Comics What power level should Jean return with?

move that pen roach then! write us something to read about!

I put how I thought Civil War should have gone down in the "How would you do it" Thread....my ideas on the Xmen are there too.
I would make Bobby grow up. This guy has been the jokester/clown for too long. Cyclops would finally grow a pair and be a leader to almost rival Cap.

roach, although I like your idea, one thing that icks me is that Jean was never built to be a leader. I don't know, there's just something in her that I can't explain. I would've like the idea of the team splitting, but having Jean as the leader assuming Storm is in the group is kinda questionable.

my thinking is that Xavier isnt just training Scott and Ororo to be leaders...he's teaching them all. Making Jean a leader forces her out of the whole"Scott/Jean attached at the hip" dynamic that everyone traps them in. Remember that Jean is technically the first student of Xavier and that aside from Scott would have recieved more training than the others.

However in reality I probably would have Storm be the team leader but have Jean as act as leader in training

From a Wizard interview with Chris Claremont in 1991...

“Storm has serious doubts about her capacity to lead. Jean is very much a natural in that regard. Iceman is an unknown quality. Colossus doesn’t really drift in that direction,” he points out. “Archangel’s a possibility, but – if you’ll excuse my inadvertent pun – he’s a little too flighty, too psychotic. We’re talking about introducing a brand new sixth character to the team, but at this point, nothing’s been defined about him.

The interview was about the new blue and gold teams.

I think Jean is a leader. She may not be the main leader but she is usually second in command.

She was pretty much #2 in X-Factor and in Storm's Gold Team. During the morlock story when Storm was freaking out, Jean ordered Bishop and Colossus around.

Jean seemed to co-lead the Astonishing team from that mini (her, Cyke, Warren, Cable, and Nate Grey).

Jean seemed like a leader sometimes in Gambit's Revolution team.

Jean led the Eve of Destruction Team.

And Jean was Acting Head Mistress in Morrison's New X-Men.

Jean might be a good leader, but she's so far proved to be a great 'second in command.' It seems to work for her.

I agree and I would probably place her either as the leader or the second in command( I see her as Hawkeye to Scott's Cap in terms of leadership ability)
Trust me I love Storm. She has been the leader of the Xmen during most of my comics reading years...I think as Claremont did that she doubts her abilities due to all the things happening during her run.

My dream would be to see Warren back as leader of the X-men with Jean as his seccond in command. A team led by them would rock

I like warren but I have a plan for him...lol
I think it was a mistake for them to get rid of the metal wings

We see eye-to-eye when it come to Warren's metal wings.

And the stuff with Husk was....well bad.:csad: To think, he was in my top 5 in the 90's.

when it was explained that the metal wings were regrowing back the original wings I asked myself why would Apocalypse help someone else...my idea for warren grows out of the answer to that question.

Damn...on a team consisting of Cyclops, Phoenix, Cable, Nate Grey and Angel...who seems to stick out like a useless but no less heavenly thumb?

Angel is the third summers brother

One big, happy Summers family.
I would like to see them hold a family reunion.

Yeah Warren need some lovin' and some pointy metal wings. And while I do agree his romance with Husk was errr...but it does leave him something to talk about.

I think we can all forget about Angel's romance with Paige. Marvel certainly has. That hasnt been mentioned since CC wrote them in Excalibur v3

I don't think the metal wings need to come back. That'd just be contrived.

yeah...bring back the ENERGY wings and talons!!

They should have had Warren have the ability to transform his feather wings into the metal wings like Colossus turns his skin into organic metal.

Or they need to advance his healing blood to a healing touch. In the latest First Class while Warren was temporarily at his full potential due to the catalyst, he was able to touch and heal Quicksilver's wound.

I liked the energy wings and talons too. That could go along with the healing ability, imho.

i run an x-men rpg and i had warren gain the ability to generate a forcefield from his wings that reflects attacks back at people, along with the ability to charge objects like psylocke to give him that whole "flaming sword" look.

She should stay at 3. Girl received way too big an upgrade!!

I liked Warren's costume during Austen's run, it was very animeish. I prefer him without the metallic wings, he looks hotter with white skin than with blue :p

What really angered me is that Ozymandias clearly said that giving himback his wings was part of Apocalypse's plan... and we never learned why or what plan that was...
