What was the last movie you watched? Part 2

THE MARVELS (2023) Starring Brie Larson, Teyona Parris, Iman Vellani, Samuel L. Jackson, and Zawe Ashton. Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and Monica Rambeau become cosmicly connected and must work together to save the Earth from a pissed off Kree with great power. More comical than I expected. It seemed a bit jumbled and confusing at times. Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel was the star in my opinion. Be sure to stay for the mid credit scene....it's a great set up for future MCU movies.

The Hound of the Baskervilles (1988)

TV movie starring the great Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes, with Edward Hardwicke as Dr Watson. Co-starring
Kristoffer Tabori as Sir Henry Baskerville, and Ronald Pickup as Barrymore. Strong adaptation, loaded with mist-shrouded atmosphere, and great performances. The Dartmoor locations look fantastic (actually filmed in Derbyshire, in the Peak District). The hound is big and glowing, and that baleful howl across the moors never fails to make you sit-up a little straighter! The whole production exudes class - as was the case with all of Brett's Holmes run. Basil Rathbone's version of HOTB may still my favourite, but this - with (for me) the greatest Holmes of all - comes very close. 8/10

Excellent .
Just Excellent.

As a child growing up in the 80s, I heard about The Thorn Birds miniseries and how reveired it was .
Unfortunately , I was too young to watch it , and more into Superman and Star Wars than I was into sweeping Mini Series , event TV.
40 years later , I've finally watched it , and it was well worth the wait .
Needless to say , the hype is real .

Outstanding performances from Richard Chamberlin, Rachel Ward , Jean Simmons, Christopher Plummer , one of the GOAT's Barbara Stanwyck, in addition to Piper Laurie, Mare Winningham, Ken Howard, Bryan Brown, Philip Anglim , and a very young Brett Cullen pre- The Dark Knight Rises and Joker a few decades later.

This will definitely be something I revisit, in the years to come .
