Transformers What the Hell? Bumblebee a CAMARO!!??

I only care that they ACT like themselves...and not cold machines. The Autobots have to have great character growth amongst themselves.

That is the MAIN thing I want outta thsi film...is for the TF's to have good characterization and not be secondary machines that have no emotion or individual traits.

here's my point about the movie: i'll reserve judgement on the integrity of the film until I see it. i'm not going to pretend that bumblebee or any other transformer can't be true to character if they don't mimic their G1 alt mode.

maybe you ought to just chill a little and see how it plays out? your fears may very well be proven justified. and if so I'll be on here complaining right along side you at the poor quality of the film. but let's wait for a more appropriate time to do so.

Hey. I capitulated on the BB thing already. As well as the "environmental" themes of the original TF story.
I was just responding to the VW fallacy... which some people state as "fact" when it's a fallacious argument and should be corrected... even by those that like the muscle-car, souped up, cooler-than-cool hot-rod BB.
That's all.

Okay...remember though CFlash...Bumblebee IS NOT going to be a suped-up, cooler-than-cool hot rod...he's a junker Camero...one that's beaten up, dented, scratched, rusted, and is RUMORED to have engine and axle problems.

He doesn't get suped-up and turned into a hot rod until after something major happens to him and he gets his newer alt. mode/upgrade. Which is EXTREMELY similiar to how Bumblebee was rebuilt into Goldbug. Goldbug was also faster (by a lot), had better maneuverability, MORE fuel-efficent, and stronger than Bumblebee ever was.

If all the rumors turn out to be true, Bumblebee isn't a hot rod at all...he's a junker car that's worse off than an old Beetle. It's not until his upgrade that he becomes a hot rod car...much like how Goldbug was much faster and stronger than Bumblebee ever was.

If they take offense to that, then I don't know what to say. I think the debate on Bumblebee has been tried, tested and true. What else can be said?

Anyways;

I'd be more then happy if they kept bumblebee's original alt form, but for whatever reason they didn't. Am I upset about it? No. I'm fine with this new alt form. I just think people are blowing this out of proportion, sure they have a right to be upset, and they sure have a right to opinion. But so do I, and I don't think it's that big of a deal.

If VW doesn't want their precious bug in this movie, fine. But not a Camaro/muscle car...yes I know, it's a 1970 busted up Camaro, but it ENDS up looking like a muscle car. Look at those pix man..it looks like something outta Tokyo Drift. Remember that Bumble is one of the smaller guys in TF. If Bumble is as big as a 70's Cam, he'd have to tranform and end up BIGGER than Jazz, Hot Rod, and most of the other car-guys. I mean if Sound Wave ends up 4 ft high to keep it believable, they gotta do the same for BB.

At least give this guy a small model body...like..Mini Cooper? Geo Metro?

seriously though, it's not like they're having lil ole bumblebee transform into a yellow aircraft carrier, flash. it's a moderate change. and as for going from junker to new & improved vehicle, there's already established precedent for it, so to me it's not akin to gleefully spooning satan.

I agree. In a time where hot-rods were quite popular (Knight Rider, Miami Vice, The Wraith, Back to the Future), I wonder why Jim Shooter and Bob Budiansky picked the little yellow minibot to be the main introductory character in Transformers. They were given free reign by Hasbro to create the "characters" and backstory.... they could have easily picked Windcharger- he was a hot-rod.
