Frank eventually learns some more, enough to lead him to some military and SHIELD bases. But is Frank ready for what might come? Is he ready to wage a war on SHIELD, and possibly Nick Fury? Is he ready to become SHIELD's most wanted?
Frank is no stranger to war or being a soldier. He fought in Vietnam before he became a cop, long before he became the killing machine he is now. Frank attacks SHIELD and their bases, making his way to the top. Eventually SHIELD gets word about whats happening.
And the orders are clear. At every turn Frank is attacked by SHIELD agents right and left as he works his way to the head, Nick Fury.
Confronting Nick, at point blank range, Nick confesses everything. Or more realistically, Nick calmly reveals everything.
A directive went out, crime on the streets was too out of control. Frank fit the profile. They wanted a vigilante with incredible skill, one with military training, and the morals they required. (Nick even mentions setting up a spider-powered teenager using similar methods.) Frank fit the profile. His days in Vietnam, his psych profile, everything fit. All that was needed was a catalyst. His family was murdered by SHIELD to turn Frank into the vigilante killing machine that he is now. He wasn't the first, and he wont be the last. But saddly, now that he knows the truth his war on crime is over. He wont be leaving alive. Tommarrow the Daily Bugle will report the death of the vigilante known as the Punisher. Gunned down by some mobster enemies.
With SHIELD agents surounding him on all sides, guns aid at his head ready to fire, Frank tells Nick Fury "Your coming with me."

Marvel Madness...

Not really a what if but... eh. In all of the omniverse there is a power unique to universe 616. So unique that only four heroes (or hero-ish people) have ever displayed it. Now they must gather to save a lone hero upon who's very shoulders the fate of the universe rests. Howard the Duck leads a team comprised of himself, Deadpool, Squirrel-Girl, The Ape-universe Speedball (who was visiting Squirrel Girl to learn more about his 616 self, and is actually not supposed to be in the group), and She-Hulk. They are gathered and directed by a man in street clothes with a green sack over his head with eye-holes and a yellow "A" on his forehead calling himself only "The artist". The hero they must rescue has been lost in an alternate reality to which only he is capable of sending them, and only they can go for only they understand the internet rending secret involved... Forbush-Man is stranded in our world with people out to kill him. There is one catch however, in coming to our world, they will be divested of their powers. Only the Artist has a power in our world. Adding to the difficulty, She-Hulk has forgotten the secret which is the very power she was chosen for.

What If Hank Never Hit Janet?

What If Deadpool came into possession of the Carnage symbiote ?

What If Captain America fought in the Vietnam War ?

What if Spiderman still existed?

What if every new mutant didn't have some kind of disfiguring skin condition/deformation?

What if the X-Books were still interesting?

What if Cable still had super-powers?

What if X-Force had a good artist?

What if one single character didn't have a female counterpart?

What if Marvel went for 6 months without some kind of mega-event?

What if the Beast wasn't amused by tiny balls of string?

What if Marvel gave a damn about its readers?

What if Warren Ellis got off his lazy British ass and finished newuniversal?

Ohh. A man can dream, can't he? :csad:

What if Punisher was possessed by a Spirit of Vengaence?

That would end well for NO ONE...

Punisher + superpowers + Ghost Rider = Crazy obessed spirit of vengance with alot of firepower (hellfire bullets) who can now take on pretty much anyone on the planet, superheros, supervillains, and maybe if squirrel girl if he was prepared enough :p

What if Marvel gave everyone the biggest "F YOU!!" and rebooted the whole Marvel Universe??

What if the spider bite killed Pete instead of bestowing the powers?

What If Deadpool came into possession of the Carnage symbiote ?

What If Captain America fought in the Vietnam War ?

End run of the last deadpool series had him bond with a symbiote... didn't go well for the symbiote... it couldnt deal with the other voices in his head.

what if the bullet had hit Peter Parker instead of Aunt May....

I would like to know what that would have done to the civil war.

What If... Runaways

On a very large Quinjet, Captain America has just gotten off the phone. "I've contacted social services. They'll have most of the kids placed quickly. The youngest, the Hayes girl, She'll go into the care of the X-Corporation. They'll be taken care of."

Wanda, meanwhile, was watching a security feed. The youngest that Steven had just mentioned was curled up in a ball being held by the oldest, Stein. She was whimpering and crying. At times even asking for her parents. "Will they," she finally asked the group. "These children underwent a massive paradigm shift. They found their parents to be the bad-guys, one of their own to be working against them, and are responsible for their own orphaning... who exactly is qualified to take care of them. Not to mention they have powers they don't full understand just yet. Short of the Xavier Institute, who exactly is qualified to help them with that?"

"What do you want us to do, Wanda?" Tony asked. "We can only stop things from happening. We change the past."

"But we're just going to abandon these children?" She snapped.

"We're not abandoning them," Jennifer argued back. "They're being placed in the california foster care system."

Wanda rolled her eyes. "Clint, how wonderful did you find foster care?"

Hawkeye remained quiet for a moment. "It's crap," he said simply. "No matter where you are. Had a friend who was placed in an abusive home after losing his father."

"Not only that, but we are going to break up the last bit of family those children have left," Wanda added. she pointed at the screen that showed the children. "Maybe it's because they've known eachother so long, maybe because only they know what they've been through, or maybe because of the bonds of the battlefield, but those children are the only family any of them have left. Who are we to strip that away?"

"No one is saying you're wrong Wanda," Clint spoke softly. "But they question remains; What can we do? We're the 'Avengers', not the X-Men, and only one of them is a mutant."

Two weeks later the "Jim Hammond Foundation for Gifted Youths" opened up. A branch of the Maria Stark foundation, it provided a school in the desert of Arizona for young people with gifts to learn to control their gifts and continue their education. The identities of the student body were protected to protect their anonimity. The first class included the Runaways, Cassie Lang, and Squirrel-Girl. Many professors were hired to tutor the students so that all, even Chase Stein, found themselves on accelerated learning tracks. Notable professors included Scott Lang, Wanda Maximoff, Pietro Maximoff, Dr. Stephen Strange (who spotted Wanda's problems and removed her. with the help of Xavier she was sedated and remains in a coma, her personality still too unstable to unleash), and Captain America.

What If: Uncle Ben never died?
I know they probably already did that idea, but how would it have effected Peter being Spider-Man since he already had the powers and still let the criminal go? (it took Uncle Ben getting killed to teach him to be a hero.)

What If: Peter had stopped the criminal when he had the chance?

What If Peter (as Spider-Man), had stopped the criminal he let get away and who later killed Uncle Ben?
How would that have effected Peter? His career as Spider-Man? Him becoming a hero? His status in the public eye as a hero or vigilante? His interaction with other superheroes and villains? (Almost like a reverse of DC's Nail story.)

That might be a fun story to see.

I don't remember if May died instead, or if they both lived, but it did happen.

Basically, Ben plays Oracle to Spider-Man, and he's a lot more well adjusted thanks to not having to carry around all that guilt.

What if both May and Ben die?----Peter goes off on a "Batman" like quest and becomes a darker, more serious hero. On top of already being a genius, Peter, aided by his spider-powers, would become one of the worlds top martial artists.

What if Cyclops and Wolverine's personalities were reversed. Wolverine, having had a century or so to calm and control his temper (yes Sabertooth is still his mortal enemy, but Wolvie sees no reason to give Creed power over his life) Jim Howlett met and befriended a young Charles Xavier. Charles came looking for Jim when he dissappeared. the immediate attention from Charles did not restore all of Jim's memories (which Charles never learned so Jim is still fairly ignorant of his past), he does not become a monsterous animal.

Cyclops, after losing his family at a young age and a childhood of abuse on the streets and in orphanages is an angry distrusting rogue.

Loved the whole Cyclops/Wolverine idea, very plausible I think. Cyclops was almost the Wolverine of his team back in the day. Very brooding, dark, loner, isolated by his powers and past. Too bad they don't get along. They could be best friends.
Ooh, What if Wolverine and Cyclops got off on a better foot and became friends?

I don't exactly remember all the facts, but...
I think I remember reading some place that if (either the Ultimate X-men idea, or the movie X-Men idea) didn't work they were going to go a West Wing styled X-Men.

I am not sure what that would mean exactly, except for the X-Men being very connected to the Government in some way, but I thought it might be cool to see what that idea might have looked like.
So, What if that idea that X-Men/West Wing thing I just mentioned?

Something similar to this already happenned. Read Punisher: COUNTDOWN. Around this time, Microchip betrays castle and is killed, and an assassin is taking out Castle's contacts and friends.

It was in the 90s when a government spook brainwashed castle into thinking that Nick Fury killed his family. In the end, Castle takes out a bunch of SHIELD safehouses and destroys hundreds of Nick fury's doppelgangers. In the end, Punisher kills Nick Fury. Ghost Rider and Daredevil intervene to stop Castle and Ghost Rider gives Castle the penance stare and Castle wakes up from his psychosis. Afterwards he is given the electric chair.
