What was the last movie you watched? Part 2

This was a great murder mystery story. I actually don't remember what happened in the prequel, but this was a solid story. I loved that Poirot had quite some fame around him here, and was totally self aware about it. "Tell the authories that Poirot is taking this case!". LMAO! (and of course I love that)

Prom Night IV: Deliver Us from Evil

Last of the original Prom Night movies. After the full-on horror-comedy of Prom Night III we're back in more serious territory (no ghost of Mary Lou). Two teenage couples decide to skip their school prom (at Hamilton High) and head for the isolated summer home owned by one of their families. Unfortunately... a serial-killing priest has just woken from a 30 year coma (after murdering 'fornicating students' outside the 1957 prom), and feels he has more of the 'Lord's work' to do. Resuming his killing spree he heads to his old seminary - only to find it's now the very summer home the teens have gone to. As the horny kids begin to 'desecrate' the old college, they become the focus of the priest's murderous intentions.

The whole thing is more polished than the previous films, and is pretty much a playbook for slasher movie convention. If you know the rules (see Scream) you'll be able to predict who lives, who dies - and in what order (won't these kids ever learn the perils of premarital sex?). It has a cracking opening 15 minutes, and whilst the rest of the film doesn't quite hold-up to that, it's still very entertaining. Plus we get a bizarre meta shout-out from the principle cast to Jamie Lee Curtis (who as well as starring in the first Prom Night, of course helped launch the 80s slasher craze that Prom Night was still riding the wave of). Some T&A. For me, the best of the four. 7.5/10
