What was the last movie you watched? Part 2

I have a feeling the book it's based on was probably good, but the film is way too fragmented to form a cohesive narrative, it's atmospheric but uneven, and while it was made in 1987, Donald Sutherland is firmly in his "smell the fart" acting, 70's bag.

I'm obviously in the mood for a CBM. These DC animated movies are surprisingly decent, they're such an easy gateway into the many facets of DC Comics.

A View to a Kill Really bad, Moore was still, at least at times, fairly likeable but he just sadly was no longer believable or impressive in the action, Walken was disappointing, just decent in just 2 or 3 scenes and lacking in the rest, Moore and Walken felt like they just did it out of obligation and Roberts was terrible.

And The Incredibles Good with some parts, particularly with Hunter, Jackson and Lee very good but Mr. Incredible and too much of the story/tone was a bit too overblown-offputting, Mr. Incredible, Dash and, though Lee does well, Syndrome feeling at least a bit too overdone (as if knowing some, maybe many viewers would sympathize too much with Syndrome so overdoing the EVIL VILLAIN aspects to try to compensate/overcompensate), from back in 2004 it slightly bothered me and now it really bothered me that Bob's boss and Edna were not realistic height like the other characters.

Absolutely they are. I know someone who doesn't buy the comics at all, but loves the animated movies and shows, owns a ton of them, and most definitely qualifies as a DC fan.

Had been waiting years for this. Worth the wait. I didn't notice much different in Oren's anime sequence, but there were some improvements. The Crazy 88s sequence returning to color was a highlight, as was a line that was taken out that added to Vol. II's emotional impact.

So damn jealous.

I really wanted to love this movie because I adore all the actors, but something just fell flat to me. From yet another infamous scene of a character telling people in power “I did this and this and this and now you have to do this or else” to some so/so action sequences that weren’t as clever as they thought they were and a somewhat unsatisfying conclusion, I expected more from it. It felt to me like someone was watching Mr. Robot and Taken and just thought, “hey let’s do both of those things in one movie.” I love Rami Malek, Rachel Brosnahan and Caitriona Balfe. All of them deserve better than this.

I'm heartbroken that there's just one more Stalked by My Doctor film left. They're the best thing on Lifetime, and Eric Roberts is hilarious and brilliant as the murderous Dr. Beck. In this one he's in fine form, whether he's making amorous plans with a sleepwalker, having a meltdown in a bathroom, or hallucinating all sorts of wild scenarios.

Well this was an odd one indeed. Die Hard on a boat as it is often referred to and premise is a pretty cool one, although The Rock did it much better a few years later but I guess overall its not the worst action movie ever made, it has the odd moments but the lead just doesnt have the charisma or charm to sell the whole thing like a Die Hard or Lethal Weapon movie of similar times. In fact Seagal's "character" is the least friendly and likeable guy on the boat and he's meant to be the hero, lol. What elevates it though is Tommy Lee Jones, in full Two Face mode, and Gary Busey who are both let off the chain to seeming say and do whatever they want and somehow it works. I feel for poor Erika Eleniak though, who is treated pretty poorly by the characters and feels written by a 12 year old again but I guess it was just that way a bit like that at that time of movies this was made, anyway I hope she got a fat paycheck and she did what she could with what little she was given.
