So in other words, I dindn't watch SBTB because I was too old.![]()
Been watching SBTB for 18-19 yrs now.
Screech Powers Dustin Diamond
Sadly, the years have not been kind to Dustin. After SBTB ended, Diamond stayed on for Saved by the Bell: The New Class, an undisputed bomb. Around this time, he also dated Candace Cameron. For some time, websites occassionally sprung up to harass Diamond and his character Screech, portraying him as a homosexual in a much less than flattering light. In 2001, he produced an instructional video Dustin Diamond Teaches Chess. His most notable appearances have been roles where he plays himself, such as in Celebrity Boxing, Made, and Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star. He currently works as a raunchy standup comedian.
.
That sucks! I was 7 when the show premiered in 1989. And, I have never stopped watching the show!Been watching SBTB for 18-19 yrs now.
EDIT:
Yeah, 19 yrs cause I also watched Good Morning Miss Bliss in `88. That show was the original incarnation of SBTB. Some of you younger folks will remember it at the SBTB middle school episodes.
He did a sex tape too, ya know.

Was the original featured on Disney or something?

Yes, it was a Disney channel show in 1988. Then it was cancelled after only one season because kids didn't want to watch a show about teachers. So, in the `89-90 season it was moved to NBC and re-tooled into the Saved by the Bell we all know and love. Then, they made the biggest mistake next to SBTB: The New Class. They decided to add those Bliss episodes into SBTB so they could get the show quicker into syndication. Hence the opening with Zack saying, "Hey back in junior high we did. . ." And, the reason it was a bad decision was because as a result SBTB now has one of television's worst continuity. In SBTB we are introduced to 6 kids from a California high school. In Miss Bliss it was about a junior high school history teacher in Indiana, I believe, and her students. The sets were EXACTLY the same and we have 4 of the same characters. So, basically the producers of SBTB wanted us to believe that Zack, Screech, Lisa, and Mr. Belding moved from Indiana to a high school in California that looked EXACTLY the same!

I love how they all know how to sing and play instruments...
I love how they're PRETENDING to sing and play instruments. Well...Mario Lopez (AC Slater) actually knows how to play the drums.
Isn't saved by the bell historical now. It educates on the late eighties/early 90's
I liked California Dreams as well
This group can do anything.
