If you think the Aliens in Aliens are not scary, then we have a different idea of fear. Granted, the suspense wasn't the same as in the first movie, but there were some noteworthy scenes where you jump, and can't help it.

When Burke puts his face next to the jar the face hugger is in, where Cpl Hicks climbs up and sees the Aliens using the pipes of the level above them to climb into the room....there are more, but those were the best ones.

Ok, I will give it a watch again when I get the chance, and give it my full undivided attention this time.

Well it wasn't very hard to be better than Batman Begins :funny: Other than Bruce Wayne's origin that movie was average with horrible hacked up, poorly framed action scenes.

And there's no way I can choose between Godfather II, ESB, or Aliens. Those are the very best. The rest of the sequels in the list fall quite a few notches below those three.

I don't consider ESB or Aliens to be better than the originals, and while GFII is a little better than I, it's not superior like TDK was to BB which was good but not great.

I have to give the edge to SM-2. I was very impressed, considering the first movie was "ehh... it's okay." It doesn't wear its welcome, the characters are nicely realized, the action is superb and the emotional payoff at the end is wonderful.

TDK is almost too much of a good thing. The movie left me exhausted and overwhelmed, in a good way. But I give the slight edge to SM-2, but both are equally good.

Empire Strikes Back, The Dark Knight, and Spiderman 2.

I still believe GFI is better than GFII, but I don't believe the sequel has to be superior to the original to be the best sequel ever. I voted by what's the film I like most and how big an impact it had as a sequel.

I voted Empire Strikes back over GodFather part II because to me ESB wrote the book on how to do a sequel and still had a huge impact on how modern day sequels are done.

Dividing the group, making them all struggle, giving them all kinds of hell only to barely get out unscathed. Plus you had more action, an continued development, and the famous reveal.

I voted ESB over GFII because of that, but barely.

I must make a special mention for The Two Towers since it hasn't been mention yet.

lol @ the Wrath of Kane.

Empire Strikes Back is the epitome of sequels. I'd have to give the Dark Knight & Wrath of Khan as close seconds.

even dumb, deaf and blind, feel the wrath of kane!!

i have to go by most memorable and by that i mean i just watched tkd yesterday again and it's fresh in my mind, so i would say tdk. i really liked watching batman glide, it looked really awesome.

The Empire Strikes Back.

I love Aliens, but I just don't love it enough. Something in that film doesn't work for me, like it collapses in on itself once you get to the stand-off in the command room. It's a brilliant film, but once I've watched the stand-off I start fidgeting and looking at the remote thinking about turning it off like I've already seen the best it has to offer. I'm a massive Alien fan, and I like where Aliens takes the franchise... but as an all round start-to-finish film, it doesn't have the holding power for me.

So, Empire.... Heroes on the run, bad guys fathering children, and Yoda acting cranky. What's not to like? It's the one I watch most out of them all, and every time I do, I want to load up truffleshuffle.whatever and buy a Yoda backpack.

It's how a sequel should be: taking what you know, turning it on its arse, and then making you more of a fan than you once thought possible.

This was a tough one but I had to narrow it down so I chose T2. Just for the fact that out of some of the sequels listed its probably the one I've watched the most.

But some of my favs on that list are Empire, Aliens, BTTF II and SM2.

LOL you know you're getting old when Aliens and T2 are under Toy Story, definitely a generation gap, guess it was inevitable at some point in time.

Sorry, I can't help myself but must point out that technically Temple of Doom shouldn't be on the list as it isn't a sequel.

I'm not following. Please elaborate.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over it; it makes no difference whatsoever. The couple of years mentioned are negligible to the point that fans of the series seldom realise, like you, that this is the case.

As was said above, it's a prequel. And doesn't it feel more natural that Last Crusade is the sequel, following on from Raiders with the same themes with Christian artefacts, Nazi villains, Sallah (Who I still believe is the key to a good Indy movie), Brody and the university and everything else?

it is? well you learn something everyday.

what in the movie gives away it's set before raiders?

Ummm, I've answered enough questions today. I'll let someone else have a go.

The year comes up on the screen, 1938 or something. whatever year it is, it's a couple of years before the year that comes up in Raiders.

when Lucas re-released them on vhs(along with the tv series), and put them numbered by episode, so's to match up and come after the tv series, ToD was episode 30(or whatever) and Raiders was episode 31.

Empire Strikes Back
Godfather 2
Spiderman 2
The Two Towers
Terminator 2
The Dark Knight
Aliens

In that order.

In that list, Toy Story 2.
But my personal favourite is Toy Story 3.
Toy Story 2 outdid the first in my opinion, and you'd think that'd be hard to top.
But in my opinion, Toy Story 3 outdid Toy Story 2.
And that's credit to Lee Unkrich, imagine how great 3 would have been if John Lassetter had been directing...:oldrazz:
