War of the Worlds. Cool idea, but jeez the execution was slooooow.

third of the way through desecration, hope to finish it by the end of the weekend

The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman

Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk

On Writing : A Memoir of the Craft by Stephen King.

Since my last post in this thread I've finished The Shining and Night Shift. My quest to collect all of Stephen King's work in hardback and read them in order continues.

Warhammer 4000 - Horus Heresy 19 - Know No Fear - Dan Abnett http://www.amazon.com/Horus-Heresy-Know-No-Fear/dp/1849701350

Always saw these and was kinda interested so when I saw a random one at a used book sale I got it.

Space ships, action, insane body count, awesome sci-fi tech, well written battles.

Why have I not been reading these before? These things are great, brutal, action packed and a fun read. It reads like I wish the Star Wars novels would. I am now a fan.

I highly recommend Eisenhorn (the omnibus collections are great) followed by Ravenor. For some more soldierly Imperial Guard action try the first Gaunt's Ghosts collection.

All are also by Dan Abnett who is imo leagues better than the rest of the 40K author stable.

About to start Soon I Will Be Invincible by Austin Grossman

You thought so too!? I was afraid I was alone on that one.

Just finished "As I Lay Dying" by William Faulkner. Started "Child of God" by Cormac McCarthy. Hoping it'll be as good as "The Road" and "No Country for Old Men" were.

Child of God is a good book. Just starting the border trilogy by Cormac.

couldn't sleep so i stayed up til 5am reading Bloodlines

I just couldn't finish Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobbs. I tried, and it was alright, but there just wasn't anything about it that made me WANT to read it.

So now I've started Under the Dome by Stephen King. We'll see how this one goes.

i am about 3/4 of the way through Desecration, hope to finish by this weekend

and a ton more i count the prequels, the kids series, or even any of the GN's lol

I've wanted to read the Left Behind series for years, but I don't want a book preaching to me and trying to push an ideology. Do the books do that?

I'd have to reread it to say for sure. When I read it I had a serious Pentecostal JESUS!!!! type of mentality, so I liked that sort of thing.

I know the story is very engaging, but it might be preachy. I remember it not shying away from the religious side of the story. It worth at least the first novel. The stories were good enough that I read the first 5 books in 5 days (1 day each). Granted, I was unemployed at the time, but still...
