What was the problem with the fire bird?

ghost rider is another example of taking time to make it better!

Why couldn't SR or X3 be put off until the following year? It's crazy

2 reasons.

1) Fox wanted to beat Singer in the race to release there films first.

2) Fox wanted money.

But what i dont get is that Singer wanted 200 mil to direct X-3 and X-4 back to back. Fox says no, turning down 2 fantastic movies. So then they loose singer and throw the same amount at a few incompetant ass holes and create a big pile of ****. they couldve got double the profit with double the films. By spending the same amount. Someone explain there logic to me please

^^^ Sam Raimi admitted that SM3 could have been released early, as early as late this year, but explained that Good special effects take time to make. I don't know whether that was a jab at X3 and the dangers of rushing production or what, but it sure sounded like other studios are taking notice to how X3 was made and are trying to avoid making the same blunders

We can only hope so.

But.. remember that Vaughan's departure was not a factor the studio predicted (although he left precisely because he didn't feel there was enough time, he ended up leaving the studio with even less time!).

Also, the effects for the firebird seem to have been governed by John Bruno's effects concepts rather than a time issue.

Time also has no effect on Ratner's more energised style/pacing, and the designs for Beast, Angel and Juggernaut don't have the feel of being 'thrown together' in a hurry. Nor does the bridge moving sequence. The only effects that, to me, look poor are Jean's upright flying at the end.

More time would not have suddenly made this film what the haters wanted.

It would be interesting to hear what they had to drop solely because of lack of time.

A lack of time might have had some influence on the decision to have the battle scene at Alcatraz, but that was also influenced by wanting to make the bridge-moving sequence link directly to the climax of the movie.
