Comics What power level should Jean return with?

Thats why I don't understand it when people act like Morrison made it confusing or convoluted.

He simplified it.
With Xorneto. Riiiiight.
Start a poll and see how many people can swallow that nonsense.

ok...this is all waay too confusing and complicated to explain and read through....someone needs to taken an entire eraser to every Phoenixy story AFTER DPS and start afresh...because this is bull****

Yep and yep.

Xorn has nothing to do with the Phoenix continuity. By the by on that, Xorneto was perfectly fine until Joey Q felt it necessary to mess with that and demand Magneto and Xorn be two different people.

Fact is, Morrison took all of the Phoenix mythos and streamlined it.

I still keep hope though that Jean never comes back.

oh you know its going to happen

Isn't she in a promotional banner for the Messiah Complex, in Cyclops' arms?

Doesn't that mean something? And the fact that in one picture, a column of fire is originating from the Artic, the last place Jean was seen alive?

If we take into account the Finch cover for 200 then we must asume that Revanche, Joseph, Maggot and many others are also coming back from the dead :p

Well Messiah Complex is supposed to shake the X-Men comics, so perhaps the revival of several characters will start writers off with a clean slate to work with.

After all, she is life incarnate.

That would make my year,.... as long as they include Sync and Doug Ramsey.

I want Cecilia Reyes back!!!!!!!!!!!! the other I don't care about :p

I'm not an avid comics reader, but I am just throwing in my thoughts based on what I've heard and seen regarding Endangered Species and Messiah Complex.

It looks like Jean is coming back, but then again maybe its just to throw readers off.

The baby does look a lot like her, and we all think it is, even if we say differentely

The baby has green eyes. Big deal. So do Banshee and Polaris. I refuse to believe this baby is Jean.

What if the child isnt Jean but the birth of 616 Rachel?

How can Rachel be born if her mother is dead and her father is boinking Emma? Didn't I post this already? I've read somewhere that and I came with the same answer.

Banshee is a boy, so he can't be it, Polaris is very much alive, so she can't be it. And neither of them got the ability to be a pain in the tujus, I mean to come back from the dead every time some writer has got a lame idea to add to her already convoluted story.

Jean is not "dead". She was resurrected in Endsong. Her body is very much alive, out there somewhere. As to her paternity, Chris Claremont origianlly was going to reveal that DoFP's Rachel was actually the product of Jean and the Phoenix Force with no father involved. That obviously never made it to print, but if this baby is 616 Rachel, then I can see it happening this way. Besides, a woman doesnt need a man to have a baby. Scott's DNA is out there, if you know what I mean, if the Phoenix wanted to procreate without any hassle. Im not saying this is the case; just throwing out another possibility

I would love for Jean to make a comeback and I just hope that she is freed from all this Phoenix mumbo jumbo.

Yes, I get that it is a part of her and all, but just lay off it for a bit. Say that Jean's body returned because of an abnormality (Because, she never died in Endsong, just went away to repair) in the universe or something like that and that the Phoenix Force is repairing itself in the White Hot Room for another billion or so years.

That could work, right? lol

I would have Jean come back as the White Phoenix(Which would make Emma mad because she's taking her color scheme now). She would pretty much be like Spock was during the movie The Voyage Home. Her return would divide the X-men since the whole Scott/Emma thing. However I'd have Jean desire to have her humanity back so she'd give up the Phoenix abilities by reversing Scarlett Witch's No More Mutants...the PF would re-energize the mutant race and return mutant powers to those who lost them. Jean would return to the X-men as a TP/TK with power levels around the time of the blue/gold teams. However she still has issues with Scott and the Xmen break into two teams, one led by Scott and the other led by Jean with Storm acting as her advisor in the same way Beast does to Scott.

Jean can't lead, the only time she did she was coached by Summers. Have Ororo lead and Jean advice and I'd buy it :p

In my mind I feel that all the X-men are trained to lead. I think her return would polarize the X-men. People didnt think Storm could lead when she first took over. Give Jeannie a chance.

I really like this idea.

Yeah it's because I would treat it as if it was real people reacting to what has happened...not just some event tpo get people to buy more x-books

the only thing that would seem odd would be people chosing sides between Scott and Jean. One thing I hated when Jean died is that no one besides Rachel, Betsy and to a lesser extent, Wolverine made an issue of Scott cheating and the way he moved on with Emma. They all either werent phased by it or didnt mind. I wish people had actually called him out like Storm, Cable and Warren who probably were the 3, I would think would be the most pissed off at him. Guess I can chalk it up to bad writing, but this didnt really make sense back then. If they were to become divided and take up for Jean now, that would be nice, but where were they before?
