The Amazing Spider-Man What should the story be???

This is my idea for the sequel,

-Peter is now a senior in highschool. He is in a relationship with Gwen Stacy, who is more openly emotional and honest since her father's death in the last movie. Harry is seeing MJ.
-The film opens with Peter being late for 6th period because of a battle with the Rhino. The Rhino turns out to be a creation of Norman Osborn, hired by the Kingpin to distract Spider-Man from everyday street crime with supervillians. However, when Osborn learns his company is tanking he severs ties with the crime lord, takes advantage of his recently acquired super strength and becomes the Green Goblin, literally taking out the competition.
-Harry, more neglected than ever, turns to drugs. It doesn't help that his girlfriend doesn't seem to care either way. MJ gets a greater focus in this film, with Peter seeing that what he once mistook for playfullness and a free spirit, is actually apathy and callousness.
-Peter suspects OsCorp to be involved in the Goblin mystery based on the tech he uses, and investigates, finding Norman's lair. Norman sees Spidey unmask through the security tapes. They both learn one another's IDs,
-Norman invites Pete, Gwen, Mary Jane, and May to a dinner with him and his son, and drops several hints about knowing Peter's secret ID. Peter ends the dinner early by shooting webbing into the fireplace, causing a small explosion and evacuating the building. MJ dumps Harry.
-Gobby attacks May. Spidey shows up to Osborn's mansion in a rage. Spidey and Gobby battle. Norman explains to Peter his origins and newest ambition, to kill Spider-Man.
-Harry ODs, and Normans takes advantage of this by dressing him up as the Goblin and sending him into the city . Peter rescues him, and then goes to pound on Norman for what he did. Norman fakes amnesia after being hit, and Peter reluctantly accepts that the Goblin persona may be dead.
-The next day, Peter visits Harry with Gwen and MJ. After returning home, Gwen is kidnapped by the Green Goblin and taken to the Brooklyn Bridge. Classic death scene occurs.
-Peter stays crying over Gwen's body atop the bridge until nightfall, when helicopters start to circle overhead. He leaves her on the docks to find Norman. He finds him in an old warehouse. They fight. Norman offers Peter the chance to join him, claiming to be the one who made Spider-Man, through his Oz drug. Peter says it was his Uncle Ben who made Spider-Man, by instilling the "great power-geat responsibilty" value in him. Norman acidently impales himself on his glider.
-Peter returns home to Forest Hills, where he finds MJ waiting in his kitchen. He tries to kick her out, but she stays, comforting him.
- The film ends at Gwen's funeral, a couple weeks short of graduation. Peter claims he is "Spider-Man no more".

I would start the reboot.

At the funeral of Uncle Ben. Peter is holding his Aunts Mays, hand as the rain pours. Peter is quite withdrawn. The bearers carry the coffin into the church and attenders sit. Anna Watson is sat on the other side of her friend May.

The Father begins reading. It then goes into a flashback in Peters mind, how the he is responsible for all of this. He is then asked to read his Uncles eulogy, but runs out into the rain.

So Peter is being pained by guilt and being Spider-Man helps him through it. So the movie would be about him coming to terms with his loss and guilt and realising the responsibility of his powers is a way of redemption, over the responsibility over his Uncles death.

If I were writing the reboot I would have it take place weeks after Uncle Ben's death, Peter is still guilty for not preventing it. Peter is a C student, but because of the spider bite it gives him super intelligence. He uses that to create web fluid and web shooters. Peter is a nerd that plays video games all day, Mary Jane is a nerd and his best friend. JJ campaign of using his paper to turn the public against Spiderman is working, this inspires Cletus Cassidy to become a serial killer. He kills people wearing a Spiderman mask. Spiderman
has a contact on the police force Captain Stacy, he is under investigation for aiding Spiderman. I would have Mysterio be the main villian, working in some capacity in the police department aiding Cassidy. Mysterio is an assassin, killing people for the right price and making it look like an accident. Gwen Stacy is a troubled suicidal teen who has just transfered to Peter's school, she befriends Peter and becomes his protector. They bond over being outcast, MJ doesn't like Gwen because of her getting close to Peter. Cap. Stacy is murdered by the serial killer, Spiderman is fugitive from the law. Spiderman defeats Mysterio and clears his name. Gwen moves into Aunt May's house. She hates Spiderman even after learning he didn't do it, and vows to go after everyone involved.

Ugh, no Carnage. :o ^

And Peter should be a smart kid. Not a C student, he's always depicted as a smart kid. It's Spidey that should make his grades dip eventually.

I really like your idea on how to incorporate the origin into the film, Rodrigo90.

i must say, i would like to see venom, maybe for the fourth (if they go that far) it will have been like 11 years by then.:)

Thanks guys.

I got the idea out of a Spider-Man Annual Book. It was quite a dark tale. Its the anniversary of Uncle Ben's death and Peter sits by Ben's grave in the pouring rain. Peter talks to his grave and reminisces about the past year, going into a few short tales. It then ends with Peter saying he couldn't bare to lose anybody else in his life, with Gwen then finding him, saying the Green Goblin is waiting for Spider-Man to show up. So its hinted that is the night she dies, quite a bleak story IMO. But it was pretty powerful.

That would be an outstanding idea.

Thank you.

The way I would approach the flashbacks wouldnt be through Peters narration,as I feel his monologue should be left with Raimis Spidey movies.

It would be a few brief scenes of when he was biting. Creating his outfit and Web-Shooters. Using his powers to win the money at wrestling and refusing to stop the burglar by saying to the officer that he is sick of being used by other people,it isnt his responsibility and is only taking care of him and his family. Then that would show him returning home after winning more money and finding his Uncle Ben being placed in a body bag. Then cutting to the warehouse and confronting the killer and learing its the thief. It would be roughly 3 to 5 minutes really.

Then back to church scene. Peter is asked to read a letter he wrote for Ben,but runs back home alone, distraught. He ends up burning the money he won. Aunt May returns the letter to him, which is a poem about forgiveness. On that day,Peter decides to honour his Uncle and becomes Spider-Man.

Electro seemingly drawing upon the entire city's power supply in an epic final confrontation with Spider-Man.

There all fairly great ideas, we hope that Spidey is done right

Great idea Rodrigo90, I was thinking slightly different; but similiar.

The movie starts with a huge explosion inside Oscorp. Peter Parker dressed in costume but without webbing, he is in a wrestling ring throwing an opponent out the ring. Peter goes to collect his money, but the promoter won’t pay him unless he takes off his mask, so peter takes a bag of money that the promoter has.

Peter is Jumping off a roof as he has flashbacks

08-3.jpg

of his fellow nerdy best friend Mary Jane waking him up at the mall, because Uncle Ben has come to take them home.

US01p09.jpg

The next day Peter is in school where he is part of a group of three that get bullied himself, MJ, and Max Dillon. Peter and Max gets physically abused from the boys, and MJ gets mental abuse from the girls. Peter also gets bullied at PE.

US01p13.jpg

Now thats an awesome Spiderman Story
ehhh...at least you think so i suppose, right? ;)
- Peter becomes an amatuer wrestler with a secret identity, but when the owner of the ring won't pay Peter unless he reveals who he is, Peter takes it out on him by allowing a thug to rob him. The thug later carjacks and kills his Uncle Ben. Out of guilt and a feeling of responsibility, Peter becomes a superhero.
sounds like raimis here...so wouldnt that be copycat'in except for the owner wanting to know his identity

From wikipedia:
The studio lined up Roland Emmerich, Tim Burton, Chris Columbus, and David Fincher as potential directors. Fincher did not want to depict the origin story, pitching the film as being based on The Night Gwen Stacy Died storyline, but the studio disagreed.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! If they disagreed on that storyline then...it will most likely not be used here. Damn you Sony!

So David Fincher was going to give us from day one Gwen Stacy and The Gwen Stacy Story arc, from an actual great director with a vision. And look what we ended up with. :cmad:

The thing is, the wrestler origin Raimi did was the same origin Spidey has in EVERY adaptation. It's common knowledge now, so they can skip it or mention it vaguely while cutting straight to the story like Spectacular Spider-Man did.

I think the story for the first movie should be about the reactions of criminals when suddenly a guy named "spiderman" is fighting crime in New York.
My plot goes something like this:
the first movie:
Movie starts with uncle Ben's funerals, Peter starts talking with an inner monologue, says pretty much what's going on, and a quick flash back to the "spider bite" thing. This scene doesn't yet explain all the way what happened with Ben, but there would be more flash backs when the story progresses. Near the end there would be a flash back where he sees the robbers face and realizes that it's the same guy that shot uncle ben.

As the villains there would be shocker and the scorpion. Here's what I had in mind:

J. Jonah Jameson hires a guy named MacGargan to spy on Peter Parker, because he wants to know how he's the only one able to get pictures from spiderman. When Peter notices that he's being followed, he desides to humiliate Gargan publicly as spiderman, and from that day everyone pretty much laughs at Gargan and thinks he's a loser. Some crime boss (maybe even kingpin if that's possible) hire's Herman Schultz/shocker to take spiderman down. MacGargan sees this on a TV while he's in a bar, he sees that shocker almost wins Spiderman. Then he realizes that he could actually defeat spiderman, he just has to find the guy that was able to built the shocker equipment. He could earn fame by defeating spiderman, and also get his revenge. He finds an illegal doctor named Farely Stilwell, who works with a guy known as the tinkerer. Stilwell does all the scorpion dna crap to gargan, and tinkerer builds the tail and a little of armor. If you wan't to hear more about my storyline for the reboot, just reply. I also have some casting choices if you'd like to know.

Agreed with the established origin. Gwen should be his first love

Yeah, but should they make some of that stuff called love?

Why not? They did plenty of times in the books, it's often alluded to even though you don't see it. Surely you do not have a probelm with that of all things, lol.
A girl needs something more than an obsessive compulsive need to buy her ice-cream and flowers to keep her interested.
edit: They should have them in a relationship if she is around, or at least the beginnings of a relationship in the 1st movie. Spider-man always had girlfriends around him in the books, this will be no different for the re-boot.
word of advice to anyone taking a date to the new Spider-man re-boot: Don't start exclusively talking/comparing it to the Raimi movies during or after the movie. This will indicate you are a bore who has nothing more to say about the world, talk about other things as well as the movie. Of course, this advice will not apply to everyone, sometimes you can just tell, lol.

and as for Fincher directing Spider-man, he always said that he would have went with a very dark series of films, they would have not felt like Spider-man at all. He would have made it feel like the Crow/Batman/Daredevil, it would have looked like Seven with a black suited Spider-man scaling about like a dark avenger of the night.
and the night Gwen Stacey died was an exceptional story, it is not your typical Spider-man story, to open a Spider-man trilogy with that one would not have been representing the character properly, especially directed by Fincher. It would have been deliberatly going for the darkest story in his oevre in order to twist the franchise around into making the kind of 'dark' Spider-man film Fincher would be interested in making. In other words, if Fincher wants to make a dark series of superhero movie, he shoukld look to invent his own, or get ahold of another franchise.
He also pitched a dark Spider-man series back in the early 90s. He would have been a mistake for this series.
It would have been like someone twisting the most lighthearted Batman story in print around to make a series of lighthearted Batman movies, and say 'but it's just like the comics, I based it on the stories when MrFreeze owned an ice-cream parlour and hit Batman in the face with an ice-cream cone!'
Stupid.

I don’t see a need not to. What I dislike about Sam’s adaptation is that he overly engulf the “Love” angle in the story, and the fact he did not start with Gwen when opening the series with Green Goblin. Love should be one of the qualities that support the character persona as far as who he is, and why he chooses to protect his identity.

I would not like a Spidey film to be that dark; but it can hugely benefit from some dark elements in the story that can lends itself to more mature and realistic situations that one expect to counter in the real world; if there were such a thing as a teenage boy with superhuman powers and ability, facing a super villain with superhuman powers and ability himself. Yet remain true to the character who is just trying to find his place in this world, with his young life.

Of course, no doubt, it's just that Fincher's take would have been too much, he would have basically turned the Spider-man character into his own concept. It's rare when Spider-man goes darkside, usually when something major happens, like in the Gwen Stacey death, or in 'Back in Black', you can't have that tap turned on for all the movies, like Fincher wanted.
