- 3D will boost numbers. People might not want it, but it'll add another 15%+ to the overall gross
ADD WULVEREEN!! HES TEH ONLY XMAN WHO MAKES MUNNY!!!1
Just kidding. Yeah, I agree with Infinity... I think good word of mouth will reap good Blu-Ray/DVD sales and rentals and build buzz for a sequel. And add at least one character who (visually) provides a major spectacle. Someone like Apocalypse.
The X-men should become vampires coz they sell.
It's alright folks I'm just kidding. Don't worry about a sequel making money. As mentioned before the reasons why X-men First Class had a slow start are unique and probably won't be repeated with a sequel.
1. It'll probably have 3D which does sell, even if we don't want it to.
2. It'll come out Memorial Day weekend which I understand is big business and typical of the X-franchise
3. It won't be following on from two disastrous movies
4. Hopefully it won't be that crowded comic book movie wise in other years.
Yeah, spectacle is a big box office draw now. People are more apt to skip films in the theater if there's not a reason to see it IN the theater. And films with spectacle draw people to see it on the big screen. Avatar was smart about that. You didn't get the full Avatar treatment if you didn't see it on the big screen and in 3D, and it paid off.
They could've had a big spectacle with the way they set up Shaw, but honestly, the way they did it was the only way Mags could have beat him, so I was okay with it. Plus, it was an emotional confrontation, not a physical one.
-May release date
-3D tickets
-IMAX tickets
-Better official site and better wallpapers in the official site
-Better character posters
-Sequel for X3
So in other words, you don't want a sequel to First Class?
I really liked the idea of introducing Psylocke. She could be badass and become a new favorite, like Mystique.
