Kick-Ass 2

Even when its weighed down by been there done that moments Kick-Ass 2 still manages to entertain and
well...kick ass.New life is breathed into the story with the arrival of Colonel Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey)
Even though Carrey began to disavow the the films violence and decided not to be a part of the films promotional
tour, his brief moments in the film are memorable.I do wonder if some of his scenes were cut from the film due
to the aforementioned.

I felt the character Kick-Ass/Dave Lizewski (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) was pushed a little to the back this time around
or maybe it was the fact that Hit-Girl's/Mindy Macready's (Chloë Grace Moretz) story was more interesting,as she continually
defies her adoptive father Marcus (Morris Chestnut),enters puberty in hilarious ways, and still dispatches evil doers while
spitting out salty one liners.
Chris D'Amico now the MotherF***er (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) has some funny moments as he aims to avenge his father's death

A lot of the actors capture the enthusiasm of the characters found in the pages of the Kick -Ass comic created by Mark Millar and illustrated
by John Romita, Jr. There are a ton of new characters and villains and when they face off it looks like Comic Con Cosplay goes wild.

KA2 wont win any Oscar's but its a fun romp.

Scale of 1-10 an 8

Snake Eyes

The Mask of Phantasm

Sudden Impact ( this is how I imagined Dirty Harry series ending, there is no fifth film in my mind:cwink:)

Kick-Ass 2 - 5/5
I wasn't expecting much and thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Elysium - 4/5
More of a thinking man's action film, don't expect big explosions because this movie is not about that, in a way it reminded me of Gattaca.

The Bourne Supremacy

A Perfect Getaway (2009)

Screenwriting 101; your protagonist must have a Nicolas Cage obsession and refer to himself as an American Jedi.

I had a lot of fun with this one. It starts out as a whodunit murder mystery and then turns into an action comedy, the twist is predictable, but because it occurs midway and allows the film to play out, rather than clumsily force an ending at that point.

Kick-Ass 2 (in theaters): It does not deserve the hate it's getting from critics. Sure, it's definitely not a movie for everyone, but if you liked the first one, then I can see people enjoying this one as well (even if it's not nearly as good as the first one). It lacks some of the awesome satire in the first film, but it's still a lot of fun and the acting is really solid. Even though Col. Stars & Stripes didn't have enough screen time, this is the first time I've loved Jim Carrey in YEARS. All in all, the movie is not without its flaws, but I enjoyed it enough that those flaws don't really bother me. If you go into the movie expecting just a stylistic and fun romp, then that's what you'll get.

Kick-Ass (at home): I decided to rewatch the first one last night, and it still holds up. I love love love this movie. That's all I need to say.

You should watch his previous film, Primer.

Anna Karenina

Great, now im reconsidering my decision to watch UC.

Look, there's something very interesting about it, but it is told in such a confusing way! I suggest you to read a spoiler-free synopsis or something before watching it, or you're gonna be lost as hell. In fact, after I watched it, I read the wikipedia article, and the movie becomes much more interesting. But the way the movie unfolds is so unappealing.

Damn...sounds exactly like primer's storytelling. I was hoping UC wouldn't unfold in the same way; sigh..oh well, ill still watch it out of curiosity.

Yeah, it is quite the same as Primer in terms of storytelling. Is like a puzzle. But UC has a more interesting concept. Apparently it provided a lot of analysis I hadn't even thought about.
