Comics What is Marvel thinking?!

Personally I said it before since brand new day there has been variety of things I like and not to much I haven't liked. So I don't think brand new day to now has been all bad.

So I wanted to ask folks for some ideas. Next month I am going to a con in my area. And I already have plans for one sketch cover to be done. But I was thinking of getting a sketch done on asm last relaunch first issue. And I wanted to see some ideas on what be a cool cover to do.

This just isn't Spider-Man anymore.

You should check out Renew Your Vows when its over. It is only five issues, but it is the return of the growing and changing Peter Parker we haven't seen since Romita Jr. left the JMS run (or maybe even Marvel Knights Spidey). You know the one who acts like an adult and has learned from his past mistakes and isn't a hopeless man-child.

I already miss having a reason to read new Spidey comics again.

screw the spider (though it IS pretty bad), how the hell can anyone endure that horrendous art?... it's an assault on a person's eyes and sensibilities... jesus... I don't know what's worse, Ramos' waste of time in pencilling or THIS piece of s**t... I guess it's a tie...

I don't see a issue with the art. Minus the spider to big that the artist shouldn't have done. This artist isn't that bad. Just has a different flair the say the artist who is the main series artist. Or others who currently drawn spidey in the past yr or two.

Take for example here is other works from the artist the artist just has a more artsy flair:

^^^ I don't find that interpretation of Spidey is bad... far from it... though his right should not look like it's pinned to an imaginary wall...lol... but that first page was awful and does NOT look like the same artist as above... in MY opinion.

Therm if your talking above cover for issue 2 from page one that is either alex ross cover or asm main artist that Italian guy I don't know his name off hand. The artist from past age or two is a totally different one we are talking about.

Not only is the art terrible but my goodness, is that suit just ugly. The symbol is awful. The way the red angles off the wrists is not pleasing nor is the way the red from the boots runs up the back of the legs. The whole design is pretty horrible.

donkey balls and blown chunks looks more preferable than this s**t-fest... how does this even get past the art director for publication?!?... is there such a lack of decent artists at Marvel that they have to fall back on desperation and a stable of bad artists?... doesn't ANYONE go to an art school anymore and just think self-taught is the wave of the future?... jesus...

Going to read it first and see how it goes. I'm so behind on my comics that once I dig into it they'll probably be onto the next thing already. I've really enjoyed what Dan Slott has done with the character on his run and if he's continuing on through this new "reboot" then I have faith that this will be pretty good. Don't know about the art on that cover that keeps getting posted but I would figure that's not what the interiors are going to look like. Are they?

I guess that depends. Is the cover art that we're looking at by the artist that is heading up this new comic run or is this a variant? If it's by the head-artist, then yes, I'd say it's gonna match the art inside the book.

Ultimate that cover above is just for a one shot/mini running along side the main amazing series. Like what just happened with conway mini. The point story artist is not the main series artist. That is that artist whos name starts with a G and i think is italian.

I can guarantee that if Ben Reilly were still wearing the spider-man webs, none of this crap would have ever happened. The clone saga is starting to look pretty good in comparison isn't it?

I'm also kind of sad Spidey's apparently no longer gonna be fighting many of his classic villains anymore. After completely destroying Felicia's character to make her into a villain, she's now a Silk character so she can't fight him. Norman's apparently depowered? Ock is dead, and also reformed, Venom is in space, and Carnage and Hobgoblin both got spun off. And to top it all off, Miles is getting Pete's normal role anyway, which means Peter's not gonna get to fight any of his classic villains for a long time.

So even more of this new series being Spider-Man in name only.

i am sure we will still see classic peter/spidey foes besides some new and interesting foes/other heroes foes. No reason to think we wont get that.
