What would it take for you to cancel Marvel books?

But he can survive being a crackhead? Errrr...

And no, in my book, that IS just as bad.

Are you being dense on purpose, thats what SIAT said, he CAN'T survive being a crackhead.

And yes, im sure people said the same thing when they killed off Gwen Stacy.:o :o :o :o :o :o and :o

I can never leave Marvel. Cause there will always be guys like Kirkman,Vaughn, and PAD who just like to put out great comics. And if those guys sell out, then there will only be new guys to fill their place.

If I felt that I didn't enjoy the writer currently working on a series, I would cancel that book until a writer I like or want to give a chance comes aboard. I cancelled Astonishing X-Men for this reason.

Never cancelled a book because of an artist. Can't see myself doing this really.

If MJ were killed off, I'd immediately cancel all Spider-Man titles, except Spider-Girl. I'd, quite frankly, be furious if they killed off MJ.

I'm not like these silly reactionary fans who gets pissed off for minor reasons. It would take ALOT for me to cancel something that I love as much as Spider-Man. I feel that gives me more credit really, over guys that always get angry all the time for minor stuff.

Cancelling Spider-Man immediately because something you didn't like happened is, like, the definition of a reactionary fan.

How about suffering through MULTIPLE crappy things? For like, two years? Is that okay then?

Yes, I'm sure they did. Is it necessary to kill MJ TOO? Heaven forbid the man have one stable facet of his life.

And survive without MJ? Sure, I could survive without my wife too. Just not sure I'd want to.

I say the moment youre not enjoying something drop it, but yeah I gotta say that something stupid is like "OMG SPider-Man is unmasked, ill never read Marvel again". Its dumb, just stop reading Spider-Man.

In your opinion. Which, I don't care about.

I was talking about suffering through multiple bad titles for two years. that's dumb. Just dump em. Why would you buy books you don't enjoy?

Its not, but id rather they kill off MJ than turn Peter into a crackhead, honest truth.

Oh trust me, I have.

Wait do you mean something happening so stupid in ONE book, that you drop ALL marvel books?

It have to be something so magically stupid insane twisted. I dunno, like a two page spread of Joe Q naked or something, then I'd drop.

:(

Like you know, a story where he fights crime WHILE being married. WHOA. Groundbreaking stuff.

Not really. MJ is such a big part of Peter's life. Marvel have tried before to break them up and it went badly. The books really can't survive without her. If they kill her off it's a big signal that the management just don't know what to do with Spider-Man, they feel like they have to do these crazy things to tell new stories. How can Peter Parker possibly recover from losing his wife enough that he can be happy smiley swinging single Peter, which is the whole point of killing off MJ anyway. The books would be incredibly depressing for awhile, and then all of a sudden he'll be swingin' single Pete. It won't work. You can't keep characters in stasis! These characters are very old and they need to grow somehow. Killing off MJ is a regression of the character.

I'm not going to be aboard a sinking ship.

Holy crud. I agree with you. Time to play the lottery.

I have dropped all of my Marvel books but it wasnt because of one thing. I found myself enjoying less and less of what I was reading. I dropped the Spider-man books during the Other because I just wasnt entertained by it anymore. Cap I dropped on principle.I know I discussed this and people disagree with me but I just dont see how Bucky survived. The X-books I dropped because they were continuing to be moronic. It seems every six months they are reshuffling the books and it got tiresome to me. It hit me one day when I walked into my LCS that I was walking past the Marvel books without stopping

How DID Bucky survive? Don't read Cap books. And how did he die in the first place?

during WW2 Cap and Bucky tried to thwart Baron Zemos plot to capture a top secret experimental plane. Zemo captured the plane and put a bomb on it and aimed it at Washington. Cap and Bucky jumped on the plane just as it was taking off. Realizing they didnt have enough time to diffuse the bomb Cap bails but Bucky is caught up in the exploding plane.....the Retcon'd history is that Bucky lost an arm in the explosion and a russian sub that was nearby scooped him out of the water and turned Bucky into a Russian assassin.

There are only 2 possible things that would cause me to cancel all of marvel books.

1.) Kill off in a permanent fashion Thor or Captain America
2.) Replace either above hero and/or Colossus in the 616 with their Ultimate counterpart.
