This is my idea for the sequel,
-Peter is now a senior in highschool. He is in a relationship with Gwen Stacy, who is more openly emotional and honest since her father's death in the last movie. Harry is seeing MJ.
-The film opens with Peter being late for 6th period because of a battle with the Rhino. The Rhino turns out to be a creation of Norman Osborn, hired by the Kingpin to distract Spider-Man from everyday street crime with supervillians. However, when Osborn learns his company is tanking he severs ties with the crime lord, takes advantage of his recently acquired super strength and becomes the Green Goblin, literally taking out the competition.
-Harry, more neglected than ever, turns to drugs. It doesn't help that his girlfriend doesn't seem to care either way. MJ gets a greater focus in this film, with Peter seeing that what he once mistook for playfullness and a free spirit, is actually apathy and callousness.
-Peter suspects OsCorp to be involved in the Goblin mystery based on the tech he uses, and investigates, finding Norman's lair. Norman sees Spidey unmask through the security tapes. They both learn one another's IDs,
-Norman invites Pete, Gwen, Mary Jane, and May to a dinner with him and his son, and drops several hints about knowing Peter's secret ID. Peter ends the dinner early by shooting webbing into the fireplace, causing a small explosion and evacuating the building. MJ dumps Harry.
-Gobby attacks May. Spidey shows up to Osborn's mansion in a rage. Spidey and Gobby battle. Norman explains to Peter his origins and newest ambition, to kill Spider-Man.
-Harry ODs, and Normans takes advantage of this by dressing him up as the Goblin and sending him into the city . Peter rescues him, and then goes to pound on Norman for what he did. Norman fakes amnesia after being hit, and Peter reluctantly accepts that the Goblin persona may be dead.
-The next day, Peter visits Harry with Gwen and MJ. After returning home, Gwen is kidnapped by the Green Goblin and taken to the Brooklyn Bridge. Classic death scene occurs.
-Peter stays crying over Gwen's body atop the bridge until nightfall, when helicopters start to circle overhead. He leaves her on the docks to find Norman. He finds him in an old warehouse. They fight. Norman offers Peter the chance to join him, claiming to be the one who made Spider-Man, through his Oz drug. Peter says it was his Uncle Ben who made Spider-Man, by instilling the "great power-geat responsibilty" value in him. Norman acidently impales himself on his glider.
-Peter returns home to Forest Hills, where he finds MJ waiting in his kitchen. He tries to kick her out, but she stays, comforting him.
- The film ends at Gwen's funeral, a couple weeks short of graduation. Peter claims he is "Spider-Man no more".
