Marvel/Disney Ultimate Spider-Man is nothing short of a disgrace.
Sony's Spectacular Spider-Man is one of the best animated shows ever.
Sony's SM2 is the highest rated superhero movie ever on RT.
Sony's Amazing 1 and 2 has made more money than IM 1 and 2, Thor 1 and 2 and Cap 1 and 2.
I've never seen more biased data in my life... It's posts like these that brainwash people into thinking Sony should keep the rights.

Spectacular Spider-Man was the first time I was engaged with regards to Spider-Man in years. That was tight story telling and I think that could translate to movies with ease.

I guess it could be done

regardless, my idea wasn't exactly about the parents. in fact, it's not at all. it just merely acknowledges that he lost his parents and that his dad was a scientist. he wouldn't be connected to Connors

it's just that Spider-man is a fine balance of soap opera'ish story telling and crazy super villain action. the difference between the actual movie and my idea is that instead of dragging on something in the past like the parents issue, it focuses on the present with the Connors issue. It's just that both having lost something is a part of how they'd bond.

No more biased than the 'Sony is the devil' posts.
I won't list the Amazing series as it is so decisive, but Sony in a decade have given us;
SM
SM2
Spectacular Spider-Man seasons 1 and 2

On the basis of quality, Apes sucked. So, I would call it a one-off if anything.

Apes sucked?

They're also responsible for SM3, TASM 2, and an upcoming S6 film.

In those two movies alone they gave us snowboarder Goblin, Sandman, Venom, Electro, Rhino, and 2 minute robo Goblin...

Sony hasn't made a good Spidey film in 10 years. Talk to me when Marvel Studios has a drought like that.

So, what's going to be Sony's plan ? Are they making Sinister Six, Venom, Female lead Spider-Man, and TASM 3 ?

Nope, nope, nope, and nope. Especially with how crowded the next 5 years between the DCU/MCU... They need to give up.

That is the plan for now officially. However ,you've always have to keep in mind that plans change in Hollywood all the time so nothing is set in stone until the film is in the can. That's the thing that fans always seem to forget , then they get shocked or outraged when a studio delays or cancels a project. That said , for right now that's their goal.

Imagine if the very first scene we see of Spider-Man in the ASM was Spider-Man falling from the sky to take on the runaway truth with him quipping up a storm. THAT is how you should have opened he new direction. I like your idea of the webshooters but I think the audience are smart enough to catch on the webshooters are no longer organic, or at least the movie shouldn't slow to show them.

If you're talking about the fall from the sky such as the one in the beginning of TASM2, that would have made for a hell of an intro.

I don't feel sorry for Sony. They took Spidey for granted, and ignored the importance of getting the reboot right

If Spidey gets to be in Infinity War or Civil War, it still wont probably make anybody forgive Sony, but it will without a doubt create a new wave of fandom for the web slinger

It would grab a new wave of fandom purely because he is interacting with the big boys, not because they would be able to do much with him being in 2 war titled movies, the other marvel characters already have a head start in the MCU

Well unless it's garifeld or sony reboot by 2015, and if the sinister 6 rumours are true that's not gonna be a great reboot either

Yeah because I am sure thats how they are looking at it

A studio owns one of marvels biggest characters spider-man and they will give him up purely because they can't complete with the other studios plans

I'm pretty upset with Sony right now. I cannot believe they did not go through with Spidey joining the MCU. I was so hopeful yesterday just to be let down. You think I'd be used to this by now. ugh

My two favorite comic book movies of all time are TDK and X-men First Class. Both movies followed periods where their respective franchise were on its knees.

but Spidey has deeper and more iconic roots in the pop culture and Spidey arguably started the superhero movie craze so he has a head start of sorts too

besides, GA isn't as interested in Spidey for two reasons: because sony isn't doing him justice which is now a well known fact, and cause he isn't a part of the Marvel universe.

if Thor wasn't a part of the MCU people would be just as interested of him as sony's Spidey if you consider Thor's track record in movies

I thought Batman Begins was pretty successful and well received. I remember being one of the few to dislike it at the time.

it wasn't financially huge and many people were debating if we would ever get to see a sequel

Its crazy how little I remember of that. It only came out a year after Spider-man 2, but I remember almost everything about seeing that movie like it was yesterday.

I had that for a long time until I watched it before TDKR. I actually hated it too, but I was like elementary school age so I had no perspective of anything

Same. I like it now. I thinks better than the third, and an overall good cbm now. Still not the biggest fan of the trilogy though. I just remember being upset because it wasn't like the cartoon.

Batman Begins left no impression on me. TDK is the best CBM I have ever seen. I wasn't going to bother with TDK but then the reviews started to roll in. The best Batman movie followed the worst Batman movie (B&R). Same studio.

holy crap, that's exactly what I thought :funny: I was thinking like "why on earth is the villain this monotone guy with a funky beard"

the time when man bat was like obviously the best villain of the roster

I think Marvel, but namely Feigie, is way to smart to enter into some type of agreement with Sony. There's no doubt in my mind Sony would leave a negative mark on the MCU with their Spider-man and I for one am glad it's not happening.

I don't want to ever see Spider-man in the MCU unless it's Marvel pulling all the strings without ANY input from Sony.

Personally i like batman begins the most out of all 3 purely because it feels more like a batman movie then the other 2
